@Angelina Great photo; NZ seems to be unique in terms of some of its flora and fauna... :)This is a Pic of a Pohutukawa tree or NZ Christmas tree. This is one tree with aerial roots coming off it.

Got a fireplace to take the chill off....we used to have one in all the homes we lived in. I remember going out in the 'cold' and getting the chopped wood from the open wood shed into my arms and jogging back inside...in LevinA little cooler this morning 53F, overcast. The sun is peeking through so I hope it warms up today. We are just coming out of summer and heading towards Autumn (fall).![]()
Delightful spring weather then eh?Well a tornado watch is still in effect for 90 minutes.. lightning and wet...here in Central Florida.. a cold front follows it...

The distance across Florida, West to East) from where I live is about 330 kms, and plus we are on 'higher' ground that does not give a developing tornado chance to do any real damage. The worse I've heard is of a freak tornado as a cat 1 taking a roof partially off. I guess that's bad enough. And this was a few years back.Delightful spring weather then eh?
All is calm right now when this front came through last night with a bit cooler temp this am. Coffee, toasted muffin and a banana is my breakfast. It's so nice in southern Texas right now that I'm gonna celebrate with a cinnamon roll and a coffee.
Then more snow for next winter...knee deep at least. As if Buffalo dwellers are not used to it.....:cool:It’s overcast here today, and raining ( what a surprise !! ) We have started to get some spring weather but it’s kind of late this year.
We used to get loads of snow where I am living but it’s really changed, we didn’t have hardly any this year, further up North had quite a lot. I kind of miss it at times, more so now that I am not working. Then more snow for next winter...knee deep at least. As if Buffalo dwellers are not used to it.....
Well this may be due not so much that you are wimps at all. I would blame it more on the newer gens and the even increasing extra socialistic programs for your 'protection and safety' that makes you more dependent on them for more really unneeded 'help'...not as robust and self-reliant as you used to be...imoWe used to get loads of snow where I am living but it’s really changed, we didn’t have hardly any this year, further up North had quite a lot. I think you get way more snow that the U.K. - but I bet it doesn’t bring everything to a stand still - we are such wimps !! lol
