In one short verse at the end of Romans (Romans 16:7), we are introduced to Junia, a first-century apostle who has been systematically erased from our view for centuries. From Junia’s story in the Bible, we learn about God’s intention for ministry partnership between women and men, about suffering for the sake of the gospel, and about how women have always been faithful leaders in the fulfillment of God’s mission.

These four women apostles were Mariamne, Irene, Nino, Junia, and Thecla.

And... they do not meet the qualifications for ministry given in the New Testament so... they were helpers, maybe very important helpers... but they were not anointed by the Lord as being actual Apostles.

Unless we want to discount what God's Word says about the qualifications for ministry as given by the Lord.

Qualifications for Ministry

1 Timothy 3:1-13

This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desires a good work.
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
One that rules well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Bishop - Strongs G1985

a superintendent, i.e. Christian officer in genitive case charge of a (or the) church (literally or figuratively): KJV -- bishop, overseer.

Deacons - Strongs G1249

from an obsolete diako (to run on errands; compare 1377); an attendant, i.e. (genitive case) a waiter (at table or in other menial duties); specially, a Christian teacher and pastor (technically, a deacon): KJV -- deacon, minister, servant.

Titus 1:6-9
If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

1 Timothy 2:12,13

I do not allow a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
For Adam was first formed, then Eve

Paul bases his viewpoint on creation. In v. 13 he says, "For Adam was first created, then Eve." In the least, this argument shows that Paul is not restricting his treatment to the church; it's a matter that is grounded in the constitutional differences between men and women, or at least in the order of authority that God had ordained. In Gen 2-3, we see an interesting phenomenon relevant to 1 Tim 2. God teaches man, man teaches woman, the devil is out of the picture. That's Gen 2. But in Gen 3, we see the devil teaching woman, woman teaching man, and God is out of the picture. And this is Paul's argument: there is a divinely ordained order to things that, if disturbed, would bring deception and ruin due to not following the ways of the Lord.

1 Timothy 2:12 - Almost every commentator says that women should not pastor or teach over men. The argument the Apostle Paul gives for his statement "I do not permit a women to teach or to exercise authority over a man" is found in the following 2 verses. His argument is actually not from culture as some claim but from creation. The validity of his argument and the weight of this statement plants its roots in the creation order. Which means that the statement he makes regarding women not teaching over men (essentially pastoring) stands for all-time and to all cultures everywhere, because he doesn’t appeal to culture for his reasons but the creation ORDER which is simply honoring the way God decided to create.

Other Scriptures to Consider

1 Corinthians 11:8,9
For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.
Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

*In the Old Testament we do not find any evidence of the Lord ever appointing or ordaining female priests to enter in to the Holy of Holies or to make sacrifices for the sins of the people. This does not mean the Lord did not use women in a supporting role because there is plenty of instances in scripture of that.

*To see the scripture references above and still hold the position that it’s OK for women to be pastors over a church and / or to be in authority over men to be allowed to teach men is to discount the authority and validity of God’s Word as though what God says is meaningless. There’s a lot of that viewpoint going around.

*If we are going to start ignoring the parts of God’s Word that aren’t popular or politically correct that makes us pleasers of men instead of pleasing God. If we’re going to do that, then why bother reading God’s Word at all? Sadly, a growing number of those claiming to be Christians are doing exactly that in these end times.

*In John 4:16-18 Jesus told the Samaritan woman to go get her husband because it is God’s order (His ways of being and doing right) for a woman to be joined unto her husband (see Gen 2:24, Matt 19:5; Mark 10:7, Eph 5:31, 1 Cor 6:16)

* 1 Corinthians 11:1-15 - These are actually fallen angels that Paul has in view in 1 Cor 11:10 in that the woman should be under authority as is God’s original order and intent when He created woman. This can partly be based on based on a Graeco-Roman culture in which the female head (and hair) could be viewed as displays of sexuality (and availability)... but is primarily a spiritual covering where man should be in authority to protect not only himself from the evil influence of fallen angels but to protect woman also.

The head covering can also be a means of maintaining order and reducing potential for lust/sexual angst within the male population (akin to forbidding micro mini skirts and low cut blouses in church now). The fallen angels were angels who fell because they had sex with the beautiful daughters of men. As such, Paul is enjoining this upon them for their own protection from these angels and from the carnal lust fallen angels seek to tempt men with.

Concerning 1 Timothy 2:8-15
Paul gave two reasons, both of them are theological not cultural.

1. The created order: Adam was first created as an independent person, then Eve was created from his rib to be his helper. She was therefore not created to be independent of the man in authority.

2. Eve, and consequently all women, were placed under a penalty of the curse. This included pain in childbearing and that her husband would rule over her.

Paul's reasoning above is that all Christian women must submit to both of these things, at least during this age while the curse is still in effect. Yes, there are lots of women who know much more than their husbands about biblical teaching. However, if she transgresses THIS teaching, by teaching publicly in the assembly, then she is TEACHING false doctrine regardless of the content of her 'message.' This is because "teaching" is not only oral. There is a kind of 'teaching' that is by example, which is what she is supposed to be doing instead of teaching orally. She might be making great theological points with her words.

But there is one glaring point that she is making that completely undermines everything that is coming out of her mouth -- by her actions she is transgressing the biblical teaching regarding the role of Christian women by her public display of blatant insubordination to the commandments of Scripture. Notice in the above passage that these instructions immediately follow specific instructions on how Christian women are to dress and adorn themselves.

This EXAMPLE of CONDUCT is how godly Christian women are to make a statement. A women 'pastor' or other 'teacher' in the assembly by her conduct is no different than if a Christian woman came to the assembly immodestly in her underwear. It is a window into her character. She is not doing "what is proper for a woman professing godliness."

How does this reconcile with Deborah in Judges 4-5?
Even while Deborah was a "prophetess" (God spoke through her and people consulted her for advice) and she held a civil office, the office of the priesthood was reserved for males of the tribe of Levi exclusively. God is able to use whomever He chooses whenever He wishes, and on occasion He breaks with the "norms" in situations where those norms become unworkable. However, man is bound by His commandments when it comes to holding offices (like OT priests or NT elders/pastors). And while there may be an occasional exception to the rule, we should not make the mistake of making an exception the rule while discarding the actual commandment. This is unfortunately what many in the Charismatic movement have done.

What was a "prophetess"?

A prophetess was one through whom God spoke. But this has nothing to do with holding an office in the assembly.

What about Christian or spiritual books written by Christian women. Should I not read a book on spiritual topics if it's written by a woman? Like, a Joyce Meyer book, or Beth Moore, or whoever?

Older Christian women should be teaching younger women, and then only those things that relate to what God commands of women. That does not all have to be "religious." There is a lot of practical teaching that godly older Christian woman can teach to the younger and less experienced. Here is what the Lord said thru the Apostle Paul:

1 Timothy 2:8-15
8 I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;
9 in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing,
10 but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.
11 Let a woman learn in silence with all submission.
12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.
15 Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.

Titus 2:1-5
1 But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine:
2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience;
3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things--
4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.

So, here is the nuts and bolts of it:
1. Women are to act and dress very modestly, not wearing clothing jewelry, or anything that is not "modest." Modesty does not ONLY means covering up the private and semi-private parts. It also means "plain" -- the opposite of glamorous, bold, attention seeking, expensive, etc.

2. She is to adorn herself with "good works." That is not defined as preaching, or writing books, or being the star of the show, or a celebrity. It is being a servant to other individuals, particularly those within her own assembly, those who have a need.

3. She is not allowed to teach in mixed company, the reasons are as follows (all being theological not cultural)

a. God created Adam to be the leader, teacher, provider, and protector of his family, and Eve was created to be his "helper" to do all she can do to make his job easier.

b. The curse put on women included two things: pain in childbirth as a REMINDER that her husband must rule over her. (This is because her sin was that she blatantly acted against what Adam had told her that God required of them both, circumventing his God-given authority and role). So, you can ask Joyce Meyer if she had any pain during childbirth (or had to take medication to help ease the pain), and if she did, then she is under this curse which required her to be obedient to her husband in all things. And according to Paul, her not being allowed to teach in mixed company stems from this as well.

4. Women do have a role to play in teaching their children. But when they become "empty-nesters" they are to graduate to teaching adult Christian women. And the thing they are to teach is what they have themselves been practicing and have become proficient at -- how to successfully raise a family, honor and take care of her husband and, how to make her home and household prosper . IN other words, she should already be an expert at this, and already have a good track-record and reputation among the assembly as having lived out these things in her home life successfully. The thrust of her teaching is not theology, except as it relates to the above.

So, if you want to read Joyce Meyer or any other similar teacher, just brace yourself for being deceived by her. When Eve decided to go beyond the boundaries God established for women, Satan was very eager to to seize the opportunity to exploit her. And it is no different today. That does not mean she is not a good teacher, or might not have some good solid teachings. But if her LIFE does not reflect these things, she is disobedient to the Word, which negates anything good she might have to say.

Women were not allowed to hold any office in the assembly that involved teaching men or exercising any kind of authority over the men, (which would place her over her own husband in the assembly). However, the NT supports the role of woman serving in the office of "Deaconess," the female version of "Deacons."

Phoebe was a deaconess, as is plainly stated in Romans 16:1-2 (says she was a “servant” in a church – G1249 in Strong’s Greek Dictionary - attendant, servant or deaconess), which actually uses the Greek word "Deaconess." That this was an official office is clear by the clause, "of the assembly in Cenchrea." Deaconesses were given responsibilities of assisting the female members, including counseling, etc., especially in things where male leadership would not be appropriate, such as one-on one instruction. And like Phoebe, some Godly women held enormous responsibilities regarding finances of the assembly. In this passage, she was sent from her home assembly to another assembly on "business." She was therefore no doubt the "treasurer" of that assembly, and could conduct finances in their name.

The truth of Christ must be told and expressed....
Luke 24:22
Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;

That's wonderful... however, it does not mean women are to be in authority over men or to be church leaders.

Nobody is saying women cannot be involved in assisting with ministry as all "laymen" are excepted to participate whether they be men or women.

But God's Word specifically teaches that men are to be leaders and in authority... not women which is another reason why those following Ellen G White's religion are doing so in error.

It's interesting that the nearly all the criteria you post above are for men, not women. Tell me. What criteria do you suppose was needful for someone to be an evangelist...a prophet... Or one sent by God for a particular purpose in the church to encourage people away from their lethargy and compromising luke warmness to a place of spiritual maturity and devotion? And if there were no men willing or available for that role, what was the alternative?

You read just one book of hers, and then tell me she is brain damaged. How about you start with Steps to Christ. It isn't that big. I'm sure your big enough to tackle the responsibility of being honest and courageous enough to make the attempt.

I stick with what God says in His Word... that way I can avoid the false teachers.

Just because someone writes a book with lots of blah blah that seems to be plausible to some doesn't mean they don't have mental issues.

All this aside, she made numerous false predictions she claimed came from God so that makes her a false prophet... and people doing this should be ignored as they are proven to not be hearing the Holy Spirit.

if there were no men willing or available for that role, what was the alternative?

That's the same excuse the lady pastors used at the church I used to belong to back in the late 80s before I studied God's Word an d got what He said... about qualifications for ministry.

They had the same idea you do... let's just ignore what God says about this subject! That... ends badly!

There is nothing which will weaken the strength of a church like pride and passion. If one engaged in the work of God does things in contradiction to another engaged in the same work, that is strife and variance. If we do this to be esteemed or to exalt self, it is vain-glory, and death to spirituality and to Christian love and unity of action. Let there be no spirit of opposition among Christians. Christ has given us an example of love and humility, and has enjoined upon his followers to love one another as he has loved us. We must in lowliness of mind esteem others better than ourselves. We must be severe upon our own defects of character, be quick to discern our own errors and mistakes, and make less of the faults of others than of our own. We must feel a special interest in looking upon the things of others,—not to covet them, not to find fault with them, not to remark upon them and present them in a false light, but to do strict justice in all things to our brethren and all with whom we have any dealings. A spirit to work plans for our own selfish interest, so as to grasp a little gain, or to labor to show a superiority or rivalry, is an offense to God. The Spirit of Christ will lead his followers to be concerned, not only for their success and advantage, but to be equally interested for the success and advantage of their brethren. This will be loving our neighbor as ourselves; and an opposite spirit from this creates differences and alienations and want of love and harmony.
Oh, how out of place is all this strife for supremacy! Jesus alone is to be exalted. Whatever may be the ability or the success of any one of us, it is not because we have manufactured these powers ourselves; they are the sacred trust given us of God, to be wisely employed in his service to his glory. All is the Lord's intrusted capital. Why, then, should we be lifted up? Why should we call attention to our own defective selves? What we do possess in talent and wisdom, is received from the Source of wisdom, that we may glorify God.
The apostle would call our attention from ourselves to the Author of our salvation. He presents before us his two natures, divine and human. Here is the description of the divine: "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God." He was "the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person."
Now, of the human: "He was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death." He voluntarily assumed human nature. It was his own act, and by his own consent. He clothed his divinity with humanity. He was all the while as God, but he did not appear as God. He veiled the demonstrations of Deity, which had commanded the homage, and called forth the admiration, of the universe of God. He was God while upon earth, but he divested himself of the form of God, and in its stead took the form and fashion of a man. He walked the earth as a man. For our sakes he became poor, that we through his poverty might be made rich. He laid aside his glory and his majesty. He was God, but the glories of the form of God he for a while relinquished. Though he walked among men in poverty, scattering his blessings wherever he went, at his word legions of angels would surround their Redeemer, and do him homage. But he walked the earth unrecognized, unconfessed, with but few exceptions, by his creatures. The atmosphere was polluted with sin and curses, in place of the anthem of praise. His lot was poverty and humiliation. As he passed to and fro upon his mission of mercy to relieve the sick, to lift up the depressed, scarce a solitary voice called him blessed, and the very greatest of the nation passed him by with disdain.
Contrast this with the riches of glory, the wealth of praise pouring forth from immortal tongues, the millions of rich voices in the universe of God in anthems of adoration. But he humbled himself, and took mortality upon him. As a member of the human family, he was mortal; but as a God, he was the fountain of life to the world. He could, in his divine person, ever have withstood the advances of death, and refused to come under its dominion; but he voluntarily laid down his life, that in so doing he might give life and bring immortality to light. He bore the sins of the world, and endured the penalty, which rolled like a mountain upon his divine soul. He yielded up his life a sacrifice, that man should not eternally die. He died, not through being compelled to die, but by his own free will. This was humility. The whole treasure of heaven was poured out in one gift to save fallen man. He brought into his human nature all the life-giving energies that human beings will need and must receive.
Wondrous combination of man and God! He might have helped his human nature to withstand the inroads of disease by pouring from his divine nature vitality and undecaying vigor to the human. But he humbled himself to man's nature. He did this that the Scripture might be fulfilled; and the plan was entered into by the Son of God, knowing all the steps in his humiliation, that he must descend to make an expiation for the sins of a condemned, groaning world. What humility was this! It amazed angels. The tongue can never describe it; the imagination can not take it in. The eternal Word consented to be made flesh! God became man! It was a wonderful humility.
But he stepped still lower; the Man must humble himself as a man to bear insult, reproach, shameful accusations, and abuse. There seemed to be no safe place for him in his own territory. He had to flee from place to place for his life. He was betrayed by one of his disciples; he was denied by one of his most zealous followers. He was mocked. He was crowned with a crown of thorns. He was scourged. He was forced to bear the burden of the cross. He was not insensible to this contempt and ignominy. He submitted, but, oh! he felt the bitterness as no other being could feel it. He was pure, holy, and undefiled, yet arraigned as a criminal! The adorable Redeemer stepped down from the highest exaltation. Step by step he humbled himself to die,—but what a death! It was the most shameful, the most cruel,—the death upon the cross as a malefactor. He did not die as a hero in the eyes of the world, loaded with honors, as men in battle. He died as a condemned criminal, suspended between the heavens and the earth,—died a lingering death of shame, exposed to the tauntings and revilings of a debased, crime-loaded, profligate multitude! "All they that see me laugh me to scorn; they shoot out the lip, they shake the head." Psalm 22:7. He was numbered with the transgressors, he expired amid derision, and his kinsmen according to the flesh disowned him. His mother beheld his humiliation, and he was forced to see the sword pierce her heart. He endured the cross, despised the shame. He made it of small account in consideration of the results that he was working out in behalf of, not only the inhabitants of this speck of a world, but the whole universe, every world which God had created.

Christ was to die as man's substitute. Man was a criminal under the sentence of death for transgression of the law of God, as a traitor, a rebel; hence a substitute for man must die as a malefactor, because he stood in the place of the traitors, with all their treasured sins upon his divine soul. It was not enough that Jesus should die in order to fully meet the demands of the broken law, but he died a shameful death. The prophet gives to the world his words, "I hid not my face from shame and spitting."
In consideration of this, can men have one particle of exaltation? As they trace down the life and sufferings and humiliation of Christ, can they lift their proud heads as if they were to bear no trials, no shame, no humiliation? I say to the followers of Christ, Look to Calvary, and blush for shame at your self-important ideas. All this humiliation of the Majesty of heaven was for guilty, condemned man. He went lower and lower in his humiliation, until there were no lower depths that he could reach, in order to lift man up from his moral defilement. All this was for you who are striving for the supremacy—striving for human praise, for human exaltation; you who are afraid you will not receive all that deference, that respect from human minds, that you think is your due. Is this Christlike?
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." He died to make an atonement, and to become a pattern for every one who would be his disciple. Shall selfishness come into your hearts? And will those who set not before them the pattern, Jesus, extol your merits? You have none except as they come through Jesus Christ. Shall pride be harbored after you have seen Deity humbling himself, and then as man debasing himself, till there was no lower point to which he could descend? "Be astonished, O ye heavens," and be amazed, ye inhabitants of the earth, that such returns should be made to our Lord! What contempt! what wickedness! what formality! what pride! what efforts made to lift up man and glorify self, when the Lord of glory humbled himself, agonized, and died the shameful death upon the cross in our behalf!
Who is learning the meekness and lowliness of the Pattern? Who is striving earnestly to master self? Who is lifting his cross and following Jesus? Who is wrestling against self-conceit? Who is setting himself in good earnest and with all his energies to overcome satanic envyings, jealousies, evil-surmisings, and lasciviousness; cleansing the soul temple from all defilements, and opening the door of the heart for Jesus to come in? Would that these words might have that impression upon minds that all who may read them would cultivate the grace of humility, be self-denying, more disposed to esteem others better than themselves, having the mind and Spirit of Christ to bear one another's burdens! Oh that we might write deeply upon our hearts, as we contemplate, the great condescension and humiliation to which the Son of God descended that we might be partakers of the divine nature, and escape the corruption that is in the world through lust! All haughtiness, all self-exaltation, must be put away from us, and we learn the meekness and lowliness of Christ, or we shall find no place in the kingdom of God. The life must be hid with Christ in God. The anchor of every soul is to be cast into the Rock cleft for us, that Rock which bears up a ruined world. Let us keep these things in our minds.
Pride of talent, pride of intellect, can not exist in hearts that are hid with Christ in God. There would be no strivings to let self stand forth conspicuously unless Deity and humanity combined had stood in the gap to stay the sentence of a broken law. Its penalty would have fallen, without abating a jot of its severity, upon the sinful. It fell on Jesus, the world's Redeemer, to give man another trial. Then let us humble ourselves, and adore Jesus, but never, never, exalt self in the least degree. God forbid that we should foster in ourselves independence. Make haste that none of us may occupy the fearful position of him for whom Christ died in vain.
Will my brethren consider that there is no royal road to heaven? The cross, the cross, lies directly in the path we must travel to reach the crown. Those who will not humble themselves even as a little child, said Jesus Christ, shall have no part in the kingdom of heaven. If the motive of all our life is to serve and honor Christ and bless humanity in the world, then the dreariest path of duty will become a bright way,—a path cast up for the ransomed of the Lord to walk in. If we are children of God, there will be countless opportunities for serving him by active ministry to those for whom he died. Jesus looks upon the wants, the necessities, of every soul, and ministers unto them by standing close beside the one whom he uses to be an instrument to help and bless others. All contentions, all envy, is grievous to Jesus Christ RH September 4, 1900, par. 1 - RH September 4, 1900, par. 13

For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Psalm 119:89.
The Word of God covers a period of history reaching from the Creation to the coming of the Son of man in the clouds of heaven. Yea, more, it carries the mind forward to the future life, and opens before it the glories of Paradise restored. Through all these centuries the truth of God has remained the same. That which was truth in the beginning is truth now. Although new and important truths appropriate for succeeding generations have been opened to the understanding, the present revealings do not contradict those of the past. Every new truth understood only makes more significant the old.14
Commencing with the Fall, down through the patriarchal and Jewish ages even to the present time, there has been a gradual unfolding of the purposes of God in the plan of redemption. Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses understood the gospel through Christ; they looked for the salvation of the race through man’s substitute and surety. These holy men of old held communion with the Saviour who was to come to our world in human flesh, and some of them talked with Christ and heavenly angels face to face, as a man talks with his friend.15
As time has rolled on from Creation and the cross of Calvary, as prophecy has been and is still fulfilling, light and knowledge have greatly increased.... In the life and death of Christ, a light flashes back upon the past, giving significance to the whole Jewish economy, and making of the old and the new dispensations a complete whole. Nothing that God has ordained in the plan of redemption can be dispensed with. It is the working out of the divine will in the salvation of man.16
All the truths of revelation are of value to us, and in contemplating things of eternal interest, we shall gain true perceptions of the character of God.... The entire character will be elevated and transformed. The soul will be brought into harmony with Heaven
Need to bring out what is said on the events coming at the last days...

The world is becoming more and more lawless. Soon great trouble will arise among the nations—trouble that will not cease until Jesus comes.—The Review and Herald, February 11, 1904. LDE 12.3

We are on the very verge of the time of trouble, and perplexities that are scarcely dreamed of are before us.—Testimonies for the Church 9:43 (1909). LDE 12.4

We are standing on the threshold of the crisis of the ages. In quick succession the judgments of God will follow one another—fire, and flood, and earthquake, with war and bloodshed.—Prophets and Kings, 278 (c. 1914).

We are to see in history the fulfillment of prophecy, to study the workings of Providence in the great reformatory movements, and to understand the progress of events in the marshaling of the nations for the final conflict of the great controversy.—Testimonies for the Church 8:307 (1904).

There is need of a much closer study of the Word of God; especially should Daniel and the Revelation have attention as never before.... The light that Daniel received from God was given especially for these last days.—Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers, 112, 113 (1896). LDE 15.3

Let us read and study the twelfth chapter of Daniel. It is a warning that we shall all need to understand before the time of the end.—Manuscript Releases 15:228 (1903). LDE 15.4

The last book of the New Testament scriptures is full of truth that we need to understand.—Christ's Object Lessons, 133 (1900). LDE 15.5

The unfulfilled predictions of the book of Revelation are soon to be fulfilled. This prophecy is now to be studied with diligence by the people of God and should be clearly understood. It does not conceal the truth; it clearly forewarns, telling us what will be in the future.—Notebook Leaflets 1:96 (1903).

I think we are seeing it on daily basis as the news comes on..

The time has come when judgment is fallen in the streets, and equity cannot enter, and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey. But the Lord's arm is not shortened that it cannot save, and his ear is not heavy that it cannot hear. The people of the United States have been a favored people; but when they restrict religious liberty, surrender Protestantism, and give countenance to popery, the measure of their guilt will be full, and "national apostasy" will be registered in the books of heaven. The result of this apostasy will be national ruin.
RH May 2, 1893, par. 11

When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near.91
Mar 216.3

Whosoever maketh himself a king," they continued, "speaketh against Caesar." This was touching Pilate in a weak point. He was under suspicion by the Roman government, and he knew that such a report would be ruin to him. He knew that if the Jews were thwarted, their rage would be turned against him. They would leave nothing undone to accomplish their revenge. He had before him an example of the persistence with which they sought the life of One whom they hated without reason.
Pilate then took his place on the judgment seat, and again presented Jesus to the people, saying, "Behold your King!" Again the mad cry was heard, "Away with Him, crucify Him." In a voice that was heard far and near, Pilate asked, "Shall I crucify your King?" But from profane, blasphemous lips went forth the words, "We have no king but Caesar."
Thus by choosing a heathen ruler, the Jewish nation had withdrawn from the theocracy. They had rejected God as their king. Henceforth they had no deliverer. They had no king but Caesar. To this the priests and teachers had led the people. For this, with the fearful results that followed, they were responsible. A nation's sin and a nation's ruin were due to the religious leaders. 'Ecumenism and papal primacy: Vatican releases status report on dialogues

St. John Paul II called for an ecumenical discussion about the role the bishop of Rome, the pope, could play in a more united Christianity. The Vatican released an in-depth summary of the responses and proposals for moving forward from the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity.

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- The reason why the 2024 edition of the Vatican yearbook has re-inserted "Patriarch of the West" as one of the historical titles of the pope appears to be a response to concerns expressed by Orthodox leaders and theologians.

For months after the yearbook, the Annuario Pontificio, was released, the Vatican press office said it had no explanation for the reappearance of the title, which Pope Benedict XVI had dropped in 2006.

But new documents from the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity place the change squarely in the middle of a broad discussion among all mainline Christian churches on the papacy and the potential role of the bishop of Rome in a more united Christian community..... Indeed we see who is behind the global interfaith finding common ground .
Now prepare to take a seat before reading what i type next .
We got us a deciever in the house my friend .
Take note of these three things .
Abraham peace accords
religious tolerance act
Interfaith finding common ground .
THEY ALL THREE came of HER
but i watched and am watching a huge portion of the evangelical realm
be wooed by a man and their own nar leaders
OVER a man they beleive , as do some muslims , jews and a lot of christendom
can bring Peace to the middle east and unto the world .
AND YET his method for peace , IS THE ABRAHAM PEACE ACCORDS
IS the RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE act
IS THE INTERFAITH ACT . THERE WILL BE NO PEACE unto the wicked my friend .
That is the solution of anti christ to attain what these religoins believe will bring PEACE .
WHAT A CHRIST DENYING PACT that one is TOO .

Actually, in thinking about this more, perhaps there is an ulterior motive I could confess to, and that would be to lay aside any suggestions that Adventists rate Ellen White as the final authority in faith and practice for our Christian walk. She herself would be horrified of adventists today or at any time works use her and/or her husband as a source or example for Bible truth, or final authoritative source for counsel on how to live in righteousness. Here's some quotes to that effect...

In the vision given me June 12, 1868, I was shown the danger of the people of God in looking to Brother and Sister White and thinking that they must come to them with their burdens and seek counsel of them. This ought not so to be.
They are invited by their compassionate, loving Saviour to come unto Him, when weary and heavy-laden, and He will relieve them. In Him they will find rest. In taking their perplexities and trials to Jesus, they will find the promise in regard to them fulfilled. When in their distress they feel the relief which is found alone in Jesus they obtain an experience which is of the highest value to them.
Brother and Sister White are striving for purity of life, striving to bring forth fruit unto holiness; yet they are only erring mortals.
Many come to us with the inquiry: Shall I do this? Shall I engage in that enterprise? Or, in regard to dress, Shall I wear this or that article?
I answer them: You profess to be disciples of Christ. Study your Bibles. Read carefully and prayerfully the life of our dear Saviour when He dwelt among men upon the earth. Imitate His life, and you will not be found straying from the narrow path.
We UTTERLY REFUSE to be conscience for you.
If we tell you just what to do, YOU WILL LOOK TO US to guide you, instead of going directly to Jesus for yourselves. Your experience will be founded IN US. You must have an experience for yourselves, which shall be founded in God. Then can you stand amid the perils of the last days and be purified and not consumed by the fire of affliction through which all the saints must pass in order to have the impurities removed from their character preparatory to receiving the finishing touch of immortality. 2T 118.3

I think the advice above speaks to all church members, all Christians of whatever denomination, particularly Catholics, that their pastors and priests and church leaders should never replace the real and personal role that Christ himself should have in our lives. Ellen White always saw herself and her ministry as one that led people to Christ and His word as the ultimate and final authority in all things Christian. This was especially needful at the time she ministered, as the churches in her day were in a dark place and the Lord was seeking to bring people back to Himself.
I don’t have anything against Ellen White. Although I haven’t read much of her work. What I have read it seems like she genuinely was seeking to know God.

You wrote ‘Actually, in thinking about this more, perhaps there is an ulterior motive I could confess to…’ what you said is inspiring. Few consider their own ulterior motives. I see these ulterior motives come up often in the Word, Proverbs for example. Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a person are clean in his own sight, But the Lord examines the motives.

It makes me think of the Pharisees whom with their mouths they spoke one thing, yet in their hearts there was hidden ulterior motives like gain for themselves, how they could extort (make merchandise) of others, and making the outside of the cup clean.

To share with you a struggle of mine. I use to write smut. I’m not that great of a writer but I tried hard to earn fame, success, and to be included with the best on the charts …writing smut became what I thought was giving readers what they want. Then I become sick with MS, diagnosed by the number of lesions in my brain. At first I was angry, livid assuming God took away what I loved just as I had fully nurtured, cultivated and grown up my desire to where it was near yielding its crop. Which I guess that path did yield death. Then came the time I unpublished books, put the writing aside, walking away from every project. Except studying His Word. Now I do have an urge to write once more, but this time I want to write what matters. I think even if it’s only my family who reads it after I’m gone. I’ve been wrestling with this for a while. Because of: ulterior motive. motive scares me, considering always what is my motive? My husband says he has never met anyone who begs to bear fruit more than me. I do want there to be children borne. I’ve sought my whole life for purpose. (Yes, finding it in all the wrong places). Love Ruth 2:14-16 And Boaz said unto her, At mealtime come you here, and eat of the bread, and dip your morsel in the vinegar. And she sat beside the reapers: and he reached her parched corn, and she did eat, and was sufficed, and left. [15] And when she was risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, Let her glean even among the sheaves, and reproach her not: [16] And let fall also some of the handfuls of purpose for her, and leave them, that she may glean them, and rebuke her not.
^not to be overly emotional, but that makes me cry. It touches my heart with a longing I can’t explain.

As far as Ellen White goes. Those that blame her or you or others as following her and not God. Let’s not forget most of them are following some other man’s teaching. It’s no different. Even naming: I’m Calvinism. I’m Lutheran. No one can judge Ellen Whites motive except God. I’m not even sure Calvin. Luther or others can be blamed. We should be able to taste (discern)what we eat, and if it doesn’t taste good, then spit it out. 1 Peter 2:1-3 So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. [2] Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation-Ephesians 4:12-13 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: [13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
^to me that says if you eat what edifies not the body of Christ, and the growth is stunted or heaven forbid there is a miscarriage…it goes back to disobedience to “put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.”

[3] if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

I’m sorry my post are always long. To explain. Your post helped me open a path of study this morning. This post is my devotional for the day.
