I think we all know the Bible teaches PRINCIPLES. "Be sober, be vigilant" is a PRINCIPLE which disqualifies the use of heroin, meth, cocaine, etc., though such things didn't exist in Bible times.

I see the problem - you're reading a corrupted translation. Try reading the KJV which properly renders the text to show there's no definitive reference to booze.

Your "remnant" started in 1863. Today's Seventh-day Adventist Church had its beginning in the mid-1800s, with William Miller (1782-1849), a farmer and Baptist preacher who lived in upstate New York.

First of all – it was the Catholic Church that declared the Canon of Scripture in 383 AD. under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible itself doesn't tell you which Books belong in it. The Canon of Scripture is a CATHOLIC TRADITION.

Prior to that – many other Books were considered to be a part of Scripture like the Shepherd of Hermas, Gospel of Peter, the Protoevangelium of James and others.

Also - you speak of Polycarp as if though he were apart from the Catholic Church. Polycarp was not only a student of the Apostle John - was the Bishop of the Catholic Church in Smyrna.

And you STILL haven’t told me where you got your OT Canon of Scripture. In case you didn‘t know – your Protestant Bible has 7 Books less than the Catholic Bible.

There is no greater corrupted translation in English than KJV!

The idea that Jesus turned water into grape juice at a wedding is absurd. What an insult it is to God, supposing he does not know the difference between grape juice and wine, which is an alcoholic beverage, by definition.
