The surest route to failure is to try to please everyone.
If you don't have enemies, you don't stand for anything.
And will probably fall for anything. (funny how that works)

In harmony with scripture? If its not in harmony with scripture, reject it. If its in harmony with scripture, accept and obey.
KJV 1 John 2:4
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
KJV Isaiah 8:20
20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
Better, I think to put someone in our place, than to put them in their place.

Bible versus Bible. Who will win?John 1:10-13 ESV / 1,710 helpful votes
He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
Sometimes it's the only alternative if you can't find anyone intelligent enough to follow the conversation. - LOLYou know what they say about talking to oneself, right?
.
I'm remembering at least three women in Jesus life.
Did he get personal?

Is this some "strange" new teaching? - LOLUh, I think He got pretty personal with that woman at the well of Sychar. He even busted out a commandment on her.
Is this some "strange" new teaching? - LOL
Please elaborate. I don't remember that part.

Well...Well, I'm sure you know the story so, can there really be any doubt that He was talking about the 7th commandment? (John 4)

Well...
She was a Samaritan woman.
Was she obligated to the law that God gave to the Israelites alone through Moses?
And I don't see any indication that Jesus was preaching the law to her. So... ???

LOLFound just what TRIBE you're in .....the DIATRIBE of two.![]()
Question is which soil?Fair enough. The seed is sown. ;)
Question is which soil?
It is an interesting question though.
The Jews, of course, hated the Samaritan half-breeds.
But what was the attitude of Samaritans toward Israel and Jerusalem?
And the law of Moses, for that matter.
John 4:19-20 NIV
“Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet.
20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim
that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”

LOL
That's funny. I always LOVE a play on words.
I suppose I deserved that PUNishment.

Hmm... the Samaritan Pentateuch. Now there's a topic. - LOLI would say they were, to some degree, the Palestinians of their time. They were oppressed by the Jews but their sacred text was/is(?) their own Pentateuch—a very superficially and culturally modified version of the Torah. My memory isn't what it used to be so I'll have to reserve the right to be wrong about this - lol.
