It's just a poor denial of the truth that death does exist and mortals do die. Nothing changed regarding this in 70AD.

1Co 15:35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
1Co 15:36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
1Co 15:37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
The perishable body dies, yes, but we do not spend even a second in the state of death. As Paul says, the body that is sown perishable, it is raised imperishable; So, though we die, we do not actually experience death because we immediately move from one life into the next. So you could say that we "die", but you could also say that we don't actually die because we are immediately moved into the next life.

That isn't scriptural. The NHNE replaces the old heaven and earth. There is no temple in the NHNE.
It is scriptural, if you understand the symbolism. The new heaven and earth, replaced the old heaven and earth, yes, but the new heaven and earth is Jesus, and the old heaven and earth was the temple building.

So there is a new temple, and his name is Jesus.

John 2:20-22
20 They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” 21 But the temple he had spoken of was his body. 22 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

Do you deny that Jesus is the new temple?

Both are true. The city is literal, and represents the bride. A new heaven, a new Earth and a new Jerusalem. All are literal and real. Symbolic meanings do not take away from the literal.

Old Jerusalem is a literal city and so is new Jerusalem. All the new versions of things will be literal.

Not a literal city or a literal woman and there will not be a new Babylon in the eternity. satan's versions of things are counterfeit so the comparison is flawed from conception.
So you accept some symbolism regarding the city, but not others. How do you decide?

Yes, and it will bare a new fruit each month.
1. If this tree is to feed trillions of people, how big do you think this tree will be?
2. If we need to eat the fruit from this tree, in order to have life, then why did Jesus die?

The perishable body dies, yes, but we do not spend even a second in the state of death.

It's still true that people die, saved or not. While the soul and spirit are alive, the bible refers to them as the dead in Christ.

1Th_4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

As Paul says, the body that is sown perishable, it is raised imperishable; So, though we die, we do not actually experience death because we immediately move from one life into the next.

This is still wrong. People do experience death when they die. It is not a permanent status and the saved will not experience the second death.

So you could say that we "die", but you could also say that we don't actually die because we are immediately moved into the next life.

Death is when the mortal body stops living. It is a death and those who died this death are called "the dead" despite having a living soul and spirit.

When the bible speaks of the saved never dying, it is a reference to full and complete death, the second death, where body, soul and spirit are no longer alive.

Jesus will not be the NHNE. He will live on the new Earth though.

Of course I do. That is unscriptural nonsense. Our bodies are the temples of our soul and spirit. When Jesus resurrected, he was not "the new temple".

You are using too many unscriptural and imagined "ifs". Immortality is not based on what one eats.

It shows Gill believes the city is literal, being the tabernacle of God. You didn't quote the portion completely.
Gill explained the symbolism behind it and his words reflect his opinion that it was not literal. I didn’t quote the entire passage because I didn’t want to put up a wall of text and drowned out discussion. I find it quite odd, a literal city descending. Considering the vision was given in the spirit, I find it quite impossible and against proper hermeneutics

Exact citations (in quotes) proving what you claimed, not just links.
Sigh. Is it too hard to click the link? You prefer if I post it in here for you?

The traditional understanding is that the Temple is the place where heaven and earth meet, indeed this is what Jacob sensed when he woke up from his dream and saw angels going up and down a ladder, between heaven and earth (Bereishit 28:17)

Shaken, he said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the abode of God, and that is the gateway to heaven.”
The Malbim on this verse writes

Jacob understood that this place was the site of the future Temple... for the Temple is the ladder, whereby heaven and earth kiss each other. Man's worship ascends upward, and the Divine providence descends thereby.

I the spirit is alive after "death" then that means the person hasn't really died at all, because that person is the spirit. The person is wherever the consciousness is. And so if the spirit is alive, then the person is alive, not dead. Therefore, your definition of "the dead in Christ" does not fit here. The dead in Christ have to be dead. A spirit, on the other hand, is alive.

If you believe this, then you must believe that we do not live on as spirits after death, because dead is dead. Spirits are not dead.

When the bible speaks of the saved never dying, it is a reference to full and complete death, the second death, where body, soul and spirit are no longer alive.
I used to say the same thing, but I realize now that I was only saying it because it was the only way I could make sense of things. I had to believe that it referred to the second death, and so I convinced myself that this was true. Now I realize there's a much better explanation, which I've been trying to show you.

The fact is, dead is dead. Like a door knob. No consciousness. King Solomon said the dead know nothing, and he was right. That is death. Living on in spirit form is not death. That's life. Until you accept the definition of death, you will never make sense of it. So please understand what "dead" actually means. It means you have no consciousness. If you have consciousness, you are not dead. It's as simple as that.

And no, you can't say our body is dead but our spirit is alive, because we are not two parts that exist independently of each other. We are our consciousness, whether that consciousness is in a physical form or a spiritual form, there is still only one consciousness, and wherever that consciousness is, you are. If your consciousness is in spirit form, then you are a spirit, not a physical body, so even if the physical body is dead, you can not say that you are dead, because you are not that body.

You're right, immortality is not based on what one eats, so why then do you suppose there will be a literal physical tree with literal fruit? What would be the point of that? I'm trying to make it obvious to you that this is all symbolism, because if it's not symbolism then it makes no sense. Why are you having such a hard time seeing symbolism?

Why are you having such a hard time seeing the literal? Why did you assume huge amount of people eat from the tree of life when it doesn't say the fruit is for eating? Why does the city have gates and roads and have people traveling to walk in the city if the city isn't literal? Why is the Father and Son in the city on a throne? You don't explain any of this.

The Bible literally says "the temple he was speaking of was his body", so how can you say that he is not the new temple?

Because he wasn't. He was speaking of his body as a symbolic temple not the temple in Jerusalem made of stones. All of our bodies are the temple of God according to scripture. You are making the same error the people there did, thinking he meant the actual temple.
