(edited) If you say so, @ByGraceThroughFaith,

Just cowering down from a challenge to think for yourself - and just accept and believe whatever someone comes up with and says,

Is a defeating attitude, and one that doesn't want to try, to study, or look, or ask God about things that come about.

I would encourage you to do it differently.

Read the heck out of that bible... learn it, inside and out, you may never know everything but you can have a good general overview it is not impossible!

Love you.

All the best, and may God guide by the spirit to you,
Matthew

Are junkies in the street, demon possessed, are mentally ill people demon possessed, are transexuals demon possessed?

Or all of these people having stuggles in life and making their own choices?

Or is Satan in the back ground of the world waving his hands over it smiling still?

God promise was true or it wasnt concerning his defeat.

Could of these things happened in the past?

So many people live in fear.
Matthew, in a sense I was using "possessed" in a figurative sense - but in a sense, I wasn't. Chemical dependency IS a form of "possession" - and a form of slavery (John 8:34). You're in a very real battle to get free of your addictions, there is very real evil out there who wants to keep you (us!) enslaved, and you need to keep your head in the fight.

Jesus loves us and doesn't want us to be slaves in THIS world. We've been warned. Now stay alert.

Hello Lambano,

Good morning brother,

It's been two weeks now since using, I don't feel a "Battle" or I don't feel like it is difficult (cause of how many times it has happened). It's just I had to repent. There people out there that do battle though, especially if they are not willingly to give up something that hurts them, or others that possibly add to the hurt. You are right though, Chemical dependence is a form of possession.

It's not hard, you have to repent. Change your mind about doing it, when you realize all the consequences. That's right Jesus desires to seek out the Kingdom of God. Paul encourages us to not look towards the world but to heavenly. You also gotta have other distractions and other plans to do rather than drugs, one of mine is coming here I guess, its been a help, I praise God for that. There is also walking, exercises, reading, all those curb the addiction but some people dont have support and that is when it becomes really difficult.

Thank you for your encouragement,
Matthew

The temptations will come. Beware of the lions. Stay in the fight!

Why do you believe Satan still had a hold on this earth when Jesus kicked him out?
How did you arrive at this conclusion?
I suppose this has been resolved by now. (page 9)
The Apostle wrote this.

Ephesians 6:12 NIV
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

To anyone who just come by,

Another interesting thing about the Lord Jesus Christ, is that everything he knew about, His Father taught him.

@St. SteVen it was a promise by Jesus to have him kicked out. Did you know that?
Not that I recall.
Do you have a scripture stating that?
Perhaps you meant this one?

John 12:31 NIV
Now is the time for judgment on this world;
now the prince of this world will be driven out.

A couple more come up in John's gospel.
But no indication that Satan is gone.

I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world
is coming. He has no hold over me,

John 16:11 NIV
and about judgment, because the prince of this world
now stands condemned.

Yes. Jesus was offered up the world by Satan, and Jesus never said anything against that offer that was offered by him. The thought indicates he was the prince of the world at point in time. Jesus speaks of him being cast out of the Kosmos. I also could see the 'world' being talked about is the four corners of the eyes could see around that nations of the time. That being the judgement of Jerusalem which would come, just a few short 40 years later.
Do you know how to do a Bible search?
I can give you some instruction if need be.
Here is a link to the search I used to find the scriptures that I presented here.

The temptations will come. Beware of the lions. Stay in the fight!
(edited) @Lambano,

You are right, and they come from us, (and the world): Though people do not believe Satan is done away with yet, that is okay. That is between them and God - not them and the World.

James 1:13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

There is some good scripture though about the times when we become tempted,

1 Corinthians 10:13
13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

The ability to go to the Father in heaven through prayer, and supplications are always there - he will lead you to get out even while you endure in faith and hope and seeking God out.

Hebrews 4:15
15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.

When Jesus was being tempted on the mountain offered all the kings of the world, or when Jesus was abstaining from eating for 40 days, Satan said, turn those stones in to bread! What a temptation.

Sounds kind of what human beings can do - "Hey man if you take this you are a baby" - or a stronger word I can't use here! "Hey man if you don't answer my question why are you even here or sharing", all these can be temptations to rile the flesh, however (those who are in-tune with spirit can be discerning). Noticing them beforehand due to experience.

The world and what it provides can be the same way.
1 John 2:16
For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.

Therefore when temptations come, Paul encouraged Timothy

1 Timothy 2:1-3
1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Paul also encouraged timothy to keep studying in the old testament, in his second letter,

2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 every Writing [is] God-breathed, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for setting aright, for instruction that [is] in righteousness,

17 that the man of God may be fitted -- for every good work having been completed.

Satan did initially cast the first lie, but then from there - the choices lead to all mankind having sinned, from Adam seed, to Eve's egg - to Cain to Abel, now we all got to choose. And we all have lied before. We can be our own worst enemy - adveristy - oppressor - 'satan'. With all the temptation of the thoughts of the heart and mind as Jesus had said.

Mark 7
17 And when He later entered a house, away from the crowd, His disciples asked Him about the parable. 18 And He *said to them, “Are you so lacking in understanding as well? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the person from outside cannot defile him, 19 because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and [i]is eliminated?” (Thereby He declared all foods clean.) 20 And He was saying, “That which comes out of the person, that is what defiles the person. 21 For from within, out of the [j]hearts of people, come the evil thoughts, acts of sexual immorality, thefts, murders, acts of adultery, 22 deeds of greed, wickedness, deceit, indecent behavior, [k]envy, slander, [l]pride, and foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within and defile the person.”

All the best in Christ,
Matthew

Hey, even if I lose this argument, if you can recognize the temptations when they come, resist them, and get clean, I'll be happy. That's a win.

@St. SteVen,

The verse itself would be Revelation 20:10.
Here is how it looked at if you are genuinuely curious.image.jpg

Actually, this is a good point made.

If I accept Jesus as my Lord, God, Savior, and that connects me to the Father, and I receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit. If Satan is gone, Then my Salvation alone should be the Only Nature in me. So, why am I tempted to Sin? If the Originator of my Sin Nature is GONE, why am I still tempted to Sin?

By theory and reasoning alone, if Satan is gone, and I have God, I should never ever be tempted with Sin.

But I am tempted with Sin.

How can this be, if, Satan is gone, the Father of my Sin Nature?
