Paul is addressing Timothy, a young church leader.
Telling him not to address "foolish and stupid arguments" which "produce quarrels."

There are many unanswered questions in the Bible, some are profitable to explore, while others get argued profitlessly back and forth, while the more deeper principles of divine instruction are overlooked. The real teaching of Christ is hard on our nature, so naturally the flesh prefers to be distracted with anything which does not relate to the way of life. Paul's instruction to Timothy was wise council and Timothy would come to understand the incidental scenery of those many questions plays beautifully into the heart of man which is 'deceitful above all things.'

1) Would a good God punish me for asking the hard questions?

You seem to have a fixation on God and Punishment (interesting). Can you provide an example of a situation where you think punishment is warranted? What if your questions promoted needless angst and division? I've known some to push their own wheelbarrows at times, which if not in harmony with the agreed view (community) on that subject, can cause strife.

2) Why do I believe what I believe?

Evidence.

3) Is this a good reason to believe in this?

Absolutely without it how can you know anything?

4) Is belief, or faith, a good measure for morality?

The only measure.

5) Have I explored other religions to the extent that I explored Christianity?

Acts 4:12 why would you? (this is a dumb question - just saying!) though mindful many have varied experiences in coming to Christ.

6) What if you are the one in the wrong religion?

If you can provide a reason for the Hope which is in you and support that hope with real evidence...a question like this one which promotes doubt is just powerless.

7) How would my faith community react to my exploring these questions?

Not being an English scholar such as yourself, I looked up this word advice.

Apparently, advice is a noun that means guidance about what someone should do. Advise is a verb that means to provide someone with guidance about something.

What are your thoughts on how the word advise / advice should be used in the context of 2 Tim 2:23?

I agree with this point! Take the many times you have been shown to be incorrect when you posted a section of Scripture - bold, underline and italics the text inferring its saying one thing, only to show it actually meant the opposite. It's what the Lord did with the Pharisees over and over for 3.5 years...a few caught on but most perished.
