The renewing of our minds...that’s on us, that’s not the role of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit conforms us to the image of Christ...... I’m sure that’s what @Behold taught, correct me if I’m wrong,Brother?

Edit to add...I don’t understand all this “ WE” business @Lizbeth ....we don’t do anything, in being conformed into the image of Christ....how would “ WE” know how to be conformed into the image of Christ?

It’s the Holy Spirit, who conforms us into the image of Christ.....I know he does through the Spirit. as we have that new heart / Spirit with in...He indwells our spirit.......I see him at work in me, making me more and more like Jesus every day.

Praise Jesus for that...he’s the only one who gets any GLORY or PRAISE...I get. ZILCH....

Maybe better to come back and consider these things later when you aren't distracted, sis. If you're like me at all, it's hard to concentrate with a lot of distractions going on.

Amen....I sure do agree that we (meaning born again believers), only have the Holy Spirit due to being born of Him. And our job is only to "be ye" while it is the Holy Spirit who does the "transforming", ie, renewing. We just obey and follow and cooperate with the Lord and just be willing (like David prayed for a willing spirit) on our part. Sometimes having preconceived ideas that we aren't willing to let go of for whatever reason will get in the way of having our minds renewed to understand a matter, so we need to be willing. I equate renewing to being made spiritual. So the renewing of our mind is to have the mind of Christ, which is His spiritual mind understanding/perceiving spiritual things of God. And it's good to humbly keep in mind that we only know in part too. Amen, you're so right, we have nothing of ourselves, it is all from Him and to Him and for Him and all the glory is His alone!

Why are you bringing Catholic beliefs into this.....having our minds renewed only applies to born again believers. But even then we have differences because not everyone is understanding everything with the renewed mind (mind of Christ). Born again believers are often just understanding things in scripture with the carnal mind still. Like the disciples early on often didn't grasp what Jesus was saying. Having the mind renewed is not instant and automatic, or maybe more precise to say walking in that is not automatic and instant and total, it's something we grow and increase in.

Is it possible to not understand anything about Salvation, the blood of Jesus, the Cross of Christ, Redemption, forgiveness of sin.... and only post about Mary, and works and commandments and water baptism, and losing salvation, and hell not being real...and the bible is just one big "contradiction"....and these people actually be a Christian. ????

I said that the MIND is not renewed by being born again... is the idea.

The Spirit is born again, not the body or the mind.

Your mind has to be brought into the same perspective that God has, regarding what it means to be "made righteous".

God has a perspective , and that is the mind we have to maintain..

His perspective is.... "I have made you as righteous as i am, at all times by the Blood and Death of Jesus".

So, the believer has to get that MIND, and if they dont have it, they do not have the mind of God, nor the mind of Christ, and their mind is "flesh".

Catholics or anybody can't fall from what they never had.

Some Catholics are born again, some are not.
The issue with "the cult of Mary" is that they teach that water is the method of spiritual regeneration.

And that is a demonic lie... So, for those Catholics who trust in Water, then they are not born again, but some, have trusted in Christ and they are born again.

Its difficult to discern this about most devout Catholics as they are so brainwashed by this religion to the point that they can only "speak Catholic".

Being born again was not based on 'be good later", so, if you are not, you are still born again., as Salvation is a Gift., and a spiritual birth.

What I've been taught is that to renew our minds, we of course first, must be born again. Then know the scriptures well, this will surely renew your mind as the Holy Spirit quickens the words of God. Also, your discernment will get stronger, and you cannot easily be fooled if we continue to these things with prayer.

Jesus is Salvation.

He is what God our Father provided on the Cross so that We can "through Christ" and only "through Christ". John 14 6,... be eternally accepted by God = born again,. 'one with God".

Being BORN AGAIN, is not a "trial run" to see if we can be good enough to keep it.

Its not a TEST.... Its a GIFT.... "The GIFT of Eternal Life"... "The GIFT of Righteousness"... "The GIFT of Salvation"...

We dont keep Salvation.
Salvation is Jesus, and His Sacrifice that makes us acceptable to God and ALWAYS WILL.

God Keeps us, through the Cross. Through the BLOOD...of Jesus.

Yet what if i could quoate the gospel and yet followed and loved a jesus who honored and embraced my sins .
I TELL US ALL it would mean exactly what it did for me when i did it . I DIDNT KNOW HIM and WAS NOT SAVED .
WE better know for sure , ITS THE JESUS OF THE BIBLE we FOLLOW and LOVE , aka obey .
Cause any other jesus , as paul well knew , AINT GONNA save one .
YET today i see many hollering the gospel and yet saying I AM A GAY CHRISTAIN , GOD MADE ME THIS WAY
Now HONOR my path . NOW i tell us all this person has NO CONVICTION of their sin .
SO WHERE IS THE HOLY GHOST that has been promised to all believers . EXACTLY BEHOLD . IT AINT THERE .
SEE There is a huge difference between a repenant man and an unrpentant man .
ONE knows HIS SIN is SIN , HE dies daily . , the other EMBRACES HIS SIN , HONORS IT
and has NO CONVICTION OF HIS SIN . ONE IS TRUE the OTHER IS FALSE .
CAUSE TRUE BELIEVERS DO RECIEVE THE SPIRIT . AND IT CONVICTS US OF SIN . SO my reminder is this .
WE BETTER KNOW , LOVE AND EMBRACE the biblical JESUS , THE GOD OF THE BIBLE
the truth the apostels left us in said bible . OR we are as lost as i once was .
THE SPIRIT GOD GIVES TO BELIEVERS , DOES that which is pleasing to GOD , and SIN AINT pleasing to GOD .
I can do this , by grace all day . WHO WE OBEY IS WHOSE WE ARE . THE PROOF one has the SPIRIT
