Jesus said that the traditions of man doesnt mean anything compared to the heart?

Why are the traditions of men something that are not good? Does it block something from being done? People were suppose to be put to death if they dishonored their parents; yet the Pharisees in that time would make any excuse not to help them as their time was fortifing with God.

Learn to have mercy and not sacrficies??

The Traditions of man make the word of God, useless. "of none effect".

Simply.....

In other words...... Man Made = religion

God made = CHRISTian.


Man says...>"if you do this, and do that, and be good and try harder, then all that self righteousness is going to CAUSE GOD to take you and keep you.

That is : SELF righteousness, or RELIGION


God Says..

I came down from heaven... I became one of you to die on The CROSS for all of you. = Because your SIN has separated you from me. So, i went to the Cross to deal with all your sin, so that by my BLOOD and DEATH and RESURRECTION, i can have you again in my Spiritual Family, for ETERNITY.

That is : God's Redemption

That is CHRISTianity.

Jesus identifies the problem in Matt 15:9 "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men".

Most traditions of men are not "bad"; it's probably a good idea to wash your hands before you eat, but if you were to teach that it is service to God you'd be lying.


Matt 9:13 "But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." - Simply obeying God is just our duty, it in itself does not buy favor with God (see Luke 17:10). God wants a penitent heart: "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” - Psalms 51:17 (read vs. 51:16-19)

We should always be doing God's will. Our traditions can interfere with that.
