He is saying that if we take one part of the body away, the body can not work to its full potential..
Full potential? So there is a little potential without those members? I don’t see that is as what the warning is “not full potential”
But instead how will you see
How will you walk
how will you smell
How will you hear?
If that which lacks and has need is rejected?
We talk about the warnings of the parable of I was thirsty and you gave Me drink, I was hungry and you gave Me bread. Because when you do it to the least of these you do it as unto Me.
BUT then we say …the body won’t reach its full potential …saying there is a little potential reached without its members, but not its full potential missing vital parts. Vital parts are necessary is the message I hear. Otherwise it is vain religion and an idol that has no breath in it. There is a lot of talk about a gospel with no power in it.

John, you are always wrong here. That's nonsense, don't you know that yet?

I realize you prop yourself up by putting others down, but there is no need, don't you know that I have my thoughts concerning your, and these things won't change that? Do you not realize that you reinforce this impressions with all of your misguided posts?

Claim what you like. I know my Creator, and that is beyond your touch.

We see what we see . . . do we not?

Your claims for yourself do not exempt you from God's truth. If your best response is more disparagement as I reprove you for that very thing, be it on your head. If you are spiritual, you will recognize these truths.

Much love!
You are a very complicated person Mark...you come at people with both an inner man AND an outer man. It's hard to know who you are talking to...until you realize you are talking to both.

I don't mean to disparage your inner man...I don't. But I can't help seeing your outer man and his works too.

So this puts me in an impossible situation.

I can't agree with your outer man...and I can't ignore your inner man.

What I have found, over the years...is that you kind of get close to understanding something...like the 4 destinies recently. But then the outer man gets a say..,and all is shut down. So then what I see is that you (outer man) use your inner man as a lure...a facade...but the outer man is still fully in control. Your outer man is still way too strong for you to grow in the Lord. You will need more courage more faith to break that bond.

And I don't expect you to be honest here at all.

Notice I didn't kid around...but spoke to you straight? I did that for your inner man.

You don’t see a connection between “made with the works of men’s hands” and “made without hands”?
No.

I do not see the connection with that and the passage in 1 cor about the body of Christ
You see no connection between “idols” “the works of men’s hands” that can’t save
And God “made without men’s hands”
that can save?
See no connection with this an 1 cor passage about the body of Christ
To talk of what is cast into the fire to be burned up and destroyed…and what is not destroyed. How is there no connection between what is to be burned and destroyed …and that which remains? How can any talk about the warning of what is destroyed and burned …not even acknowledging what can’t hear, can’t see, can’t taste, can’t walk, can’t smell??? When that is very message being screamed of you better heed (hear, see, taste, smell, see) the warnings of what goes in the fire?
Now I am not sure what you are talking about.. Just being honest

I hear you sister. We are to look at the heart...as God does. Only religious bigots write people off for a lack of accuracy in one's beliefs. We will not be judged by our beliefs but against them. If we believe we are just as righteous as God...as some do here... then we will have to measure up EXACTLY to God...or else we will be condemned as imposters.

It's all about how we judge others...and what we claim for ourselves.

On this thread many here go easy on themselves...justify themselves ...and go hard on others...condemn others. That's exactly opposite to what the righteous do.

I'm surprised at your tenacity and courage to remain in a place where so much religious hatred has taken root.
So are you a Mormon?

This is talking about the body of Christ. Not individual people.

The hand is a person. The big toe is a person. The heart is a person.. all being built up as one body..

I post here with much less frequency than I used to :) I also simply skip majority of the scrabbles so common- they have no interest to me.

So this puts me in an impossible situation.
Maybe read my post again, with a more honest self reflection.

If you cannot admit to yourself your ways, what then?

What I have found, over the years...is that you kind of get close to understanding something...like the 4 destinies recently.
Interesting how you stopped wanting to discuss that when I began posting the passages, and information of what they are saying. Why was that? What made you turn from having a Scriptural discussion on this topic?

You say that my outer man shut it down. In fact you didn't choose to respond to a simple reading of the text, and looking at how it was written. Why wouldn't you want to read the Bible with understanding?

And I don't expect you to be honest here at all.

What does this do for you to say things like this? You need to understand this, and acknowledge to yourself what is true.

Much love!

A challenge for you here is you're interested: judge not a person by the label on the pew, especially labels put there by other people. Instead, look at each person individually and listen to their love of Christ. Jesus Christ is my Savior, my King, the center of my world. I love Him with every fiber of my being and strive to follow Him each day.
I judge no ones SALVATION for I can not read hearts.
Walks however can be judged bc the walk is where the fruit bearing commences.

If one is in the vine ( Christ) then good fruit will be produced by the Spirit living, breathing, thinking, praying, studying & DOING the words of God through the yielded
vessel !

Salvation is a free gift of God's grace to ALL whom ACCEPT it by faith. It is the BEGINNING, a new birth from the penalty of sin. To walk free from the power of sin we must walk/ live & learn by the Spirit of God. Moving forward, PRESSING TOWARDS THE MARK, never looking back to the world & sin.

It is every INDIVIDUAL'S walk, not judged by the corporation, the community, nor the affiliation but by the patience & suffering & willingness to follow the HEAD ( CHRIST) in every step of our daily lives !

march on in the LORD my friend . no lamb would utter such blasphmy as i have seen that man utter .
Point to CHRIST and do so till the last breath .
What I see in this individual is an inner man basically on life-support. His outer man is like a drunken hillbilly of sorts that lashes out at any and all perceived threats to that inner "lamb". There is no focus at all in his outer man...it just thrashes about willy-nilly like a drunken man...who is convinced that by slashing about he is indeed protecting his inner "lamb."

There is no discernment here. Just a vain repetition of slogans for fear that the poor inner lamb will be lost. And with its loss..so he too will be lost.

What this person doesn't realize is that the outer man is already condemned. All the "lamb" protection is just a mere self-preservation. The lamb doesn't need protecting...not by the flesh anyway...the lamb needs to grow up and push aside the hillbilly...by faith in an act of the will.

The "lamb" needs to get off life-support...and start standing up against the wild drunken hillbilly of an outer man.

Your outer man is still way too strong for you to grow in the Lord. You will need more courage more faith to break that bond.
You speak without understanding, and without discernment, as you speak falsely. If you are trying to play to your audience, you will continue with that play. If you are being honest and real, you will not. It's a simple thing, and you will reveal yourself in what you say.

I'm hoping that you will surprise me. I truly am! But we truly do know the tree by it's fruit.

Much love!

Yes fruit is evident for all to see and taste . Good fruit is delicious, pleasing to the eye and taste buds but bad fruit tastes bitter, rotten sour and does not look good. The inside will reveal the truth about the outside .

100% agree that salvation is a free gift from God. We love Him, and strive to follow Him because of that love.

I don't know you or your beliefs. I've just met a lot of people whom judge heavily on denomination going "you're an unsaved cultist!" based on nothing more than a label.

Ok. Again, we disagree. I see similarities in smell being spoken of as a savor of death to one and a savor of Life to another. God being sufficient. To me it stands out idols and those that make an idol like unto themselves. Can’t smell. That is only one where idols can’t. Another, I will walk in them. Idols don’t walk. Feet. Idols can’t come with the glorious gospel, because they can’t speak nor walk. Taste…idols can’t taste of the good word of that which is to come. For there is no Life in them, no breath. If that doesn’t connect to the body given in that passage of being given the Spirit of God to smell the savor, to taste His goodness, to feel after Him “handle Me” …then ok that is your perspective. Romans 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image (idol) made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

@Episkopos you do the very thing Jane describes by mocking us here with labels like luther, calvin, Protestants etc …..
