The one instance I can see that a crucifixion might be argued is this:

John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

And that says that potentially the crucifixion is a symbol of life. So I'm not sure using a symbol of one can be called evil.

I believe that the early church was hijacked and apostatized and morphed into the worldly institution known as the Catholic Church. I view anything and everything about them through very skeptical eyes and that includes the crucifix. But, again, these are simply my personal views and nobody should permit my personal opinions to upset them. Just write me off as a crazy old kook and keep on trucking!

Just my opinion. People question my beliefs here all the time but I don't get upset or call other people names. Why can't others do the same? After all, is this not a DISCUSSION forum? My dad was a faithful Catholic and a very Godly man. He passed away in 2015 at the age of 80. I have many friends and family that are Catholic and they're all upright people.

We know the cross is holy but the crucifix looks more like a trophy that Satan would hang in his office. Satan has used God's children to mock God by wearing and displaying the crucifix. As a Catholic for 50 years, I was one of them. As an altar boy I sometimes carried the crucifix to the altar with a priest in tow.

To my Catholic brothers and sisters, it's not my intention to provoke or offend. I hope that we can agree to disagree and still be brothers and sisters in Christ.
