Sadly, This is a major issue in the church. The church has not really strayed that far from where Israel was in the time of Christ. It thinks it is special. it has arrived. Thank God I am not like the sinner (even though you are)
the pride of many who call itself the church is outlandish. and sad.
Jesus said I did not come to Judge, I came to save.. Yet the church thinks we are sent out to Judge..
I like what Paul said in romans 2. Even though it was written to the proud jews. I believe it fits much of the church today.
2 Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. 2 But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. 3 And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? 4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? 5 But in accordance with your hardness and your [a]impenitent heart you are [b]treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
Oy! Are you a disciple of
amigo de christo? He condemns the church -- the body of Christ -- in a similar fashion. Who are you to rail against
the body of Christ? The church are
His people, the sheep of
His pasture.
You condemn people for judging,
yet you are doing exactly the same thing! Read you chosen Scripture and pay attention to how it applies
TO YOU!!! "Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things ... And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? ... But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath".
As I have suggested several times to
amigo de christo, you should read and heed the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector in Luke 18:9-14, "Jesus also told this parable
to some who were confident that they were righteous and looked down on everyone else. “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee] and the other a tax collector The Pharisee stood and prayed about himself like this: ‘
God, I thank you that I am not like other people: extortionists,
unrighteous people, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of everything I get.’ The tax collector, however, stood far off and would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, be merciful to me, sinner that I am!’ I tell you that this man went down to his home justified rather than the Pharisee.
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
