You mean the 'masters of the law' - given to them by your god? You mean the Law that Jesus said must be followed - every whit and tittle, unto the ending of the world? You must be a Paulist instead of a Christian. Paul is the one that gives you the easy road of tossing out those onerous Laws. Jesus stated otherwise. When they contradict each other, who do you follow? Paul, or your Lord and Savior?

Evangelizing means to preach the gospel or bring someone to Christianity. So no, but you have the gist of it. I seek to bring people to Truth. Most will deny the Truth, but some accept it. That's always a good result.
If you actually sought to bring people to the truth you would be a Christian, not an atheist. John 14:6, "Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Oh, back again! Lacking the discipline to actually ignore me, huh? Too funny. But thanx for the warning. It's a very compelling argument.....
I ignore what I choose to ignore, which is most of your posts. I respond when I am motivated by the Lord to do so.

Yes, of course they deny Jesus. And unlike you, I know the legitimate reasons why they deny Jesus. Clearly you haven't been able to follow the ball here. Your emotional claim that they despise him is, of course, vacuous. If and when you bother do to an honest study of actual Messianic prophesy - there is a chance you will see the Truth. I can only lead you to the water. You have to have the intellectual integrity to drink.

I believe all kinds of scripture. I believe the OT scripture that proves Jesus is not the Messiah. I believe the scripture that calls for Christians to love their enemies - and wonder at why they consistently ignore it. I just don't believe scripture from NT authors that are proven frauds. It's simply discernment. A life skill you would benefit from acquiring.

What you believe is twisted into your agenda from the Scripture.

But no worries, anyone can see that agenda, along with the pride that drives it.

You delude yourself when you claim to believe "all kinds of scripture". Claiming that OT scripture proves Jesus is not the Messiah clearly shows your inability (or more properly, disability).

And then you follow it with a sentence about Christians loving their enemies! Unbelievable! Even though it's in both Testaments, you clearly choose to ignore it over and over!!!

And then you're compelled to follow it with more hatred, calling the Jews who wrote the New Testament "proven frauds"! Proven by whom???

It is truly simply discernment to know the truth in Christ. A life skill you would benefit from acquiring.

John, a faithful Jew, wrote in John 14:6, "Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me".

I'm sure believing that gives you comfort.
That is your opinion, "almah" means a young woman/a virgin.

This prophesy was given to Isaiah as a rebuttal in the efforts of Satan working through the kings of Syria and Israel to do away and unseat Ahaz.

Ahaz was the seed of David and king of Judah. they were trying to make void (through the work of Satan) the promise of God given to David that his seed (Christ) would rule the Kingdom forever.
Cool. It's also the 'opinion' of every Jewish scholar - the undisputed experts on the OT, as well as every honest Christian scholar - which you clearly are not. Oh wait - those nasty Jews killed Jesus. You don't have to listen to them anymore. Convenient. So here you are, defending a prophesy you don't even understand - and don't realize it failed.

Do you really enjoy spewing this hatred and intolerance? Clearly you are motivated by Satan!

The KJV translates Strong's G3933 in the following manner: virgin (14x).
Outline of Biblical Usage [?]
  1. a virgin
    1. a marriageable maiden
    2. a woman who has never had sexual intercourse with a man
    3. one's marriageable daughter
  2. a man who has abstained from all uncleanness and whoredom attendant on idolatry, and so has kept his chastity
    1. one who has never had intercourse with women

There really is no purpose in trying to explain the truth to Gaffer. He is spiritually blind and motivated by hatred to attack Christians. I ignore most of what he posts, as it is vicious garbage.

I was once like him -- cynically, angry, taking every opportunity to attack people of faith, especially Christians. But eh Lord had a better idea for my life. He broke through to me when I was helpless in the hospital by healing my body and saving my soul. Perhaps the same thing will happen to Gaffer; who knows?

By his very participation in a Christian forum it is an indication that at least part of him is searching for truth and peace. He presents as all-knowing, but clearly he knows nothing.

Well, Jim, I'm not actually explaining to @Gaffer, I'm explaining to those who may be confused by his lies.

I thought an excellent topic for Apologetics is how to counter the reason the Jews reject Jesus. Form SIX REASONS WHY JEWS DON'T BELIEVE IN JESUS:
Reason #1 – The Messiah must be from the Tribe of Judah and a Descendant of King David AND King Solomon – Jesus did not qualify.
Reason #2 – Ingathering of the Jewish Exiles – Jesus did not do this.
Reason #3– Rebuilding of the Holy Temple – Jesus failed to achieve this.
Reason #4– Worldwide Reign of Peace – Jesus did not accomplish this.
Reason #5 – Observance of the Torah Embraced by All Jews – Jesus didn’t bring this about.
Reason #6 – Universal Knowledge of G-d – Jesus clearly failed here also.
I believe a bridge to fellowship begins by saying we can understand how they can look at it this way. However, there is another sense in which the story of Jesus qualifies as the true Jewish Messiah. Thoughts?
Luke 19: 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”, John 8:31 - The Truth will Set You Free

You quote a shill for Christianity. That's very close to claiming "The bible is true because the bible says it's true." You did this because you cannot refute the claim that Isaiah would have used the common word for virgin - bethulah - if he had meant to describe a virgin. That's why Christianity is so dependent on Apologetics. When faced with the obvious frauds, redactions, interpolations, and outright lies in your bible, your only choice is to invent 'apologies' to explain them away. That's a large part of why you guys are so often stomped like narcs at a biker rally when it comes to intelligent discourse. Do you ever wonder why there has never been a need for Apologetics in Science? That's a rhetorical question....

The New Testament authors took directly from Isaiah the word "haalmah" in the Hebrew, which means "virgin."

That word translated into the Greek is "parthenos" and I have given the definition for it.

You are wrong. And you're making a habit of it.

Highlight - Almah (עַלְמָה‎ ‘almā, plural: עֲלָמוֹת‎ ‘ălāmōṯ), from a root implying the vigour of puberty, is a Hebrew word meaning a young woman ripe for marriage;[1] despite its importance to the account of the virgin birth of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, scholars agree that it refers to a woman of childbearing age and has nothing to do with virginity.[2] It occurs nine times in the Hebrew Bible.[3]

How much more of a hole will you dig yourself into?

Luke (or should I say the Holy Spirit) applied "parthenos" directly to Mary.

Luke 1:34

"Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?"

@Gaffer

A good rule to apply and understand, is that the prophet in most cases does not understand the given prophesy.

The understanding is given in the New Testament, in other words, the New Testament explains the prophesies of the Old.

This is the case with the virgin birth of Christ, and many other things.

Well, 2 different things. Just because Mary was a virgin does NOT mean it was prophecied.
