So having finally started your tattoo journey, are you actively planning to go back to the young man who tattooed you for the first time - maybe for something overtly faith based?

it is becoming a norm with health professionals...It is becoming a tool people are using to let others identify their faith. ..I do like the idea of Christian based tattoos

And when funds permit, a coming of age inking strong urge does so often seem to start at 18.

I just enjoyed getting high. It’s something I was introduced to around 16. I can become very addicted to weed. It’s a suppression of all emotions and thoughts for me.

I see; my post was actually talking about tattoos, not weed.

I do think this verse is challenging: "Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world" (Titus 2.12); verse 13, speaking of the believer's 'blessed hope', follows on. Some believers find that a modestly placed faith based tattoo can act as a witness tool to 'be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear' (1 Peter 3.15).

The inward and spiritual reality should indeed be there before anyone wants to use a faith based tattoo as a witness tool.

All the young ppl with Bible verses tattooed with whom I have spoken seem to have received them as witness tools, anyway.

My mother in law had her eyebrows tattooed. Afterward she often looked surprised.

from back @marks I think your post is a reminder that there are rather vastly different degrees of tattooing. Some of it would be widely regarded as rather benign - as maybe of the variety you described.

So really many ppl will think it's a case of liking/disliking some tattoos on some ppl rather than all tattoos on all ppl, etc.

@MatthewG Oh I agree that they are not necessary as such; it's the power of the Word of God and the personal testimony that count, indeed.

Bible verse tattoos, etc. do in many ppl's experience make for effective tools in witness conversations. Not least because they are so widespread that getting a tattoo is hardly out of the ordinary. So many Christians thus embrace the opportunity.

They are sometimes perceived to be so effective, even, that older Christians have been known to regret not having gotten one years previously:

The problem is many people mix the law of Christ with their own personal conscience, can causes unnecessary grievances.

Hi @robert derrick Yes; inevitable, some Christians are going to prefer one thing and some another:
