Micah was prophesying to the Northern kingdom of Israel and the Southern kingdom of Judah about their idolatry and sins, long before 725 B.C when Israel was destroyed by Assyria, about how Israel would be destroyed and Jerusalem would go into captivity in Babylon later, but be restored again.
Typical of the prophets (Isaiah included), Micah introduces a subject (Israel and its idolatry and sins), interrupts it with another, but related subject (Jerusalem and its idolatry and sins), and yet another (Assyria's destruction of the Northern kingdom), and even another (Jerusalem's destruction at the hand of her enemies), and yet another (Judah's restoration from Babylonian captivity), and even another (the coming of the Savior in the far distant future, who will be born in Bethlehem), and another (Israel being scattered among the nations).
He oscillates between the one and the other all along.
All the prophets do this - and they employ simile, metaphor and hyberbole as language style all the way, in-between.
.. and the modern software apps of modern Dispensationalism and Pre-Tribulationism have created for many a magical mouse that can either highlight and drag all these prophecies out of their historical and contextual place into a folder titled "The end of our age and the return of Christ", or simply cut 'n paste the same prophecies into another folder where it does not belong - and the mouse does this all by itself.
It's amazing what can be done with coding and software and apps. Amazing, and those who use the software have created all kinds of virtual reality caves for themselves which they call "Biblical scripture and the prophets".
What's cool though is that their caves don't all look the same (although some do copy others), but most of the virtual-reality 'biblical prophecy' caves they create by cutting prophecies out of their historical context 'n pasting them where they don't belong are different shapes and sizes and different colors with different interior designing. Some appear a lot more "spiritual" than others.
