Faith in God's promise of a Son all by itself MAKES a person righteous. Just as that was true for Abraham.for justification?
@Angelina By spirit baptism, I would understand the term to mean the new birth (John 3), when the Holy Spirit comes to indwell (Romans 8:9).
Faith in God's promise of a Son all by itself MAKES a person righteous. Just as that was true for Abraham.

Okay brother @Bible Highlighter ...I think it is best we agree to disagree, sister. Still love you as a fellow Christian in Christ (although I disagree).
Peace and blessings be unto you in the Lord.
not the gospel!
Mk 16:16
you can’t answer these questions
“Faith alone”
Questions
where does scripture says we have died with Christ by “faith alone”?
Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
where does scripture say we are members of Christ and his church by “faith alone”?
1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
where does scripture says we put on Christ by “faith alone”?
Galatians 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Where does scripture say our sins are washed away by “faith alone”?
Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
where does scripture say we are saved or justified by “faith alone”?
1 pet 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us!
The only reference in scripture to “faith alone” is James 2:24 NOT BY “FAITH ALONE”?
2 pet 1: 11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
How can you enter by your own if it must be ministered to you? Baptism is done unto you, “not do it yourself by faith alone”
Jn 3:5 born again by faith alone?
Where is “Accept Christ as your personal lord & savior” is found in scripture?
They did not go preaching this line but went immediately to the river and baptized Jn 3:22
Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
Galatians 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Eph 4:5 one baptism
Why don’t it say one teeny tiny little act of “faith alone”???
When we first believed we are saved?
Romans 13:11
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
How can salvation be nearer than when we first believed if you’re saved by believing?
1 pet 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
Matt 24:13 endures to the end Shall be saved.
How can salvation happen when we first believed if it’s the end?
If salvation is by “faith alone” then faith would be the greatest!
1 cor 13:13 charity is the greatest!
Even all faith much less “faith alone” without charity avails nothing!
1 cor 13:2
I believe Paul was referring to how we are Initially Saved in Romans 4:3-5. If you keep reading in Romans 4, it says:
“And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.”
(Romans 4:21-22).
It says that when Abraham was fully persuaded (first believed) and then he (Abraham) was also able to perform and THEREFORE it was imputed to him for righteousness. Meaning, both his belief and his performance (Which was a part of his faith) was what led to Christ’s righteousness being imputed to him. Further proof? 1 John 1:7. if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. Hebrews 11:7 also describes what faith is like. It says by faith Noah prepared an ark to the saving of his house. So this is also what faith looks like. Boasting is excluded when it comes to the faith (See: Romans 3:27). Therefore, the boasting of works in Ephesians 2:9 are not works done in faith. Ephesians 2:8-9 is also talking about our Initial Salvation, as well (See: Ephesians 2:1 and keep reading).
Again, this is not the Catholic Church or the Church of Christ’s understanding here on salvation. They both deny being initially saved by God’s grace without works (Which is a bold denial of many verses in Scripture). They falsely believe a work (water baptism) is what gets them first saved (When in reality the Bible teaches we are first saved by God’s grace without anything that we did or could boast about). The gospel is 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. But the gospel also calls us, too (2 Thessalonians 2:14). This call is… God has chosen you to salvation through the Sanctification of the Spirit and a belief of the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:13). For God’s grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and that we should live righteously and godly in this present world (Titus 2:11-12).
Paul distinguishes between water baptism and the gospel in 1 Corinthians 1:17. Therefore, baptism cannot be a part of the gospel. Granted, the gospel reveals the righteousness of God and this can take the form of doing righteous acts of faith (like baptism) after we are first saved by God’s grace (without works) in our INITIAL Salvation in accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior alone (and not Mary). Mary cannot save you. Only Jesus can. Seek the Lord Jesus alone and follow His Word alone and not the traditions of men (Which is what your church is unfortunately teaching). Anyways, I love you in Christ, but I simply don’t like the teachings of your church because they are seriously unbiblical.
Peace be unto you in the Lord.
There's nothing about "immersion in the Spirit" in those verses. Let me make a dark comparison from the torture called water boarding. In water boarding, water is poured over a face covered with cloth so that water is filled into the victims mouth and lungs. They would drown if unable to cough and spit the water out, yet they aren't immersed. It says it here:
21...Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened, 22and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in a bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.” Luke 3:21-22
"1Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness" Luke 4:1
At one time the practice of adult baptism was condemned and persecuted. "Anabaptists" were considered heretical, but I'm not familiar with their accepted doctrines.Every believer needs to obey the Lord's command to be water baptized. It's the beginning of a believer's public testimony and witness. I don't know why some people are so offended by the command. They need to just do it and stop whining and rationalizing why they don't have to.
That describes two baptisms and disagrees with the Nicene creed, based upon a literal understanding of scripture. The experience is definitely that of being overcome and immersed in the Holy Spirit. Soaked in it (Him). Immersed in everything the Holy Spirit is. It's an infilling. Like when a natural person is overcome and filled with, say, lust, or greed, or jealousy. This experience of the Spirit is to be distinguished from simply having the Holy Spirit quietly residing in you in salvation. This is an overflowing of the Spirit in and out of a person.
"Streams of living water will flow from within him. ” John 7:38
No, it's what GOD was able to perform, not Abraham. It says that when Abraham was fully persuaded (first believed) and then he (Abraham) was also able to perform and THEREFORE it was imputed to him for righteousness.
It would be great if everybody received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in power at water baptism, but that's just not what happens. We don't teach that anymore so there is no faith present to solicit that outpouring of the Spirit. Now the Spirit in you is just a head knowledge thing. You know it's there, and that's all. That describes two baptisms and disagrees with the Nicene creed, based upon a literal understanding of scripture.
Pray to God for a baptism of power of the Holy Spirit. Then you'll understand what words can not convey.
Making verses fit your understanding is eisogesis, not exegesis. (But we all do it, until we don't. )
There is only "one baptism" Ephesians 4:5 (nothing to replace).Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?
Some Christians hold to the belief that Spirit baptism replaces water baptism. I recently held to this belief but I reverted back to my old position that we are to water baptize others and be water baptized.
1) Avoiding being water baptized, Correct? My objection isn't to baptism of the Spirit, but to spiritual baptism as it's used, to justify avoiding being baptized.
IF "word games" stop, perchance understanding begins? It's just a word game of sorts, but as I pointed out, there is no scripture that actually says that we are immersed in the spirit, at least not in any translation that I've read.
Ok then, agree, so let's explore for a moment:There's only one true interpretation of any verse or passage (though many potential applications of the truth revealed), and we frequently circle the truth without hitting the mark.
No, it's what GOD was able to perform, not Abraham.
You said:Abraham was so sure that God would do what he said he would do that he knew even the death of Isaac would not prevent God from doing it. And so his obedience to offer Isaac up on the altar justified him as having the righteousness that comes by faith in God. His obedience did not make him have the righteousness of God. His faith in God's promise did that all by itself. His obedience only showed that he had the righteousness that comes through faith in God.
There is only "one baptism" Ephesians 4:5 (nothing to replace).
Water baptism is only practice symbolizing being crucified and raised from the dead with Christ, and a way of spreading the good news of salvation through Christ Jesus.
mk 16:16 is not in the gospel???
no one is saved until the end!
Matt 24:13 endures to the end.
Mark 13:13
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
Heb 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Heb 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
1. Romans 11:22 – God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness
2. Colossians 1:21-23 – holy and blameless, if you continue in the faith"
3. The race of faith: the example of Paul
4. Hebrews 12:22-25: "we shall not escape if we turn away from Him"
5. Hebrews 4:1-3, 9-12: "strive to enter the rest of God"

7. Hebrews 10:23-29, 35-39: "if we sin willfully", "if anyone draws back".
8. Matthew 24:13: He that endures to the end, the same shall be saved
9. Hebrews 3:4-6: Holding fast our confidence firm until the end
10. Matthew 24:13: "But the one who endures to the end will be saved"
11. 1 John 2:24-25 – "if what you heard from the beginning abides in you"
12. 2 John 8-9 : to "everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ
13. 2 Peter 1:5-11 : "Make every effort to supplement your faith"
14. Philippians 2:12-16: "work out your salvation with fear and trembling"
15. 1 Timothy 6:10-16: the love of money
16. Galatians 5:2-4 "Severed from Christ"
17. 2 Timothy 2:11-13: "if we deny him, he will also deny us"
18. James 5:19-20: the wandered brother
19. Some will abandon the faith
20. 1 Timothy 5:8: "he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever"
22. The real family of Jesus: "Those who hear the Word of God and do it"
23. 1 Corinthians 5:5: "so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord"

25. Jude: "Turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness" - a much relevant warning
26. 1 Cor. 9:27 ....Lest I myself might become a castaway
27. Heb 1:14 shall be heirs of salvation
Romans 1:5
By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
(Must remain obedient)
(He who endured to the end) one who dies in a state of grace united to Jesus Christ by faith and baptism!
Mk 16:16 acts 8:36-38 1 pet 3:21
Matt 24:13
Romans 13:11
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
So salvation by “faith alone” is completely false and impossible if baptism is rejected!
“Faith alone”?
Charity
Deut. 6:5
5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
1 Corinthians 16:22
If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema.
Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
John 14:28
Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
1 cor 13:2 all faith without charity avails nothing.
1 cor 13:12 now abide faith, hope, and charity, and the greatest of these is charity.
If salvation was by “faith alone” then faith would be the greatest!!!
If we are saved by faith alone then when we first believed we would be saved?
Romans 13:11
…our salvation nearer than when we believed.
1 Corinthians 16:22
If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.
Matt 5 the merciful obtain mercy!
1 Peter 4:8
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
