One test would be how firmly do you believe that, could there possibly be any other explanation iyo, etc bc i tell you that it is even phrased the way it is, rather than the way we would normally title that, “Lazarus and the Rich Man,” indicates that it is meant as a parable, putting the Rich Man first lol

It is indeed literal! God said it. Just like John 3:16. God won't ask anyone's permission to burn them in Hell "forever and ever". Just like He didn't ask anyone's permission to drown everyone on Earth but 8, including babies and children.

Its not the only one I use though...I like to use different Bibles as its interesting to compare and see if they agree with the Hebrew or Greek text. Have you ever done that?

And scholarship and linguistic studies have vastly improved since that old thing was first printed. Its a dinosaur....time to bury it.
