WRONG.

The Sabbath isn’t even mentioned in Scripture until Exodus 16 – and it points to the EUCHARIST.
Here's why Scripture places the beginning of the Sabbath not in Exodus, but in Genesis:

At Sinai, it says God "blessed the Sabbath day".

QUESTION: WHEN DID GOD BLESS THE SABBATH DAY? AT SINAI? NO, IN GENESIS, AS PROVED BELOW:

2 Chronicles 17:27 KJV says when God blesses, "It shall be blessed forever." Since Genesis says God blessed the 7th day, it is then that the Sabbath day was blessed because God's blessings are potent to last throughout eternity - He doesn't need to bless anything twice because the first one didn't take or because they're so impotent they need a booster shot.

Just giving him some advice – that maybe YOU should heed as well:
If you don’t know what you’re talking about – or WHY you believe it – then don’t bring it up in a conversation.
It makes you look like a fool . . .

LOL... So many appropriate adjectives applicable to you,
So little space.

The PURPOSR of the Sabbath for the Jews and the REASON for keeping it holy is NOT because it was the day that God rested. It is because He gave it to THEM to rest and to pray:
Ex 16:23-30
He said to them, “This is what the Lord commanded: Tomorrow is to be a day of sabbath rest, a holy sabbath to the Lord. So bake what you want to bake and boil what you want to boil. Save whatever is left and keep it until morning.’”
So they saved it until morning, as Moses commanded, and it did not stink or get maggots in it. “Eat it today,” Moses said, “because today is a sabbath to the Lord. You will not find any of it on the ground today. Six days you are to gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will not be any.”
Nevertheless, some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather it, but they found none. Then the Lord said to Moses, “How
will you[a] refuse to keep my commandlongs and my instructions? Bear in mind that the Lord has given you the Sabbath; that is why on the sixth day he gives you bread for two days. Everyone is to stay where they are on the seventh day; no one is to go out.” So the people rested on the seventh day.

THIS is why Jesus said:
Mark 2:27-28
“The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”

Not only do you NOT know who Constantine was – you have absolutely NO idea what you THINK he did to the Church. And if you think he destroyed or perverted the Church – then you believe Jesus is a big fat LIAR for guaranteeing that His Church would NOT succumb to darkness (Matt. 16:18).

How did Jesus build His church that the gates of hell will not prevail?

Jesus built His Church through His Apostles.

His Church was born o Pentecost in Acts 2, not long after His Ascension – but He built it by His sacrifice on the cross and His glorious ResurrectionBOTH of which were crucial in the establishment of His Church,

he appointed Peter as its earthly leader (Matt. 16:18, John 21:15-19) and the rest of the Apostles as the first Bishops (Acts 1:20). They in turn, evangelized and appointed successors. Jesus appointed Paul to evangelize the Gentiles. He also proliferated the Episcopate by appointing successors.

And if you actually READ your Bible – you would know that it is largely SILENT ojn this matter.
Actually I read that life was created very quickly and finished within a few 24 hour days and on the 7th day, God said it was good. He didn't say, He started things out with simple life forms and they developed into more complex forms after hundreds of millions of years.

I reject that HUMANS evolved from something another species
Good, I guess tha leaves grandma Lucy out of the picture.

I feel the same way about you when you appeal to Colossians 2:14-16 KJV as "proof" that the weekly Sabbath was abolished. You do that because you fail to realize the context of that passage is talking about "shadows of things to come" in the future, not memorials pointing back to the beginning during Creation Week...

...and is talking about things that were "against us" which refers to the Mosaic Law, not the Ten Commandments which contain blessing and promises...

...which was written by the hand of Moses, not the finger of God...

...and was written in a book, while the Ten Commandments were written on tables of stone...

...and placed separately outside the Ark, not inside with the Tables of Stone...'

...all of which is mentioned in Deuteronomy 31:24-26 KJV.

No, the Catholic church denies the change is found in Scripture, and makes it her boast that by her authority alone changed the Sabbath commandment from the 7th day to the 1st day, thus disqualifying her as the "remnant church" which is identical to the church Jesus established and crushes all hope of tracing Catholicism back to Him.

I will mimic your favorite quote....WRONG!

John 14: 1-6 reads:

1) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2) In my Father's are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4)
And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5) Thomas sayeth unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Matthew 12:29 reads:

"Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, (Satan's domain) and spoil his goods, except he first binds the strong man? and then he will spoil his house."

The passages above, therefore is the methodology by
which the Lord Jesus built His church that the gates of hell cannot prevail, by going to the cross!

What a bankrupt and ignorant interpretation of the Word of Christ.
In this passage, He is NOT saying, “I came here to cause division within my Church – and that’s a GOOD thing!”

He is saying that those who follow Him will be ostracized from their loved ones who DON’T follow Him. The “division” He’s talking about here is NOT among His followers – but between His followers and the REST of the world.

The CONTEXT is found in the following verse:
John 15:118
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.

STOP
quoting Scripture until you understand what it MEANS . . .
Mmm. I can imagine your church leaders saying something similar in the 16th century as they burned people at the stake in England for the crime of teaching their children the Lord's prayer in English.

I think the Catholic Church made their first mistake when they misunderstood Jesus when He said, "On this rock I will build my church." The context clearing points to Jesus referring to Himself. They identified Him as the Son of God. He is the cornerstone. He is the Rock of our salvation. It is all about Jesus.. The Holy Spirit began to build the Church and continues. People build nothing spiritually. That is God's department, they just spread the gospel and love one another.
Peter was just one of the Apostles, the one who denied Jesus three times, the one who Jesus had to set him straight ( chastising him in a way) by asking if He loved Him three times. Paul actually did a vastly amount more work to spread the Gospel through the world than Peter. Peter even later needed further rebuke from Paul for appeasing the Judaisers. That was Peter, putting his foot in his mouth, making mistakes and I'd imagine that is probably why he only wrote two books.
Peter was not the first Pope! And I do not believe such an administration was ordained by God. HE would not award so much power and responsibility to one person. It takes thousands of Church leaders to do His work. The Holy Spirit is in charge! Actually, the word Pope is not in the Bible. I have seen Apostle, Priest and Bishop. Guess they thought to add that authority. Whatever, they can have their Pope. He should be called Pope Peter. Francis of Assisi was born Giovani Pietro Bonardone. His father did not want anything to do with the Church nor did he want his son to be named after Apostles. He was away in France at the time of his son's birth. But Giovani Pietro was already named by God.
His father was fond of France so he changed his name to Francisco.

I think Protestants would consider the validity of the RCC if the following modifications were actually in Scripture:
Matthew 28:19m Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, devoted to lifelong fielty to the Roman Catholic Church, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,.
1 COR 11:3m But there is one thing I want you to know: The head of every man is the Roman Catholic Church, the head of the Roman Catholic Church is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

The absence of such reference seems germane to the claim of validity of this 12th century institution, as current organized.

m - modified for RCC delight.
I know someone who started writing a "New Roman Catholic Dictionary Of Words/Phrases" where his entries were presented as redefined by the RCC:

"all" means "all except Mary" (Romans 3:23)
"Scripture" means "everything the Pope says when speaking Ex Cathedra" (2 Timothy 3:16)
"faith alone" means "faith and total submission to the authority of the pope (Ephesians 2:8)
"call no man father" means "call every priest and pope father" (Matthew 23:9)
"Christ suffered once" means "Christ is crucified twice a day in morning and evening mass (1 Peter 3:18)
"repent and be baptized" means "sprinkle infants who know nothing except hunger and sleep" (Acts of the Apostles 2:38)

If I remember any more of what he wrote, I'll add them here lol ;)

Correct. But then the Catholic church compounded its false teachings by adding error to error and mixing paganism with Christianity. The end result was a pagan Christianity.

Divisions arise for two reasons: (1) saved vs unsaved and (2) true doctrines vs false doctrines. And as both Jesus and Paul said, divisions are unavoidable. The Catholic church went off the rails a long time ago. And later on the Protestant mainline denominations also went off the rails. So every person must study the Scriptures and see what the various denominations believe and practice.

Several churches in the first century went off the rails - it was no different than today!
Keep in mind the Seven letters to the First Century Churches. Two were righteous and Jesus did not rebuke them, Philadelphia and Smyrna.
Ephesus was an orthodox church with good doctrine, but forgot their first love. This was to be expressed as brotherly love. Pergamos was a worldly church with false doctrines, sin and materialism.
Thyatira tolerated sin and was undisciplined.
Sardis was a dead church with no fruit or growth and only a few in that church were saved.
Laodicea was lukewarm, self-sufficient, in their comfort zones, tooting their own horns when they do something nice, went to church to be seen and accepted and gave out of their abundance. Many Christians today live like the Laodiceans.
These types of churches did not just exist back then, these were all Church-Types that existed throughout the Church Age.
Most of us would prefer to identify with the Philadelphia church. I feel my church was like this, a faithful church.
In some Islamic countries, Christians are severely persecuted - like in Smyrna.

Also when we try to consider how divided we are, why we separate ourselves, we can further dissect each church's individuals. Each one of us within each church holds different beliefs, has their own sin and path that is unique to the them. Within one church you can have a group who are faithful like the Philadelphians, but also a few like any of the rest. We all have faults in every church no matter what denomination. Yet Christ is forgiving and factors all our blunders into His plan. As long as we have faith in Christ, the Author of our faith will finish it. Spiritually, as born again Christians, the Body of Christ is pure. It is our flesh where sin dwells and we will soon be rid of that.

WRONG.

The Sabbath ISN’T simply a “memorial” as I showed you from Scripture in post #99.
It is a TYPE that points to Jesus and the Eucharist. This is precisely what Paul is talking about in Col. 2:16-17 about hos Christ FULFILLED all of the shadows.

YOU guys are still stuck in the shadows instead of the REALIT, which is Christ.
Boy – Ellen White REALLY did a number on you guys . . .
