When I cook a steak the blood sometimes comes oozing out but there must still be some left in there, I hope God doesn't mind me eating stuff with blood in it.

It was the Pharisees who became the legal fanatics....they took the law to ridiculous degrees and thereby made them a burden to the people. To this day, kosher foods for Jews are in the fanatical category. They will not even eat an egg with a speck of blood in it. Me personally? I will pick out the speck and enjoy my breakfast. When I cook a steak the blood sometimes comes oozing out but there must still be some left in there, I hope God doesn't mind me eating it.
Really makes you want to join in the feast...does it? For any normal person, that is repulsive.

No, I don't believe that is true.....I would not eat blood to save my life. I have no fear of death, and what would be the point of saving your present life if you broke God's law and forfeited your everlasting life? I know which I'd rather have.In real-life survival situations I suppose starving people will eat anything

• Gen 9:3-4 . . Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for you.
As in the case of green vegetation, I do give it all to you. Only flesh with its
soul-- its blood --you must not eat.
• Acts 15:20 . .Write them to abstain from what is strangled and from blood.
At issue with the prohibition against eating blood are the feelings of some
that modern slaughter houses don't always kill animals properly. Many use a
device called a captured-bolt to stun the animals and then workers slit the
animals' throats while they're unconscious. Sometimes the bolt kills an
animal instead of knocking it out and then all that the slaughter house has
to work with is gravity because the animal's heart isn't pumping to assist. So
there are those who feel no one should eat common meat because you can't
guarantee the animal's blood was properly drained.
Exactly what the definition of "properly drained" is I don't know because it's
virtually impossible to drain every last drippy little drop of blood out of an
edible creature no matter how you might go about it; so the prohibition
against eating blood has got to be interpreted from a practical perspective
rather than from a purist's.
I'm convinced in my own mind that the gist of Gen 9:4 concerns the eating
of living blood, i.e. blood with enough oomph left in it to keep meat from
spoiling. So I'd suggest cooking all flesh-- insects, reptiles, fowl, sea food,
amphibians, and beasties etc --well enough to ensure that all of its residual
blood is lifeless beyond recovery.
* There are cultures that poke holes in cows' necks in order to drink blood
straight out of the animal utilizing its own blood pressure like a tap to fill
their cups. Other cultures cut open the thorax of animals freshly taken in
hunting in order to take blood-soaked bites of the animal's heart. Those
examples are probably about as close to vampirism as one can get without
actually joining Edward Cullen's family and undergoing the conversion
process.

@Pearl They do know some "New World Translation" quotes by rote, but once the other person gets onto anything that is not on their rote, they seem to know little about the Word of God, truly.I didn't say JWs didn't know scriptures. Most of them probably can immediately quote more passages than I could - but that is because they are 'trained' not through personal study.
That is absolutely my experience. Ask them something they haven't been trained for that week and they clam up.@Pearl They do know some "New World Translation" quotes by rote, but once the other person gets onto anything that is not on their rote, they seem to know little about the Word of God, truly.
@Pearl Same with the Mormons. You get smart young men in suits and neckties who seem keen to talk about the Scriptures...........and then there is a slant there which really isn't from the Word of God at all, and evidently "Elder G. Kevin Smith" (aged 19) seems not to know so much about the Scriptures after all.........That is absolutely my experience. Ask them something they haven't been trained for that week and they clam up.
LDS Christians and JW approach scripture study, epistemology, sharing the gospel VASTLY differently.@Pearl Same with the Mormons. Yes, I take your point about manner; but as for doctrine, it's not the Word of God itself that is the final authority among the LDS....this soon become apparent.LDS Christians and JW approach scripture study, epistemology, sharing the gospel VASTLY differently.
For one of many examples: JW are super into memorized arguments, quotations, and using those to convince you to join them (and you’re damned if don’t).
In contrast, LDS Christians aren’t really into memorization and don’t believe in bashing someone upside the head with a Bible. Rather, prayer and personal communication with the Spirit plays a large role in everything. Other people aren’t viewed as damned, but rather having some goodness already and missionaries are sharing bringing more goodness to enrich a person’s life.
God is the final authority.Yes, I take your point about manner; but as for doctrine, it's not the Word of God itself that is the final authority among the LDS....this soon become apparent.
...but He never contradicts His Word; so focusing on the Word is not only safe, it's essential.God is the final authority.
No one is denying the importance and studying scripture- it’s SUPER important....but He never contradicts His Word; so focusing on the Word is not only safe, it's essential.
Yes @farouk we have them visit our town sometimes and they get on buses and sit next to people and start conversations and they are sometimes on the town square and approach people. They came to me one time and I asked them a question about the Holy Spirit but they hadn't a clue.@Pearl Same with the Mormons. Give it your best shot.....we study the Bible...Genesis to Revelation..... Have you?@Pearl They do know some "New World Translation" quotes by rote, but once the other person gets onto anything that is not on their rote, they seem to know little about the Word of God, truly.
