BloodBought1953 is correct; you are wrong (as usual). You're like a scratched record, repeating the same "tune" over and over and over, but still not making any sense.
Acts 2:38 makes no sense to the Acts skipper as they teach sinners the book of Romans.

BORING!!!
The Acts skipper doctrine through their eyes...

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, NOTHING for the remission of sins CAME WHEN YOU ASKED THE QUESTION, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost BY FAITH WITH NO EVIDENCE AT ALL THAT YOU RECEIVED IT.

Often people get the wrong idea about something because they are deficient in the background of the scriptures. about five years ago I took it upon myself to investigate the story behind the story. I don't know how many books I have read on the subject but they became an eye-opener and illuminated the real facts about what we read in scripture.

I know that a lot of Christians are afraid to step outside of scriptures for fear of being thought as heretics. The Bible says that all the books written could not contain all that Jesus said and did. Because of that fact I am not afraid to expand my knowledge if it gives me a greater understanding of what I read in the bible.

So back to the topic. The background is this. When Jesus was on earth there were plenty of religions to choose from as people worshipped all sorts of gods. Many of them were like Christianity is today. There are Christians who are committed and CINOs. How did those religions know if you were committed or a CINO or their equivalent?

In the majority of cases, you were not considered a committed member of the religion until you had been baptized by immersion. You could attend their meetings, and share your view but not be involved in leaerdership of any kind. Once you had been baptized by immersion, you were considered a fully-fledged member and were given all of the rights of that religion.

Now I realize this may not be the case today but in Jesus' time, baptism by immersion was integral to being a member of the Way as they were known. That is the way you showed your commitment to the new way of life. You could say you were accepting the Jesus way, but it was baptism by immersion that proved you did as that was already the standard that was accepted in those days.

It would speak volumes if Christianity did not have baptism as part of its expression of faith because it was already so prevalent in other religions.

So repent (I accept what the way teaches) and be baptized (I publicly admit to my acceptance of its teaching) and I receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (God putting his imprint on me).

If I may...baptism in the name of Jesus to be specific.

Yes, baptism was how one got "into" Christ in those days.

In modern times, someone made up "believe into Christ".

Water haters think that is scriptural, but their brethren, the devils believe also.

These water hating anti baptismalists have no right to exclude the devils from salvation that have as much faith or more faith that they do.

We exclude the devils from salvation via water baptism, not just believing.

I think this makes your point....

Luke 4:33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
[34] Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

**POOF** that devil got saved by "believing only" ...... LOL

John 12:14-16, “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. For he will not speak on his own authority, but will speak whatever he hears, and will tell you what is to come. He will glorify me, because he will receive from me what is mine and will tell it to you." Funny how Jesus neglected to mention baptism!

Baptism is a rite signifying the death of the old, sinful man. It has nothing to do with acceptance of its teaching.

That “ Someone” would be Jesus Christ himself....when asked by the Disciples , “ What was the Will Of God” , Jesus responded, “The WILL Of the Father is this — that you *BELIEVE * in the One that He sent”

Got plenty more of these “ BELIEVE ONLY” verses that would Shut Up any Wise Person, But a few here “ Lack Wisdom”......One could say that they were “Words Straight From Jesus Deniers”......

“ He who * BELIEVES* in Me ALREADY HAS Eternal Life and shall NEVER come under Condemnation—- he has passed from Death to Life.”

Thanks for the opportunity to get these Great Verses out there for the Newbies in the audience—— you serve a noble purpose that you are completely unaware of....

John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
[39] (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

This is what happened after he was glorified...

Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
[2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
[3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
[4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Correct.

Baptism is symbolic as we follow Jesus in his burial.

We are buried with Christ by baptism, which Jim is not.

Jim skipped his baptismal burial with Christ.

Great Jim, just great.
