Having read the following verse from the Bible:

Now the serpent was more subtle than any other wild creature that the LORD God had made. Genesis 3:1a

Is it possible Satan tempts us into prideful (and other sinful) behavior without our even knowing about it?

Absolutely. God has allowed Satan to rule the world for a time. There is nothing in this world that does not come under that, except since Christ, in whom we can and do endure the wiles of evil for this short time of the gentiles until the end.

Hopefully we can learn not to let Satan outsmart us.

Hello Bob,

I personally do not believe Satan is around to do anything today, however I do believe going further from what you have read here, and if we can see the talking between Yahweh and Cain we can see that, sin crouches at our doorway, and the only way to become free from the power and bondage of sin and death is faith in the Lord Yeshua Christ. Though reading scripture does help us get a glance at what is going on inside of us, by our frustration, and temptation is made through our own desires and lusts according what James had written.

Anyway the section I am talking about is founded here:

Genesis 4:1-8.

Surely everyone here has experienced in their own mind to hear their own voice in which tempts them to either go into the darkness or the light, Cain disliked that God accepted Abels offering - and Cain could have simply asked the next time to Abel if he could borrow some of his sheep to offer to God. However Cain decided to offer only what he decided was right by his standards and did not give fully what was probably taught to Cain and Abel from Adam and Eve about making these offerings in the first place.

Since Yahweh did not accept Cains offering - Cain got upset about this and Yahweh went and talked to him about it, and He had another chance to be able to do what is right, instead he let the anger and frustration simmer in his heart, that what Cain had thought to do was to get satisfaction and release from this anger would be to kill his brother.

Then Yahweh set his punishment upon Cain - who went away from the LORD and went to live in the land of Nod.

Which means that you do not really believe the Bible. Either that or you simply pick and choose what is palatable and what is not. The Bible says that presently Satan is (1) the god of this world and also (2) the prince of the power of the air. That is a lot of evil spirit power, since whole hierarchies of evil angels are under his command. One of his primary objectives is to deceive Christians, so it is evident that he managed to deceive you in this matter (and from your previous posts several other matters).

Sorry Enoch111, that is simply not the case. It is easy to insert that because MatthewG doesn't believe Satan is still around now in this day in age he must not believe the Bible at all. If I did not believe what the Bible has stated then I would believe Satan would be still around now today sir, the thing about this is the Bible does talk about, the Devil, the false prophet, and the beast were all placed in the lake of fire forever and ever, and I happened to believe it has happened. Some do not, and that is okay. But that doesn't mean I do not believe what the Bible has to say sir.

I do however believe darkness still exist, and that people do wrestle with the dark spiritual aspects founded in the world such as "spirit of pride", "spirit of greed", "Spirit of lust", "spirit of manipulation". We don't wrestle around with Satan as he has done been taken care of.

Look at the story of Cain and Abel, Cain start ruminating in his mind, that he was going to kill his Brother, even after given the chance to make things right when God spoke with him. Satan wasn't in this picture here. God told Cain clearly, "but if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you,But you must subdue it and be its master."

We can follow the example of Jesus of Nazareth when confronted by Satan. Every temptation and deception has a corresponding Scripture (or Scriptures) to demolish it. We should simply believe God.

For example, Satan is teaching the world (and many denominational churches) today that homosexuality and same-sex marriage are perfectly OK. But God has already dealt this lie a blow in Romans chapter 1.

ROMANS 1:
HOMOSEXUALITY IS THE RESULT OF REJECTING THE TRUTH ABOUT GOD

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in
their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Well the fact that you believe that the devil, the beast and the false prophet are ALREADY in the Lake of Fire means that you do not believe the Bible. All that happens far into the future and AFTER the Second Coming of Christ. Read it for yourself.

There are four different views on Revelation, @Enoch111. What you believe is between you and God, it doesn't mean you need to come and confront me as though I am wrong just because I believe differently than you do sir, please let us be respectful of each other as members of the Body of the one whom died, and rose again, Yeshua Christ.

Thank you.

Satan is bound and subject to Christ. That means Christian's have authority over Satan. Or not, if they shouldn't be trying to make that felt.

I point to Leviticus 18:22 when discussing homosexuality.

The Bible teaches that Satan is the ruler of this world (1 John 5:19). Look at all the sin in the world. And you "personally do not believe Satan is around to do anything today"?

No. I do not.

I do believe that darkness still exist, but the devil was defeated due to the victory of Christ. For some reason most don’t trust that Jesus had returned in 70Ad and had victory over all things.

The Bible says Satan rules the world. What makes you think that changed in 70 AD?

How can Satan accuse you or do anything, not being under the law?

Satan had a time while living here on earth, and Jesus even said that the prince of this world was going to be cast out.

John 12:31

Then you have Satan running amuck when his time was short.

Revelation 12:12 - 1 Peter 5:8

Eventually you have the defeat of him, he can not do anything anymore.

Revelation 20:10.

Satan firstly couldn't accuse others of being in sin, before God that did not have the Law.

Satan and the Law have been put away - and we are totally responsible for how we live in our flesh.

I do believe the Spirit of Darkness still exist, and it effects many people, keep them away from the light.

Our own nature is evil - even while we can experience life and do good things (by our soul (mind/will/emotion)...

Consider what Yahweh says here:

Genesis 8:21 - 21 The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the groundbecause of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

Having Christ move into our life, the old former person dies, becoming a Child of God through faith in the Lord Yeshua Christ who is the light of the world.

I'm sure he does as he is very, very subtle.

All I can do is consider the contents of the Bible.
Is it possible?

It is amazing how Yahweh even says that (The GOD WE SERVE through Christ Yeshua) - after destroying the earth during Noahs Age;

He makes a comment in his heart saying :Genesis 8:21 - 21 The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

Maybe we do not like to be able to look ourselves knowing that the God we serve said this about human beings.

It is our own inclination of the human heart - in which we act and do evil, but many people wanna put the blame on Satan, sorry folks playing with Satan and demons if you wanna do that is up to you but they are gone and done away with according to biblical context, even if you do not believe Revelation 20:10, it is still there...

Satan can't do anything to anyone, but the Darkness, the Spirit of Darkness, effects our heart and the only solution is looking towards the light of the World - Yeshua.

God bless.

He doesn't live on the earth but in the spiritual realms.

Ephesians 6:12
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
