See that Bondage?
Its mental and spiritual BONDAGE to believe that you can lose your salvation, or believe that you have to KEEP it, of yourself.
Its FREEDOM "In Christ" to know that the Salvation of God, once applied, is YOUR ETERNAL LIFE< and Eternal Life is not temporary, or based on your behavior.
It is based on your believing. It is in cumbent on the believer to LET the word of God remain in them in order for the believer to remain in the Son, the Father and the promise of eternal life. Just as it was incumbent on the believer to begin that believing in the first place.

If people think they're OSAS even if they reject Jesus later, they're in for a big shock..:)

It is based on your believing.

No, its based on GOD SAVING YOU......ONCE< and for all ETERNITY< through your faith.
That is not you holding unto faith, as if faith is the Savior.
That is God holding unto you, based on the fact that God accepted your faith, ONCE......."faith is counted as righteousness", ONCE...one time.....as proven by being BORN AGAIN, at that TIME, ....>ONCE.
Then..
God is faithful to maintain your salvation for you, and complete it.
Philippians 1:6
And Jesus does the same for your Faith.
Hebrews 12:2

The born again then, having now eternal LIFE, as "the Gift of Salvation"......are become disciples of Christ, and we learn how to "work our our Salvation" that we ALREADY HAVE. = "The GIFT of Salvation".

Real Believers read that Jesus said.....>"all that believe in me....i give unto them eternal life, and they shall NEVER Perish".

False believers, the religious but lost,....probably water baptized, do not Believe Jesus.
They are too busy not trusting in Christ to keep them saved.

If somebody is an Elvis fan, they're never going to wake up one morning and think "I don't like him any more".
Likewise how on earth could any christian wake up one morning and think "I don't like Jesus any more"?
I agree that it's not an everyday occurence.

Don't you know anyone that has left the faith?

@GodsGrace I love the verse at Philippians 1.6:"He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ'. What an assuring blessing for all God's born, again, pilgrim people!
I like it too.

But we can't go by one verse.
How about john 15:2 and John 15:6?

How do you reconcile so many verses that say we must remain in Christ and not fall away?

BTW
I don't believe a person just loses their faith one day
It's a conscious decision a person makes to abandon God, to stop abiding in Him.

@GodsGrace :

In John 15, the Lord Jesus is speaking about fruit bearing: we need to abide in the vine to bear fruit.

In John 10, the Lord Jesus is speaking about salvation: for the truly born again, their security is based on the inalienable unity between God the Father and God the Son:

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30I and my Father are one." (John 10.27-30)

Sure AMEN.

What if a person turns away from God and wants nothing further to fo with Him?

Were they born again?

Are they 1.) In Spiritual Union with God's Holy Spirit, having become born again into the Holy Spirit of God, by God's Holy Spirit,

or

2.) are they just religious, try to "sound like a Christian", try to "be like Christ", water baptized, and lost?

If #1.) they are already a part of God, in heaven spiritually, and so, their "lost faith" or "attitude problem" directed at God, would just be
sin #123,456, 000, and Christ has paid for them all.
God only sees them as born again, because they are in spiritual union with God, since the day they were born again.

If #2, then that is a religious church goer, who isn't born again......so, They are not God's family, and are this.. John 3:36

First of all there are not "so many verses" that say you "must remain in Christ".

And what you need to do, is get beyond trying to prove that you can lose your salvation.
As that is what Paul refers to as getting out of the 1st principles, the baby christian stage, where you are worrying about losing salvation, and can't believe that God keeps you saved, and often these toddlers will want to worry about repenting from sin, or even moreso..they obsess on "confessing sin".

Here is the verse. Hebrews 6:1

Do You realize that trying to ruin people's faith, is the Devil's work?
You should realize yourself..... as you call yourself "GodsGrace" and then you try to deny it, by casting Doubt on the Cross and the Salvation that God offers as a gift, on a public "Christian" forum.
Bad idea to try to teach SELF SAVING Legalism< when you call yourself GODsGRACE.
Thats is about as bad as it gets.
Believe it.

Listen,

You can't stop being born again.
So, how you feel or what you think, 10 years after you are "seated in heavenly places, in Christ".......is actually irrelevant, as if you are already born again, then God has solved your eternity, forgiven your sin, and you HAVE ETERNAL LIFE, starting from that day you gave your FAITH, to God, =ONCE...
ONCE..
Not, BY holding onto it later......Does He accept it.......but He ACCEPTS IT< the DAY you give It to Him, and that is when you become born again.
You can't stop being born again.

Fruit is the evidence of faith.

Those who are severed did not have faith.

A real believer with a love relationship with Christ would never do this.

It's more than that.

You cannot wake up one day, or even over the course of your lifetime, negate your birth from your parents. Neither can you negate your birth from God. It's not up to you to change who and what you are. God does that.

And if you are a child of God, you cannot change that, only, if you act outside of that, it's sin, its from the flesh, and God knows that too. It doesn't change who and what you are. Nowhere does the Bible say God will change you back to what you were, and in many places it says that all who have been reborn will be there at the end with God.

Much love!

Jesus says He will lose none so if you were ever really born-again you are still born-again.

Amen.

God as Christ on the Cross, offered on the Cross, all you need to get to heaven, and remain. Thank you JESUS.

Notice this verse....

""""I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”"""

This verse is loaded with eternal security.
It is DRIPPING with the GRACE of God.

First....You have Jesus saying that they shall never "perish".
He then says that no one can take them out of His hand.....and that INCLUDES THE Born again PERSON who has no faith today, but was born again 40 yrs ago.

But there is more eternal security..
Jesus says that GOD, His Father has GIVEN HIM the born again.
So, Do you think that God is going to take them away from His Son who has SUFFERED AND DIED to get them?
Is God going to Take the Bride away from Jesus the Groom?

A.) NOT EVER

Then, to seal the deal, Jesus says that nothing and no one can take them out of GOD's hand... and that includes the person, who is born again, who is having a faith crisis on their death bed.

Reader, Saint, God HAS YOU, CHRIST BOUGHT YOU WITH HIS BLOOD....if you are born again.
YOU BELONG TO THEM, if you are born again.......for eternity.... and that is assured as you have the assurance in you who is "CHRIST in you the hope of Glory", and GLORY is Heaven.

Personally no, but no doubt some people can't stay the course, in which case I doubt whether they were true Christians in the first place..:)

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7)
