The good news is to whomsoever will..and the result, a radical, transformed life.
I agree that the good news is to whomsoever will.

Regarding the radical, transformed life...

I have seen some for whom the change was immediate and visible. Praise God.

I have seen some for whom external changes were slower and more subtle, often taking many years to manifest themselves. I consider myself in this category.

God has also brought into my life those for whom the outside of the cup never gets cleaned. People with besetting sins. Gay people who cannot shake the same-sex attraction. Alcoholics who can't dry out, addicts who can't get clean. This is not the way the ordo salutis says it should work, and they endure the contempt of the righteous. All they CAN do is trust God to save them. God has put some of these people on my heart.

This is why you cannot judge by a certain doctrine of men or a current opinion of a man. You must judge by fruit of the Spirit. It cannot be faked for long.
You will always spill whatever you are carrying when someone bumps into you.

One of your threads was about why humans find the Calvinist understanding of election repugnant. That may have been our first interaction. I gave you my reasons. What are your thoughts? Why have you decided to reject it?

Im guessing he saw the damage it causes and corrected, by the Spirit…

The peacemakers are blessed by God. How? Well, He has purged them of some of their arrogance, defensiveness and need to prove they are right at all costs. They begin to lay down their life of pride for others rather than bite and devour others. In my eyes, Lambano, that earns you the right to be heard. That earns you the right to correct me, since I smell Him on you and know you are a safe space.
Thank you, Jen.

(Though I haven't exactly distinguished myself in my behavior lately.)

I would rather have two or three in my close circle who are safe than have 50 who are fake.
Did you watch the video clip?

I had to pause it. I need to take the Sneaky Labrador for a walk and pull myself together.

Have you reached perfection yet?
We are all a work in progress, each one with his/her particular gifts and calling.
Not me my friend. He is still working on me. How far along was Job as per the following verse?

"There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil" Job 1:1

religious bigotry…. :confused::confused::confused:
Do all reformed believing people scare you?
No—not in the slightest. I fear no man for my own sake. People who hinder others from making informed, conscientious, and uninhibited decisions about matters pertaining to faith and morals scare me. You know I have sympathized greatly with your struggle in the past. I still do. Struggling doesn't give anyone the right to bash another pilgrim over the head with their infantile creedalism.

I could easily gather up all the hateful comments you've made in this thread and quote them here. But suffice it to say that from a simple search it is revealed that you have used the word "Christ" or any form thereof exactly -zero/0- times. Would you like to know how many times you've used any variation of the word "Calvin?" This could be related to the sad fact that you say you have no assurance of salvation, if I am recalling your own testimony correctly.

And all impingement upon the religious liberty of others scares me, because I know what is coming, and how people are already being groomed for it.

so you want people who are flaky in their beliefs on here??
And, yes, I want people who are "flaky in their beliefs" on here (especially if "flaky" means those who are not obsessed with a soul-tormenting extreme view of the doctrine of election). Are we here to admire each other's orthodoxy or are we yoked up with Him Who has come to seek and save that which is lost?

Lambano's defense of Lifelong_sinner reminds me that I need to forgive him of what he said to me on another thread.

Lord, please help me to forgive.

He may have really hurt my feelings but he is still a member of this forum and God still loves Him and desires fellowship with him.

I am praying that Lifelong_sinner experience the fullness of God's peace, joy, and love in the Holy Spirit.

The only gospel of hopelessness and doubt is Calvinism and Ultra Calvinistic doctrines, the one you hold to.
Are you sure that you are called as one of the elect?
Are you even sure re your salvation?
Pride comes in many forms and manifestations and you don't even know how to hide it.
I would definitely say AMEN to "Ultra."

There can be no doubt that God foreknew those who would eventually be saved.

But foreknowledge is a far cry from predetermination, at least, in a human-like, arbitrary sense.

God loved Lucifer so much, that He put him right before His throne, so that he would have the best opportunity to see always The Glory that could keep him from the temptation to cherish pride in his heart, knowing ALREADY that it wasn't going to work.

God sent Pilate's wife a dream to warn him against having the blood of Jesus on his hands, knowing FULL WELL that he would go down in history as having committed one of the most cowardly acts ever put to pen, nevertheless.

God is NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH, AMEN?

Don't you find that assuring? I sure do. :)

can you be more specific??? I gotta be honest, i cant keep track of everyone i offend around here and why. Im on this forum where theres like 5, or 6 of us reformed folk, and im not used to what i would consider wild or crazy or bizarre beliefs. Most days on here for me have me :confused: at my screen.

Sure. You quoted the Scripture in 1 John about how if we say we had no sin, the truth was not in us. You said I wasn't saved.

I wasn't trying to say I had no sin. We disagree on this but I don't think Christians inevitably sin every day.

In any case, I held that against you. I have to let it go.
