What powers did the Holy Spirit endue Mary with?

@theefaith has already declared, “Mary ALL-Powerful”...:rolleyes:

Which is Utterly ridiculous.
Gods POWER IS His GLORY, that He “GIVES” to no one.
Gods POWER “WITH” a man, is Gods POWER that “REFLECTS” upon that man.

We see Gods example of His REFLECTIVE Glory/Power, routinely UPON the moon. The moon has NO Light of it’s own. Yet when Gods SUN reflects upon the moon WE SEE that Light upon the moon....and the Parallel IS, when we SEE Gods Glory, Power, of Gods SON, Upon a man, We also SEE that Reflection.

Mary was like any other natural born Person, Requiring the Son of God, to Convert her, from having NO LIGHT of her own, to becoming Converted and having the LIGHT of God “with” her....and “IN” her, (Acts 1 & 2) to the day of her natural death......

And AFTER natural death....? As God Promised, He would Forever BE “with” that person. And ONE DAY, that man shall be RAISED “IN” his own POWER of Glory...a holy glorified sinless body.

The Apostles taught with the Word of God in their hearts and their mouths.

Nothing new, FOR ANY Teacher/Preacher, to Teach/Preach ACCORDING TO the Word of God in their hearts and their mouths....
Fail that...they are False Teachers/Preachers.

The Church.....Jesus’ Church.
The Church.....Established By; Jesus.
The Church.....Head; Jesus the Truth
The Church.....Rock Foundation; Christ the Power
The Church.....Body, Members IN Christ, First Members, the Apostles, thereafter all disciples who become IN Christ.

IN CHRIST.....Forgiven, Bodily Crucified, Body Cleansed, Bodily Sin Covered, Body Sanctified, Body Justified, Heart circumcised, New Heart, soul restored, soul saved, Receive Baptism of the Holy Spirt, Receive Gods Spirit of Truth, Receive Gods Seed, Not subject to Wrath, Free from Sin. Can Sin NO MORE,
WITH and IN Christ, (Gods Power). Gods Power; Christ, Gods Word; Jesus, WITH and IN that Church Member.
They become called; Faith-FULL; called saints;
They become sons of Abraham, and his faithful descendants.
They
IS born OF God, is Sealed unto God, is a son of God, Appointment to be Bodily risen in Glory, united with it’s saved soul, it’s quickened spirit, holy. Forever WITH the Lord God Almighty. They be Gods HOLY inheritance. Forever the Lord God Almighty BE WITH them.

No mention of “catholic, Protestant, pope, Peter, Paul, Mary”....
Jesus’ Church is about ONE individual earthling Becoming United WITH Gods Word, Gods Christ, IN that ONE individuals Heart and Mouth, and that ONE individual Being a Brother to all others WHO themselves are United WITH Gods Word and Gods Christ.

The Scriptures ARE ACCORDING TO; the WORD of God, the POWER of God.

Huh? OH YIPES!! No wonder your write what you do....:(
This is not entirely accurate because Christ taught His disciples that when the Holy Spirit was sent. He would guide them into all truth. Jesus also withheld some things from His disciples because they could not bear it.

12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. John 16:12-13
In His kindness, our Lord withholds things from us until we are able to bear them without discouragement or falling away.

Matt 12:
[46] While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
[47] Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
[48] But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
[49] And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
[50] For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

This is interesting, a clue if you will.
Mary and Jesus’ naturally born brothers were simply like all other natural persons born in sin, like others in the community, who knew Jesus personally, heard others talking about Jesus, but all were not followers of Jesus’ teachings.

The day of this incident was a Sabbath day.

Matt 12:
[1] At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.

[9] And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

* This is where Mary and Jesus’ brothers were STANDING WITHOUT the synagogue.
* Why was Mary and Jesus’ brothers NOT Observing the Sabbath Day, WITHIN the Synagogue...?

It’s a clue, like many others in Scripture. Mary was like any other natural born Earthling.
* Scripture reveals Mary BELIEVED in Jesus, BELIEVED He was the Lord Sent of God, to TEACH Gods TRUTH...
* But was NOT a FOLLOWER disciple of His Teachings.
* Nor was Mary and Jesus’ natural born brother siblings...revealed to be Observers of the Sabbath Day, INSIDE the Synagogue.

* We have other multiple Scriptures that reveal, BELIEVERS, who continue (endure) in BELIEF to the day of their Physical DEATH....SHALL THEN, become Saved.
* We KNOW, that continuing (enduring) IS by that person’s OWN “will-POWER’
* We KNOW, there are Multiple WARNINGS, to such persons’ BECAUSE of Evil Higher Powers of Demonic angels, and BECAUSE of Wicked Higher Powers of men, WHO are Everywhere....Consistently Influencing people, to sway AWAY from God, AND Look TO THEM: MAKE ALLEGIANCE TO THEM:
FOR help, aid, safety, peace, saving of their lives.

(THAT ^ was prevalent in Jesus’ day, and continues to this day. And IN this day, it is on a World Scale OF Wicked Power sitting men.....DEMANDING....
The Whole World....cover their mouths;
Deciding... WHO can speak freely.....and WHO can not;
Closing..... Churches;
Dictating....THEY are the Help givers;
Dictating....THEY are the Aid giver;
Dictating....THEY are the Safety providers;
Dictating....THEY are the Peace providers;
Dictating....THEY are the Saviors of Lives;
Dictating....IF people REFUSE Allegiance TO THEM; They WILL cut off your ability to Travel, Work, Buy, Sell. They WILL take your Savings stored in Banks, They WILL take your Property. They WILL send Armed men to BEAT you, Kill you.
They WILL take your Liberty, rounding up persons and putting them in Arm Guarded encampments.
AND..........NOT ONLY DICTATING.....BUT before your EYES...
DOING THESE THINGS.

* WHAT JESUS TAUGHT....and WARNED...WAS THE WEAKNESS of mens OWN Will-power to KEEP IN BELIEF.....FAILS....BECAUSE men Cower in FEAR, of Powers Greater than the average citizenry OF the World.
(Demonic angels and Wicked Power sitting men.)

* WHAT JESUS TAUGHT...SALVATION NOW...BY, THROUGH, OF.....HIM.
ONCE....FOREVER....That NO MAN, COULD, Stop, Take, Interfere, Obstruct.

We discovered BY and Through Jesus’ Teachings, HOW to obtain Jesus’ Offering, of Forgiveness, of Salvation NOW, of Quickening of our spirit NOW, By, Through, Of the POWER of God, who IS Christ.......THAT no man, can Stop, Take, Interfere, or Obstruct.
AND that ON THE DAY, the Disciples of Jesus’ gathered together, TO RECEIVE their SALVATION and QUICKENING, about 100 persons gathered WITH THEM, Receiving the SAME...............including Mary.

(Acts 1 & 2).

THE VERY STRANGE Teaching of Catholics....
* Is teaching A BABY INFANT, who has NEVER repented, NEVER confessed Belief, receives a QUICKENING (born again) of their spirit, by pouring water on their head, by a Catholic Priest.
* And the Saving of their SOUL? Well, ya, sort of....IF they Continue (endure) to Believe to their Physical Death...(THEIR SOUL...WILL THEN BE SAVED), and HOW TO KNOW, IF ones soul “will THEN be saved at physical Death) ?
BY the OBSERVING....the GOOD WORKS, they do during their physical life time.
* IN the mean time, DURING their Physical Life, BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT, received SALVATION of THEIR souls......THEY therefore CONTINUE to SIN...
THEY therefore CONTINUE to require REPETITIVE “forgiveness”, of THEIR SINS.
THEY therefore need someone to CONFESS their “SINS” TO.
THEY therefore need someone to TELL them “THEIR SINS ARE forgiven”...
...ie “Their” created and “appointed” Priests, they call “FATHERS”.

Fact is according to the WORD of God...
Sin is Against God. Only God forgives Sin against Him.
People are not given the Holy Spirit, by another’s Desire.
People are not PARTIALLY “Converted”...
Conversion IN Christ, INCLUDES, Receiving; ONCE...Forgiveness of all Sin, soul Salvation, spirit quickening, Gods Spirit within the person, Freedom FROM all Sin, Keeping By the Power of God within them, and Can SIN NO MORE.

It is NEITHER....Mindfully LOGICAL...OR...Spiritually FATHOMABLE...
That the SPIRIT OF God IN A PERSON...(ie a person QUICKENED, as Catholics Teach occurs DURING BABY water Baptism)...sits by idly while the person SINS Against God! :rolleyes:

How can that be?
In the old Hebrew tradition, women were not allowed in the synagogue, but were to be taught by their husbands. This old tradition persisted in Europe until at least the 1930s. I met a concentration camp survivor named Dorothy Cohen who wasn't taught scripture because her family was killed by the nazis. She was thrilled to be taught Christ from the Old Testament and I was well pleased for the opportunity.

I'm not arguing for the mariologists and their idolatry, but one biblical reward promised to the saints is to have their enemies kneel before them. Do you get the irony of the practice in the RCC?

Sure. When you consider the teeny weeny amount of time the average person spends Really IN the Word, it’s pitiful. Just saying for example compare that to the time some people spend from little childhood to old age wrapped up in a sport, knowing every team, every member, every stat year after year....and Maybe sitting a hour in Church once a week “thinking about “their” spirit sport.
Compare that to the Apostles, 3 solid years, hearing, observing, for hours daily....they heard and saw so much......even Scripture comments...

John 21:
[25] And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

We know John heard and saw things, some of which he shared (and didn’t share) in Revelations.

So, sure, there are many things the Apostles heard and saw, which were never spoken by them.
I use that information, for my own advantage, as wisdom of HOW and WHY, they were privy and others were not.
It’s that intimate relationship with God, that the Apostles had, that IF fostered, gives the converted the ease and true enjoyment of peace, receiving knowledge and understanding, that is not written in black and white. I don’t see it as a teaching tool, but rather internal peace, regardless of what this chaotic world is doing.
IOW, personal, between the Lord and myself. And available for every single individual who seeks it.

Scripture teaches, ASK, and you shall receive. Ya think the Majority of People are asking for His Knowledge and Understanding....or a new house, car, tv, college education, wealth, good health, win the lottery, make their kids behave....etc.?
From what I regularly hear and observe, it’s the latter.
Maybe I’m an oddball, because I am on the heals of God, maybe like a pest, bugging Him, asking Him, for more knowledge and His Understanding thereof.
And I Trust He is Faithful, and gives to me.

Anyway, my perspective.
God Bless,

I think that you're correct when speaking of the "majority" of people, but the majority of people don't use Christian social media either. Participants in forums fall into two types, those who have strong convictions regarding their beliefs whether their beliefs are correct or not, and those that have weak convictions about their belief and are frightened that they might be wrong.

Our beliefs are part of what sociologists would call "world view" and worldview is the framework in which our minds make sense of the world and life in general. My own worldview had elements of Christianity and biblical beliefs from my early childhood because I was raised as a Catholic, read scripture from an early age, and sought to know truth wherever truth might be found. That worldview lead me all over the place mentally and geographically (though my wandering remained within the continental United States and was limited to military posting and later "business travel.")

People's worldview changes at times, but generally as the result of personal trauma or revelation. Sometimes I've believed a lie to be true, until faced directly with the truth.
Our worldview "colors" our perception and nothing changes our perception more than God. Being born again changed my perception of everything, but didn't challenge my world view. The experience wasn't traumatic but Joyous.

I think that the new birth is the only thing that can alter our worldview without trauma. When you've spent years believing something that isn't true and lived your life in the framework of that belief, the truth can be traumatic and the carnal mind, or the flesh, typically doesn't welcome trauma.

Who wants their life shaken up? Who wants to see themselves as wrong? The psyche is of carnal origin, it defines "self", but Christ requires a denial of self will as a first step of faith. I believe that this is impossible for men, not simply self denial, but self denial in pursuit of an unseen God and the "foolishness of the cross."

While the majority of people in the world may not have spent much time in scripture, I have yet to meet a born again believer who didn't. How is one taught by God and lead to Christ without spending time in scripture or at least hearing biblical teaching?

Thanks for your perspective. Agree.
Would add...
All Scripture IS True period.
But not All Scripture Applies the Same to All people.
And that is where Dividing the word of truth is prevalent.
Of course I pick and choose WHAT does and WHAT does not apply to ME, which is all based on what “I” have chosen to DO, for this or that Scripture TO apply or NOT apply to ME.

There is the consideration of SOME, who use the Scriptures as a WEAPON.
Scripture says this, and YOU deny it...blah, blah, blah.
Well no I don’t deny it, that particular Scripture does not apply to me.
Oh, oh, you are just a cherry-picker....spoken as a slam...responded as, Yep, that IS what I do.
I certainly do not apply to me, the multitude of scripture that applies to the unsaved!

THAT scenario, is repeated routinely on this forum, old and boring as it is.

God Bless,

??????? ....On what? And WHY?

You don't seem to be here to learn. You seem to be here to turn Christians to the false worship of Maryolitry that you are obsessed with and of which Satan has its hold on all those "traditions" of the RCC.

be specific please

What verse in the Bible says the Holy Spirit and Mary got married?
  • For your Maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is his name . . . (Isaiah 54:5).
  • . . . as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you (Isaiah 62:5).
  • . . . my covenant which they broke, though I was their husband, says the LORD (Jeremiah 31:32).
  • I feel a divine jealousy for you, for I betrothed you to Christ to present you as a pure bride to her one husband (2 Cor. 11:2).

The only verse you provided for claiming that Mary contributed to our salvation was Luke 1:38... "And Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her."

Luk 1:30...And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

Strong's G5485 - grace (Charis - χάρις ) - is used of the kindness of a master toward his inferiors or servants, and so especially of God toward men. (other synonyms are: acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, graceous, etc.)

Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary
28. highly favoured—a word only once used elsewhere (Eph 1:6, "made accepted"): compare Lu 1:30, "Thou hast found favor with God." The mistake of the Vulgate's rendering, "full of grace," has been taken abundant advantage of by the Roman Church. As the mother of our Lord, she was the most "blessed among women" in external distinction; but let them listen to the Lord's own words. "Nay, rather blessed are they that hear the word of God and keep it." (Lu 11:27).

Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible:
... for thou has found favor, or "found grace with God"; and what that particular grace and favor was, is expressed in the following verses.

Luk 1:31..."And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus."

In no way does the angel indicate that she would remain a perpetual virgin for the rest of her life and scripture proves what you deny.

Luk 1:35...And the angel said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God."

The most that can be said of Mary herself is that she considered herself blessed to be the "servant of the Lord" to bring the Messiah into the world. But nowhere does any verse indicate that she elevated her status beyond being a "handmaid" or "servant."

And what particular grace and favor was she blessed with? It was that she would become pregnant with a son that would be the savior of those who were "his sheep/his people." That was a one and only time event that no other woman can claim and for that reason she was truly blessed by God.

Lastly, to even consider that Mary was the .... "Spouse of the Holy Spirit". That is nothing but the epitome of blasphemy!!!

Mary ever virgin, mother of God, is all powerful!

I did not say it was cos she is God!

Mary’s prayers are all powerful not cos she is God but because her son is God!

and on becoming man He (Jesus) obeyed his own commandments

you might check out the one that says “honor Thy father and mother”

“My hour has not come”

The time set by almighty God for the public ministry of Christ had not come, Jesus Christ still performed the miracle cos his mother interceded, thus a higher law, “honor thy father and mother” if ANYONE else asked it would NOT have been done!
John 2

and cos of her intercession the disciples believed in Him!
Jn 2:11

Is Paul Divine?

Phil 4:13 I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me.

Jn 15:5 apart from me you can do nothing!
