Luke 3:20, "Herod added this to them all: He locked up John in prison." NET v2.1
This has nothing to do with the OP or anything else being discussed in this thread.
If Christ is the rock:
1) Why does Christ even mention Peter?
2) Why did Christ change Peter’s name? (Indicating an office or ministry, similar to Abram & Jacob)
3) Why did Christ give the keys to Peter? (and only to Peter) keys of jurisdictional authority. (Refer to Isa 22:21-22)
I said lk 2:30
I have seen my salvation
Therefore the person of Jesus Christ is our salvation
Mary is his mother
Logical conclusion Mary ...
So it is all based on a legend invented by a man. Building on that foundation is like the parable of the man who built his house on sand rather than rock. The Rock, Jesus.Mariology, or the study of the virgin Mary, has been in effect the attempt to explain Mary as an equal to Jesus Christ that has been an ongoing internal struggle within the church between biblical doctrine and extrabiblical visions, dreams, and fictions.
The church father, Origen, was the first to mention the writing called the gospel of James, or protoevangelion of James and as untrustworthy and heretical. It's an apocryphal work, later condemned by Pope Gelasius in the 5th century, but is a fantasy that describes a miraculous birth of the virgin Mary as well as an elaborate story about her life up until her pregnancy.
Though a text that was not to be read by Catholics it was in part used to defend the doctrine of the assumption of the Virgin Mary. The doctrine of the assumption has its origins in the feast of Dormition celebrating the "falling asleep" of Mary practiced in the Byzantine empire "around the 6th century". In Rome this was expanded to include a legend thar Mary remained a perpetual virgin, was resurrected after her death and raptured into heaven.
This doctrine of the assumption was not part of church dogma until 1950, less than a century ago, by the decree of Pope Pius XII.
In the 1990s the Mariologists within the RCC were petitioning Pope John Paul to "elevate" the status of his patron saint to coredemptrix with Jesus Christ, effectively changing the trinity to a quaternity, all founded on that original apocryphal work rejected and condemned by a 5th century Pope. John Paul, clinging to sanity and biblically based doctrine rejected the pressure, leaving such a decision to a later apostate Pope.
The appeal to the flesh of a female deity is as old as the pagan fertility cults and the search for equality between men and women. It's no coincidence that the assumption became dogma during the early days of the feminist movement, perhaps even spurring a movement that was originally about voting rights to total equality with men, and more recently the idea of gender assignment, counting biology as irrelevant. The name Mary is a version of Miriam, both are derived from the Hebrew word Marah which translates as "bitterness" or "wormwood."
10 Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter. Revelation 8:10-11
There are few things short of denying the deity of Christ that would be more damaging to the church than the evolution of the doctrines of Mariology to the point of making her equal to God.
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15
Such a simple desire as to honor the mother of our Lord, became opportunity for Satan to deceive a multitude in the church and potentially cause them to commit idolatry over a saint blessed by God to bear His Son.

@theefaith you are just digging yourself a big hole. I believe god knows you are sincere but you are on the wrong road. You need to be on the narrow road - the only way.I said lk 2:30
I have seen my salvation
Therefore the person of Jesus Christ is our salvation
Mary is his mother
Logical conclusion Mary is the mother of our salvation!
Also cos she consented to our salvation lk 1:38
Mary was the mother of the Son of man.
Logic and Logical conclusion comes from the Carnal Mind.
Rom 8:
[7] Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Why rely on your carnal mind for spiritual conclusions?
The Lord God Almighty is the creator and maker, without beginning, without ending, He has no Mother or Father!
Really, you think your participation in a discussion is worthwhile when you don’t even know the difference between a reference and a quote?
IGNORE.
I hope you don't hurt yourself.
In Christ Jesus you could be a new creation and be transformed by the renewing of you mind. You could be a son of God and an heir with Jesus.I myself am nothing
I donot even quality as an apologist
Mary was the pure temple of God for 9 months
I amIn Christ Jesus you could be a new creation and be transformed by the renewing of you mind. You could be a son of God and an heir with Jesus.
What does THAT have to do with the price of beans in Kalamazoo as far as making her into a phony goddess????
The Catholic Mary HAS TO BE "Omnicient" (all knowing),and "Omnipresent" (Present everywhere) to be able to listen to, evaluate, and properly advise Jesus what to do for millions of petitioners in Catholic churches all over the world all the time, who've been trained to see her as the "Go-to-gal" to get their prayers answered. Those are God's abilities, so she OBVIOUSLY must be a "Goddess" to function properly.how does that make her a goddess?
