The veneration of Mary is not Biblical. It is a cultural need to create a female goddess to whom one can turn to in prayer instead of praying to God. All the myths about Mary being sinless, being a perpetual virgin, and being Jesus' (nagging?) advisor in heaven are founded on unscriptural doctrine.

The Catholic denomination has loaded such much non-Biblical (extraneous) doctrine and ritual to the Christian faith of the New Testament as to make the truth unrecognizable.
