However, the shortage of AN was already being driven by Environmentalists who are agitating against the use of Methane as a source for the Hydrogen needed to produce the AN. Also the increasing price of methane, i.e. Natural Gas (NG), from Russia, who is the primary source of NG to Europe for the domestic heating of homes is also a factor.

The blowing up of a NG pipeline that crosses the Ukraine will also have an impact on the availability of NG in Europe. In Australia, AN plants are already looking at alternative sources for their hydrogen because of the price of NG in Australia as a result of the LNG being exported.

There are many factors at play and we should not look at just the obvious.

Yes, overall the future food situation does not look very good across the whole earth. Already the cost of buying food has risen a lot in the US. And the cost will go higher.

In North Korea all citizens are required to harvest a certain amount of human poop, sewage to be used as fertilizer, they have a quota.
In our country, with our sewage system, that should make it easy. But then the ick factor. Americans dont like the idea do they.

And you are what you eat. Seeing our FDA, EPA, and all the rules, regulations, laws, likely make it very hard way to go.

At least out sewage system treats the waste.
But I dont know about viral loads in sewage, could make people very sick.
