Technically speaking, the kayak did not melt. The sum cause the plastic material to soften such that it could no longer hold its moulded shape but rather it deformed to conform with the environment it was left in.

Took a bus load of kids to a wildlife sanctuary. No photos of the kids...too wild. But here's some creatures you may not be familiar with...
