Those who vote to kill people are the ones who will be found guilty on Judgment Day! I vote for mercy. Let them live and obtain salvation as we did!

James 2:13 (NKJV)
13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Your wrong that's why they have courts of law to condemn the guilty, yes some innocent people have been convicted, but with the forensic criminal science they have nowadays its nearly impossible to send the wrong person to their death, for committing murder or other heinous crimes.
The "legal system" is filled with LIARS and criminals who call themselves Prosecutors, Judges and Lawyers. YOU are wrong!

And you shouldn't forget what god ordered mankind to do in a governmental basis:

Genesis 9:5-6
King James Version

5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.

6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
Why do you pick out one verse from the OT and ignore the other death penalty verses in the OT?

I am very forgiving. That's what Christians do, forgive ALL. Those who do not forgive are not Christians.

Mark 11:26 (NKJV)
26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.
So you would forgive those who would kill your family members, rape them and the children in your family God forbid, you would embrace them and say I forgive you for such atrocities you committed against me and my family?

Don't you know that Jesus forgave those who murdered Him? Read the Bible.

You're a better man than I am then kcnalp, for I would want justice and the Commandment Thou Shall Not Commit Murder, implemented and the perpetrator put to his death.

I'm not better than anyone but I STRONGLY suggest sticking with the NT if you want mercy from God.

"Blessed are the merciful. They shall obtain mercy."

Because the other OT verses concerning the death penalty concern how God demanded the nation of Israel be governed. The command after Noah left the Ark was for all mankind as a form of human government. This was the first time god gave man a command to do something to govern men.
and because it was for NOah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth- it is binding on the whole earth where men set up governments.

Jesus was the ONLY one qualified to cast the first stone and He refused to execute her! Nobody here is qualified! Is anyone here better than Jesus? Speak up.

So then you do not believe Jesus was involved in the command given to Noah and His sons?

Genesis 9:5-6
King James Version

5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.

6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

Should we take your argument here and apply them to other crimes?

Rape? No jail time! Theft? no jail time! Assault and battery? No jail time- After all only Jesus has teh right to judge man.

I guess Jesus was on vacation when god handed down teh commands to Israel.

god had the death penalty for many CRIMES (not sins) for the nation to perform when one is guilty. Maybe Jesus is a rebel against His Father?

So all these folks in America who call themselves Israelites are obligated to execute, gays, adulterers, rebellious children and those who work on weekends as Moses COMMANDED?

Those who vote to kill people are led by Satan, not by Jesus.
Black and white, huh?

"Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded." James 4:8

Let us kill then that old man, that beast, who leads us to sin. Not even that killing is allowed?

"Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table." Prov. 9:1-2

Deuteronomy 5:17 "Thou shalt not kill."

This is not what it says in the manuscripts. Lets go to Strong's Hebrew dictionary and look up the word as used here for "kill", # 7523. "ratsach, raw-tsakh'; a prime root; properly to dash in pieces, i.e. kill (a human being, especially to murder: [this is not to kill a murderer but to murder]:put to death, manslay, murder (er)." This is why that Jesus said also in one of the Gospels translated it even more in detail.

Matthew 5:21 "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:' "

"kill as uses in the Greek text here is # 5407 in Strong's Greek dictionary; "Phoneuo, from 5406, to be a murderer (of), kill, do murder, slay." Then in # 5406 we read; "Phoneus, fon-yoooce'; a murderer (always of criminal [or at least intentional] homicide; which # 443 does not imply, while #4607 is a specific term for a public bandit):- murderer."

It is necessary that a soldier and those in combat take the life of another person, and this does not cover that type of taking of a life. It also does not apply to the taking of the life of an animal for the sake of sport or for food, but it directed only to the criminal act of homicide, the preplanned and calculated taking of a life of another human being. An accidental death is not an homicide, and that is why God instructed Moses to set up those cities of refuge, as we read in the last chapter. Thou shalt not commit the vicious act of premeditative murder.

Numbers 35:30 "Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die."

There's a difference between Killing and Murder ,the law has not changed.

No death penalty in the New Covenant.

Matthew 5:21 "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:' "

Jesus is getting right down to the basic law with us, Then He states the sixth commandment from Exodus 20:13; "thou shalt not kill." This law is taken out of context, and is becoming a lie as presented in the modern world today. We see the good reverends going out to burn the candles at the executions of murders, and displaying their stupidity of God's Word before the world. If they took a little time to understand the true meaning and intent of God's Word, they would know that as it is translated in the King James, it is incorrect. It is a false statement even, for it is incomplete.

Lets go to Strong's Hebrew Dictionary, # 7523; "Ratsach, raw-tsakh'; a prime root; to dash to pieces, kill a human being, especially to murder, to put to death, (man) slayer, murder (er).

In the Strong's Greek dictionary it is # 5407, "Phoneuo, fon-yoo'-o; from # 5406, to be a murderer (of), kill, do murder, slay." So lets go to # 5406, "Phoneus, fon-yooce' , A murderer, (always a criminal act [at least initial] homicide, 5407 is the term for a public bandit, 5406 is term for murderer."

When we go back and read the sixth commandment again, for what it really says, we see a totally different meaning. Christ has just told us that the law hasn't changed. The law doesn't say, "Ye shall not kill", it states "thou shall do no murder, criminal homicide", and that is the criminal intent beforehand to take a man's life. There is a great difference. "And whosoever shall commit criminal homicide murder shall be in danger of the judgment.

God's law spells out the righteous way of dealing with murderers, without a just cause, and this is addressed in Numbers 35:17-21, "The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him." The revenger is the next of kin, and by this righteous act of killing the murderer on the spot, the community will be free of them, "and others will see and these things will cease happening." When blood is shed, it is the innocent blood that we should be concerned with, not the murderer.

Jesus is telling us that if you murder, He will judge you.
