It seems to me that Christianity is MORE THAN OURSELVES. It's our extended family, our neighbors, our friends, strangers, AND OUR ENEMIES. And so this should NEVER be about our selfish motives, but for our community so that we can ALL get through this and touch hearts for Christ.

So if we "do not care", -- then maybe our heart isn't in the right place WHERE WE DO CARE.

My prepping tends to take the form of just getting closer to my God, ...

Perhaps when you get "closer to ... GOD", you'll start following his INSTRUCTIONS:

Lke 22:35 And he said to them, “When I sent you out with no purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36 He said to them, But now, let him who has a purse take it, and likewise a bag. And let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy one.

with the news from China collapsing and hoarding over half the world's grains supply, be prepared for the following:

1. More shortages at the grocery store
2. Higher inflation
3. More unemployment
4. More shortages for all other goods.

With the chip shortage showing no signs of alleviating in 2022, smaller crops globally, the legions of natural disaster globally, this year will be even worse last year.

Governments once again are overreacting to the new omicron strain, locking down businesses. More and more businesses will close and in America businesses will close because millions are not going back to work.

Let us also not forget the record debt levels of governments, businesses and people. Now is the time to be a good prepper while you can still find the goods you use or can afford them. I live in the northeast and have seen food prices jump an average of 20% this year alone. Canned goods seem stable , but dairy, meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, oils, deli anmd frozen have all gone through the roof.
“be afraid, be very afraid” huh RN?

We are Created for LIFE, not death. It's satan's intent that we die. So whose side are you on?

Ever hear of a martyr? Sometimes God ordains that his people be martyred for their faith in him. Jesus is the supreme example of that.

Well, there's an old joke. Man sitting on his porch. sheriff goes by tells him to leave, a flood is coming. Man says He is trusting in God. Flood comes. He is on the second floor. boat comes by and tries to pick him up. Man refuses says he is trusting God. Finally he is on his roof and a helicopter goes by tries to pick him up. Man refuses says he is trusting in God. He drowns. In heaven he yells at God for letting him drown. god says I sent a car, a boat and a helicopter, but you wouldn't get in! God also calls us to act responsibly. If we are in a boat in the middle of a lake and see a terrible storm approaching-TRUST IN GOD, BUT ROW TOWARDS SHORE!!!!!!!!!

LoL!

I appreciate it, Ronald. I'll just put it this way: I've got Jesus in the boat with me, so if He goes down I'm going down with Him... but He's not. :p

I think a pantry is a good idea, keep rotating your stock and donate things before they expire.

25 Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?... 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Well as we are commanded to care for our family FIRST above all others, until they are secure, I cannot afford to care about others. You should do teh same.

The bible makes clear the order of people we are commanded to care for.

1. Family
2. Church family
3. Other Christians
4. The world.

And that is how I do it. If I hAVE ENOUGH FOR #1, i MOVE TO #2, THEN #3, THEN #4. That is called proper biblical care!

even greater things will you do Of course you can “walk on water,” RN, why would you say that lol
Nah, I try to be responsible and trust in God while taking whatever steps I can.
it’s weird how we change the world is passing away—which we can daily observe—with “the world is about to end,” which i seriously doubt is about to happen. And this is by no means exclusive to believers, its part of the human condition i guess? “Secretly everyone is waiting for the end of the world” HMurakami which is particularly why i doubt it, since everyone else believes it
but then im hard-headed like that i guess lol
1. More shortages at the grocery store
plant a garden?

2. Higher inflation
stop using money that is obviously manipulated, and has already crashed by over 99%?

3. More unemployment
stop looking for a job, and get to work :)

4. More shortages for all other goods
bc we all need more plastic crap in our lives, huh

Most all "Best Used By" date are artificial. I just made the SECOND can of tuna in water, with a BUB date of 11/5/2013. The FIRST can was good, and so too the SECOND can. But if ANY can is bulged, DON'T OPEN IT. Throw it directly in the trash because a bulged can is a sign of botulism which is one of the MOST LETHAL substances known.

And don't buy anything "Low Sodium", including SPAM. The salt is a PRESERVATIVE and extends SPAM shelf life some 5 to 50 years, but the the Low Sodium may only be good for 1 to 2 years depending on storage conditions.

So although food naturally deteriorates over time, I'd rather have 80% nutrition than 0% nutrition.

You make excuses why you disregard some Scripture, while claiming that you're following other Scripture. -- Isn't ALL SCRIPTURE GIVEN?!?

Matt. 21:28 “What do you think? A man had two sons; and he went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’ 29 And he answered, ‘I will not’; but afterward he repented and went. 30 And he went to the second and said the same; and he answered, ‘I go, sir,’ but did not go. 31 Which of the two did the will of his father?” ...

Either follow ALL Scripture, or follow none.

You are likening yourself to a publican and a harlot, and me to chief priest?

To All,

Being PREPARED means not just FOOD, -- we need access to non-surface water, shelter, medications, fuel, self-defense, and necessities:

Lke 22:35-36

And if GOD's Word is a hindrance, then let the fools suffer.

If you "clean them out", then do so on your cooking stove. Now I did find a old steak with freezer burn, so that went to ELAM. But if the cans aren't bulged, and the contents looks and smell good, it's going on the table.

Don't be fooled into throwing out PERFECTLY GOOD MEALS.
