Ridiculous!! NOTHING in the Bible indicates anything like this.

ROman Catholic LIES.

Okay. Yeh Jesus was born without original sin. This isn't true about Mary, but it is probably how I got this. Is this something from the Apocrypha? Where do you get that Mary was without original sin?

"Mary was SINLESS"
"Mary was Immaculately conceived"
gen 3:15 enmity total war none of satan’s works are found in her
Lk 1:28 Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women
Rev 12:1 clothed with immaculate purity

the immaculate conception refers to Mary being conceived in her mothers womb
The miraculous conception refers to Jesus being conceived in Mary’s womb

Totally RIDICULOUS!!!

Sorry, but she's not your "Mother". That's nothing but Roman Catholic FOOLISHNESS!!! Mary is Jesus' physical mother - which is quite enough without all Rome's fancy, but meaningless "titles".

MY MOTHER was Ida Mary Margaret Boyd/Carabbio, who passed away in '79.
God rest her soul!

Mary is our spiritual mother

Mary is the Mother of the living in Christ and the new creation!

Genesis 3:20
And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

John 19:26-27
When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith has he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

Jesus is not just asking John to care for His mother, if so He would have said so.

Jesus is in the very least making Mary John’s spiritual mother! And if the apostle John needs a spiritual mother so do we!
What is the family of God without a mother? The mother is the heart of the family! Jesus said I will not leave you orphans! Jn 14:18 He proved Mary the mother of one disciple then He does so for all disciples!

As eve was the mother of all the living in the first creation, gen 3:20 so Mary is the mother of all those who live in Christ and the new creation!

Rev 12:17 our spiritual mother!

Rachel is spiritual mother of Israel!
A type of Mary as spiritual mother of Christians!

The 12 sons of Jacob have 4 biological mothers, but Rachel is the spiritual mother of all Israel!

Matt 2:18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are no more.

Yes I do honour her but I don't worship her or pray to her because she was just a woman and not God.
Hello there Pearl,
Not just for you.
@GodsGrace @devin553344 @JohnPaul
Just a woman that angels talk to...
Just a woman that had Yehweh's baby.
Just a woman that delivered a God...the Savior of the world
Just a woman that had to watch her Son tortured and nailed to a cross.
Just?

Ever wonder what we will be doing in heaven? We get to those Pearly Gates and St. Peter hands us a harp and points to a cloud and we spend eternity strumming a harp?
Christ called up Elijah and Moses and had a pow wow with them....Wonder what they had been doing in heaven? Did they have harps in their hands?
The Bible does not give much information on that sort of thing.
Angels serve the Lord and interact with people....we should not pray to them.
Are any of us going to serve the Lord? Or are we just going to be musical cloud riders? I imagine that would bore me.
We have got to a point, that we believe it is sacrilegious to think that after we get to heaven we might serve the Lord in different ways. Would Miriam volunteer for such a thing?

I know it is not impossible because I have seen her more than once.
God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, I have three Gods I worship, but I am a big fan of Miriam.
I am not a Catholic....I worship with many denominations and my favorites are the Holy Ghost Churches.
And I have been blessed to see the work of the Holy Spirit. I have not been blessed with tongues but I have
witnessed a lot of it. I have seen a couple angels....had one kick me across the bed of a pickup truck...to tell me
my mother was bleeding to death.....200 miles away.

Ever wonder why some people "get to" see angels and Miriam and experience the work of the Holy Spirit in a real way?
I don't know why. Is it the depth of Faith? How do you measure that? God never leaves my mind, I walk my day with Christ.
Being around me...ya have to get use to me talking to myself...well not really. I talk to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit and talk to Miriam. I catch my kids listening in on my conversations and my two Boxers are very interested.

The depth of faith? Some people do not believe in modern day miracles. Their faith has to endure the deafening silence of God.
Some people do not believe in modern healings or the ministry of the broken hearted.
Some do not believe that the Holy Spirit can sweep acrossed a congregation and you can feel the exhilaration of the Spirit.
Some do not believe that angels interact with people anymore.
And some do not believe in Miriam....and this is after over 2000 years of being active and witnessed by...who knows a couple hundred thousand people and countless miracles.
There are a lot of things people do not believe.....it is like pouring water on the flame of faith.
Ever wonder why some people don't "get to" see angels and Miriam and experience the work of the Holy Spirit in a real way? Is it about the depth of faith or the effect of disbelief.

why for you does it need to be found in scripture?

Because "SCRIPTURE is thepublished record inspired by the Holy SPirit of GOD'S WORD. WHen a denominations theology doesn't agree with, or adds to that record, it's automatically subject to Doubt.

what is the source of truth for Christians?

According to Jesus, the HOLY SPIRIT is the the source of all truth.

What is the rule of faith?

Heb 11:1: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen".

What is the pillar and ground of truth?

The "Church of the Living God" (1 Tim 3:15). NOT a "Pope" and a bunch of old men in dresses and funny hats. TRUTH flows from the Holy Spirit into those of us who are Born Again of the Holy Spirit, and are the REAL "Church of the Living God".

Brothers and sisters of Jesus?

They are not the children of Mary!

Is 7:14 a virgin shall conceive and bear a son!
(One son, singular)

James is the son of zebedee, and the other James is the son of Alpheus not Joseph!
Matt 10:2-3

In Hebrew culture any close relative can be called brother or sister, lot was called Abraham’s brother but was his nephew.

Gen 12:5 and Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son..

Gen 13:8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen; for we are Brothers.

The 12 sons of Jacob are brothers but all are not the children of Leah and all are not the children of Rachel! They had 4 mother’s, These may be brothers but they are simply not the children of One mother and the brothers of Jesus are not the children of Mary!

Jose’s, Simon Salome are children of another Mary!

Mk 15:40 There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

Is Mary the mother of James?
If you mean the Blessed Virgin Mary then no. Her sister-in-law, Mary of Clopas, was the wife of Alphaeus (St. Joseph's brother), and mother of Simon, Joseph, and the apostles Judas Thaddeus, and James (the Less, brother of the Lord): Jesus' cousins.

The "sisters" of Jesus refer to women disciples

Salome, or Mary Salome, was the wife of Zebedee, and mother of apostles John (the beloved), and James (the greater).

CHuckle - THAT was a lot of work TO PROVE NOTHING!!!!

Yes. Only one woman bore God's son but yes just a woman but a very special woman. But not the only woman to ever hear from God, and not the only woman to ever have an angelic encounter and not the only woman who ever saw her children die in horrendous circumstances.

@Pearl What I find remarkable is that Mary sang in Luke 2: "my spirit hath rejoice in God my Saviour".

She was so privileged; clearly she needed a Saviour also.

I think we all must rejoice in various ways when we know we have had an encounter with the Living God. I know I do.

What do you see as 'original sin? @Mayflower

Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve brought the curse of sin into the world by eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The only One on earth that was free from this curse was Jesus Christ.

We are going to have to disagree here. I think this raises Mary up to something she was not.

I'm going to unwatch this thread. Just because I do not think this is going to change any opinions on the matter. I think these things are something Catholics should question though, because praying to Mary and the saints, and believing Mary to be sinless as Christ, you are glorifying ones that are not God the Father. If that points you to the Father, excellent. But a priest should not be your go to as to what is right or wrong. The Bible should be your go to. The Bible is the source of all Truth. Not man, not experience, but God.

Yes and because of that we are all separated from God until we are reconciled to Him through the blood of Jesus.

I made a mistake.
I sure hope @Cassandra isn't around!

I meant to say, as you asked, that Mary's MOTHER was not born of a virgin.

This subject is too deep for now Mayflower.
Think about this:
Could Jesus, God incarnate, be born of a woman who had original sin in her?
Who had the sin nature in her?
Or do you think that maybe God would want her to be pure and without the sin nature?

We are born of original sin,,,all of us.
Even if Mary had never h ad relations with any man...
she STILL would have the sin nature.
Do you agree?

Tomorrow...
@GodsGrace The Lord Jesus as the Lamb of God was the only sinless substitute.

If Joseph had really been the father, this is how sin would have been passed on.

I still wanna know, if God alone is Omniscient, how does Mary hear prayer? I just don't see how she can.
