Luke 19:11 While the people were listening to this, Jesus proceeded to tell them a parable, because He was near Jerusalem and they thought the kingdom of God would appear imminently.the parable of the talents has no witness
You seem to have forgotten how you talk about God severely chastising the person who does not submit to him:
"Our fathers disciplined us for a short time as they thought best, but God disciplines us for our good, so that we may share in His holiness. " Hebrews 12:10Stubborn believers will in fact go "under the lash". How did you forget this? You've said it many times. And as we can see in the passage it's so we will be what you say happens "naturally" and "will take care of itself", which obviously doesn't always happen naturally, and so God's lash is necessary. I wish my experience with sin was the way you say it is. It's hardly been that. I've spent a lot of time just sitting before God in defeat, relying on Him. And one thing I will not let people do is shame me for God being successful in changing me.
But that's terribly inconsiderate of you to not read my posts and then make unfair and cruel comments based on lack of information and attention. I mean, that's just a flat out sin. Doesn't Christianity mean more to you than just having correct doctrine? Isn't the more important thing that you not sin against people? Yes, we all sin, don't even bother going there. The point is, you have your priorities messed up. And I suspect it's because you do not know what the priorities are. You talk about being a Christian for 50 years or whatever and yet you still don't seem to know what this is all about.

@Tong saves the day!!! Thank you for starting my morning off with EXHORTATION and AFFIRMATION.
↓↓↓Define “them.”
...the person who hasn't gotten there yet will call you a legalist and a self righteous Pharisee.
"love your enemies, do good to them" Luke 6:35
At least you don't deny not treating me nicely. I give you credit for that.

Grace is changing me. It's not changing you, apparently, and it makes you point your finger at me and call me a legalist. What can I say, BB.....
How blessed we are... how very BLESSED to have a GOOD SHEPHERD who will NOT lose ONE... no.. not one of His own.
I so love the analogy of sheep and shepherd... It is the one that I can relate to the most and the best... thus my avatar.
The job of the SHEPHERD is to protect the sheep... to ensure that they are safe and in good health.
The job of the sheep is to HEAR their MASTER'S voice... come when called... and munch on clover... How PRECIOUS!!!
Don't look now, but you're becoming a legalist. :)I am talking about a GENUINE LOVE for others —- from the NEW heart—- that is the basis of how we treat others....not treating others good because we “ have” to , lest God “ GET” us.....
You bad mouth me for talking about GOD doing the changing naturally and then you say “GOD was successful in CHANGING ME...” you contradict yourself, methinks....lol.....
I actually think it’s a two-way thing.....after all the Holy Spirit is our “Helper” , not our “ Doer” so it must be something we do hand in hand.....
And then there are those that don't come back. Super-duper grace won't save them.
It is possible for believers to fall away from grace and be lost. Some simply do not respond to correction and prefer to live in sin in unbelief.
His children, no.
Those who leave the family, yes.
You have blessed me @Tong... I have been wooed by Father... He has been ever so diligent and long suffering in bringing me unto Himself.
I have been one who has been like a wounded animal... and most FEARFUL and MISTRUSTING of EVERYONE...due to severe trauma.... yet God.. in His infinite GRACE has continued to call and beckon me... until such a time as I was able to TRUST HIM. There are no words to explain my conversion experience... It has been a long and slow journey for this little old soul.... but OH.... the DEPTH of my LOVE and DEVOTION to Him is because HE first LOVED me.
So many Christians think it is all about them.... I cannot wrap my brain around anyone "thinking" that they are good and deserving of anything.
Pride seems to have blinded the eyes of many.
I have nothing to bring as an offering to Christ.... yet I come boldly because HE has invited me... and I place down my HEART at the altar.
Being a Christian is not about duty... It is about relationship... and surrendering our hearts completely to the ONE who is WORTHY.
He does not require our sacrifice... HE requires our hearts.
It grieves me deeply when I read words of accusation against the SHEEP who are are resting and trusting... and BELIEVING.
It's all in the PRECIOUS BLOOD of CHRIST.
Each of us have experienced conversion differently. But the bottom line is, blessed are those whom the Father have given to the Son to save unto eternal life, an everlasting life with our loving God, our creator.
Well, as for me, I recall the days when I do had such a thinking. Thank God for granting me repentance on that one.
