Come to think of it..
the only time I wash my hands is when I do the dishes.
And I live alone and don't eat much, so that's not very often.
And I haven't been sick for a long long time.
I live with 8 cats. My house isn't the cleanest.
Actually it's not my house and I've been told not to move things around much or throw stuff away.
Except the usual common house trash.
This was and to some extent still is a hoarders residence.
I don't know if you've ever watched the series called "Hoarders" if you have than you have an idea of my living conditions.
Over the last 5 years I've made some progress, but it took a lot of convincing that old plastic containers and empty cereal boxes
were not really the best for anything "creative" .
It took me awhile to make a path to the bathroom, let alone the sink or shower.
I got no help from anyone. It was live in it as it is.
I can't move around very good, lifting stuff is difficult. But I think I've done a fair job. And somewhat presentable should anyone ever happen to stop by and visit.
My dad comes and stays with me randomly a weekend here or a week there. He is used to living in a hoarders home.
His girlfriend is a "proffesional crafter" and doesn't like to throw away ANYTHING. And I mean, ANYTHING.
Prior to living here, I spent 10 years living in a sleeper cab of a Freightliner. Always bound by the clock.
Have to keep those wheels rolling. The rules of the road was, you had to take a certain amount of time off each week. I think it was 34 hours.
That time was used for laundry, showers, and refilling the cabinets with non perishable foods you could eat while moving.
The driver (my ex) didn't like to sit still. And when the clock said we could go, off we went. Sometimes 18-20 hours a day.
Even though the law required you to sleep for 8, most of that time was used for looking for the next load and maybe grabbing a bite to eat.
You would think with all those germs and greese and dirt and oil and restrooms (mostly rest areas) I would have been on my death bed.
We only got sick once that I can recall from what I believe was food poisoning at a T/A truckstop. We both had the chicken fried steak and ended up in the restroom sharing the sink and the toilet. That was a bad night LOL.
I'm just saying..
a little dirt never killed anyone, unless your alergic to certain germs, cobwebs, mice droppings, cat hair, fleas.....
Speaking of which,
I'm beginning my Fall cleaning tomorrow which will probably take me to Spring to finish.
So my hands should be fairly clean for most the winter. Depending on how much more trash I'm allowed to remove from the premises.
The more I remove, the better I can clean.
I always use Dial soap even though I read somewhere that using anti-bacterial soaps are not recommended for removing bacteria.
You know the world has gone insane right???
LOL
