People always imagine such creatures in Australia... Snakes... Spiders... Crocodiles... Sharks... LoL... I think its Dundee's fault giving us such a bad name...

Iv honestly only ever seen a hand full of snakes in my life. They hear you coming and flee. As for spiders, you have to go looking for them to find them, they won't approach you to eat...
And I'm so far south there are even fewer snakes down here.

There are no mammals to be afraid of like bears or wild cats like they have in Eurasia and America. I would be more afraid of them cos they will eat you

So relax people. Come visit Oz. It's safe. And effective... LoL...
So what about those sea/salt water crocs ...they are man eaters for sure....inland alligators are tame compared with them....
You are right though the nature programs and Dundee helped give Oz a lable of having many carnivorous eating and snake infested poison killing machines of death. I've dealt with coral snakes, water moccasins, and rattlers of various types over here. Tracks of many bear and mountain lion in the North West....

I did ride a dirt bike about a lot and I came across spiders all the time in the face you name it, at times the spiders were out in droves and the same with the snakes, you get the right weather and then the numbers go up.
You will not see most snakes that are around. when out camping and in my case most of the time such is not public type camping and one mate he always goes to kill the snakes bear handed, I just leave them alone as they will not come bother you.

I have been swimming with fresh water crocks they will not bother you and if you come up to them they will take off. but the salt water crock is fine as well only you have to understand them and what not to do, lucky that they are dumb as, but they are cunning, more of a pain to have to put up with when camping, that's why I sleep in my ute and not in a tent.

The more north you are it's all the stingers and pest things that you have to put up with plus the heat and humidity you have to deal with and as you get old it hammers you, I have to drink much more water nowadays as before I could go half the day without water at all.

When one is green and not understanding what one is truly dealing with well such is an issue, I thought that the Bears were more of a problem than what I have now seen on TV is that they are not something that will always just come out trying to kill you, but for the Poler Bear on Ice road truckers TV show they claim in the snow you may not know that they are their until you see their black eyebrows and nose.

Thanks for the expanded rundown....I think the bears are the real killers in N. America, and not just Polar or Brown/Grizzly Bear. The 'smaller' Black bear can do damage. I've seen a bloke when I was in Montana that had deep gashes on his back and on the side of his face. I saw him a few weeks after it all happened. He still acted like he was in shock. He was disfigured. It was on a hunting expedition. When you live in this wild country and you love hunting, you take the risk - I did for about 7 years, about 90km from the nearest mountain wilderness area. I loved to go even alone - not wise to do. I went to my stomping grounds in my 4x4 Bronco (type of truck. Sometimes I used to make my own roads and trails from the fresh loose snow with chains on my tires...I could go on...it was fun and many memories were made....

What about them? No where to be seen south of the tropics.

No land predators apart from dingos...
No bears or cats to get stalked by...
I would argue that the bush here in Tassie is the safest forrest in the world to go for a hike... Apart from NZ

The only land animals in Oz that might hunt down a human are a pack of dingo... People have been attacked by them by none ever died apart from one baby in the 80s...
But again, there up north where the population is low...

"But what about snakes and spiders"
They only attack in self defense and there are snakes and spiders just as bad across Eurasia and America. Stop being such alarmists... LoL

Texting can be a little misleading. I do not want anyone to think that I do not believe Covid is real and killing a lot of people. We just do not pay it much mind in my area and has had little effect in my area. And I contend that it is a bio-logical weapon that has been intentionally spread worldwide.

More information coming out.
When the American people are told of a vaccine they are expecting it to prevent the illness...expectations not fulfilled.
When the American people are told to wear masks they are expecting those masks to protect them from getting Covid...not true.

Whether it be the CDC or Mayo or John Hopkins, their published expectations for the vaccines have changed over time.
People that are vaccinated, get paperwork that allow them in places and travel, but are not tested for Covid.
They already know that people that are vaccinated can get Covid and be asymptomatic or have mild symptoms. We do not know how may people that have gotten the vaccine are actually asymptomatic carriers of Covid....they do not follow up. And these people are given a free pass to be with others in confined quarters.

I have also explained that if your breath can pass through a mask, Covid can pass through a mask, because your breath is thicker than Covid.

So over all I am trying to sound the alarm for false securities. And I contend that these false securities are intentional. That does not mean that I or anyone else should tell people not to get vaccinated or wear masks...that is your choice and your choice alone. Then again I will fight to any level to prevent it from being forced on anybody. But and then, I believe it it important for those deciding whether or not to get the vaccine to have the information available to make an informed choice and they need to know the symptoms of the side effects or reactions to the vaccines so they can get medical attention quickly. But it is also true that this is an experimental vaccine or antidote at best. So that is the way we should proceed...with caution.

Don't think that people that are vaccinated are not contagious.
Don't think that if you are vaccinated that you cannot infect people....loved ones.
Bio-logical weapons are designed not to allow for herd immunity and so far we have not seen any anywhere. Look it up.
Masks...if it makes you feel good...have a blast...don't count on them to protect yourself or others.

There are medications that treat Covid but they have been pretty much outlawed. Between that and the funneling of people to vaccines...is a couple of reasons that I believe this is all an intentional event. Before Remdesiviir was approved those in ICU, were allowed to die rather than give them the medications that could treat Covid. Remdesivir is a relatively new drug and is a common treatment but it is nowhere near as safe as hydroxychloroquine that has been used for over 60 years.

If you live in an area that is ate up with Covid and lockdowns are prevalent...my advise is move! Move to an area were it is not so intense.
Limit your exposure, particularly the elderly and unhealth. Good diet and exercise and multivitamins and sunlight.
I believe disposable gloves are more effective than masks but both are fine. Wash your hands.
Well said.

Hardly on topic but I've been in Oz for nearly 5 years now and I have yet to see a snake in the wild. And I live on the edge of a forest and there's a couple of ponds100 yards away. Snake country it is but nah, no sightings.

PS have seen a few big spiders though and a several nasty red backs, but those red backs are easy to squash... They just sit there and wait for the inevitable. The huntsmen, they move. Very fast.

Wash your hands is the number one most effective way to prevent the spread of disease.
If you think about it you have to put your mask on with your hands. If your hands are contaminated then you just transferred the contaminant to your mask and that puts it right where it wants to be...near your nose or mouth.

I reckon washing hands is overrated... LoL...
Look at the animals all around... We don't see them washing hands and they do just fine...:)

You might change you mind when you come face to face with ecoli and sickness bugs - definitely a good time to wash your hands, especially with ecoli as you wouldn’t believe what can come out of a body when that hits ( we had it in the care home about five years ago………not a pleasant experience and it’s not something you can get once you can get reinfected )

I do believe that all the cleaning that is encouraged is unhealthy…my mum use to say ‘ a little bit of dirt doesn’t do you any harm ‘ she was right.

from you earlier post…..so is it untrue that spiders come up through your toilets ?
I think I prefer the U.K , no predictors of any kind …oh hang on the ones that sit up in parliament can be pretty dangerous !!!

Lol , Oh that must be a myth that has circulated around the U.K. and on some films that I have seen ……..pleased to know that it isn’t true….never really thought to check it out as I don’t plan on coming to Australia any time soon xx

When I wad in college my microbiology instructor had the class go swab various areas of the building. Then we rubbed them on a petri dish and put them in the "oven".
The microwave in the student lounge had ecoli on the buttons....the elevator buttons grew staphylococcus....the cleanest area we swabbed was the bathrooms...(i know....shocked me too)
samonella was on water fountains....
So yes....WASH, WASH. WASH your hands!

It is a 'silly' and herd mentally fad to me and definitely overrated.

Washing hands in excess can be a detriment to good health, depending of the chemicals used in washing your hands. You need germs to exercise your immune system. Just go ask a kid they love the dirt and grime....and they are in excellent health.

I guess when you get over 70 you might want to be a bit more careful when playing in the dirt...

I'm concerned about the flu and cold viruses. They're the ones I've avoided by washing my hands when I come in.
The other stuff? You do what you can, remembering that worrying about bugs is also bad for one's health.
