Our finite brains have difficulty comprehending the eternal God.
It's like trying to comprehend one more dimension than we are aware of.
I believe Jesus used parables to describe the kingdom of God so as to overcome this difficulty.

the Holy Trinity IS The Most Important Doctrine of the Holy Bible. More than ANY other! Because unbelief in this is the WRONG God of the Bible, which is what the OT Jews had.

Unfortunately some people speak when it might have been better if they had remained silent. Jesus always knew when to speak and when to remain silent. Time is given to us, but we need to give it back to God...

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven
...a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;" Ecc. 3:1,7

When a person is Not following God all of the time he too often will open his mouth and speak... but even if he is quoting scripture, it came from his own head rather than from the Holy Spirit. Idle words?

We must be His sheep so as to "hear" His voice alone and never "hear" the voice of any stranger. There are strangers who quote the scriptures, but without the quickening of the Spirit, strangers they remain:

"But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers." John 10:2-5

The thing that so often confuses new or young or even old but really distant people in God and the things of God is that too many are listening to both voices and presenting mixed messages.

"For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?" James 3:7-11

Is God not able to tame our most unruly member, our tongue? Certainly... but He has given us the choice, the dominion, the final say in the matter. It is our own will that stands between us and God. Can we surrender to Him so that He will then tame our tongue? He did it here, did He not?

"And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Acts 2:2-4

Is the promise fulfilled in them 2000 years ago not available to us now as well? Have any of us received it already?

"For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." Acts 2:39

But then again... is our tongue now a tongue which witnesses to and on behalf of God alone?

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8

Well, that's really fascinating. Because nowhere in post#68 did I say anything for or against the Trinity. In fact, it was a response to your question as to what denomination I belong to. You didn't read it did you.

Let me offer you a few scriptures about what God, through His Spirit, inspired the apostles to inform us what we should believe in order to receive eternal life.

KJV 1 John 1:1-3
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

As a witness for Christ, John entered into no controversy, no wearisome contention. He declared what he knew, what he had seen and heard. He had been intimately associated with Christ, had listened to His teachings, had witnessed His mighty miracles. Few could see the beauties of Christ's character as John saw them. For him the darkness had passed away; on him the true light was shining. His testimony in regard to the Saviour's life and death was clear and forcible. Out of the abundance of a heart overflowing with love for the Saviour he spoke; and no power could hold back his words.

KJV 1 John 2:3-5
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Let me ask you a question bgtf? The Trinity formula tells us that the Son is off the same age as the Father does it not? That both are equally eternal, and that so long as the Father has existed, so also has the son? That's what the Trinity teaches us yes? If that were true then, how can Jesus be the Son of God of He's the same age as God?

23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

Again I ask, do you keep all God's commandments? In all those verses above,I see nothing about a Trinity my friend. Yet you say unless I believe in it, I'm lost?

Isn't that what happens when we eat ice cream too fast? Mine never freezes up that way, but it does get numb or sore after sitting for too long. That did not happen when I was young. Do you suppose my thought center has changed locations over the years?

So, the Jehovah's Witnesses "believe" in Jesus, but deny that He is Almighty God, deny that the Holy Spirit is a Person and is Almighty God. Can they get to heaven?

It's got nothing to do with whether they are Jehovah's witnesses or not. We aren't judged by what we believe. We aren't judged by the doctrines we subscribe to. We are judged by our works. And I could cite numerous passages of scripture which inform us clearly as to what works are acceptable and what aren't. The description of the last judgement in Matthew 21:31 on, is but one such example.
That isn't too say that doctrine and belief aren't important. But never underestimate the love and power of God in converting anyone... Even Jehovah witnesses, Mormons, wow, Even me and you.
