I have a reputation as someone who hates the Bible.
This is not true.

Which led to this previous topic.

Though I question much of the doctrine and apologetics from my religious upbringing,
I really did benefit from the biblical emphasis. And I took the time to read to book cover-to-cover.
Highly recommended.

The reason for this topic is to celebrate my own retention of such.

Why do you love the Bible?

The day you "Love the bible".......you'll have done more then "read it through it one time".

In Fact, you'll count the word of God as a living spiritual book, the source of Truth,....and literally God's final authority on all matters that pertain to CHRISTianity and Himself.

So, that certainly isn't representing you.

Also, its the fact that you posted many Threads and so many posts that cast your doubt on it, that makes this 'but i didnt really mean all that"....just a bit disingenuous. @St. SteVen .

But if you want to continue to repent, then maybe you can go and delete all your Threads that spit on the bible......that is "full of errors", as you like to believe.

What's that?
Unwilling?
See ... Reader......"You'll know them by their Fruit"....

A.) Thought so.

I know it’s not true, Brother, unfortunately some twist our words.....I too love being led through the Bible by the Living Spirit....Praise God!

It confirms who we are in Christ...spirit children.

It’s the Living Spirit who brings life to our spirit...the Living Spirit is the word of truth...the Bible confirms this...we are Alive in our spirit/ Alive in Christ...Praise God.

I'll give you an example..

Here is your disrespect of the Bible, as a Thread.
See, Real Christians who love the Bible would never post anything like this.......
But you would., as to you, making a Joke about the bible, is your heart, as otherwise, you would never have it in you, to make fun of the word of God on a puble Christian Forum.
Now, there are carnal people here, who also have issues with the bible that will enjoy your Joke on the bible.

Listen up, pretender.
If you feel the need to mock.....then mock Calvinism......mock the Pope,.. .mock Morini, mock "the perpetual virgin" theology........ but dont Mock God's word, and that's a carnal fool's game.

Reading the Bible helps us to grow spiritually. But I also love the many promises of God in it that we can go to in times of need or stress. As the Bible says, cast all our care upon Him for He cares for us.

If we don't know what's in the Bible, how can we apply God's promises to our situations in life.

I have been in Church where I saw the conviction of the Spirit by the preaching of the Word. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Romans 10:17

Hebrews 4:12
- For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Amen. and to know the Love of God which is in Jesus Christ.

Roman 8:38-39 - For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Thank you for your post.

Points A through AAAA are excellent reasons to love the Bible. Why go on and throw mud on someone who asks us illuminating questions about our faith? He is one person I would cheerfully meet after a Bible study class for more discussion.

We give thanks to God after a bountiful wheat harvest. The grain must still be separated from the chaff, but the extra work will not cause me to question God’s design for wheat.

Peace.

Why do you love the Bible?
It is necessary to read and study the Bible. Scripture commands it and shows its vital role in the life of every believer. In 2 Timothy 3:16–17, it says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” Jesus Himself said in Matthew 4:4, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” God told Joshua, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night” (Joshua 1:8), and Psalm 1:2 says that the blessed man’s “delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” The Bereans were called noble because “they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily” (Acts 17:11). Without the Word, we cannot grow in faith (Romans 10:17), be sanctified (John 17:17), or avoid sin (Psalm 119:11). Studying the Bible is not optional — it is essential for knowing God and walking in truth.

A true born-again believer in Jesus Christ will desire to read and study the Bible because the Word of God is essential for spiritual life and growth. Jesus said in John 8:31, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples.” In 1 Peter 2:2, believers are told, “Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation.” Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path,” showing that God’s Word guides the believer’s walk. Jesus prayed in John 17:17, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” Romans 10:17 teaches, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” A true believer is not saved by reading the Bible, but once they are born again, the Spirit of God gives them a hunger for the truth. As Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). That voice is found in His Word.

@Bob ..

we'll have to disagree.... because when someone throws dirt on the bible, and i make certain this is "under review" then that is not me throwing mud on the person, that is me revealing the person's "fruit".

Listen,

There is a difference between asking legit Bible questions, vs, asking if. """ The bible "floats" like soap. "

See it?

There is a difference between asking an honest question using a Thread...., vs using a Thread to attack the Bible, under the false guise of asking a Legit question.

Follow me?

What i can't do for people, is cause many believers who have been saved 15- 40 yrs..... to be able realize some things that should be crystal clear to a 3 day old Believer........and that is an unfortunate fact, about a "christian" forum.
But what i can do is chip away at the devil's lies, and the devil's theology, and sometimes this bring enlightenment to those who are real students of their Faith in Christ who need a little help.

"but behold, i dont see that you are showing LOVE".

And that point of view is one of the big issues that carnal believers have.......they always feel that Christianity is designed to tolerate what God does not... and call it "loving the brethren".

In the Book, God shows us that men without a Bible came to know Him and Love Him. And then when we [certainly true of me] have been down and almost out, there was the Book, the Bible, filled with whatever it was that was needed to approach Him once more.

For me the Bible has been and is a daily resource to read and study prayerfully. The writers were inspired by God to put down Words as He led them to do so. Similarly, His Spirit gives us any understanding of the Book that He has for us. What can we understand without His Holy Spirit?

Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. I Cor 3:6
Has anyone ever been blessed by someone's testimony while the fellow beside you did not receive anything at all? Or has the shoe ever been on the other foot with you receiving nothing?

Thank you for your reply. It has helped clarify my concern.

In recalling the post on soap & the Bible, it came across as a silly lead, but in rereading the thread, the hook was designed to remind us to think about the accuracy of the Bible, given its history. The thread also has a useful link to a discussion of this topic in Bible.org. A number of members chimed in with interesting analogies.

Yes, one can see how the soap comparison would offend Christians, but shouldn’t the criticism be specific about why it is offensive and/or disrespectful? Instead, the critiques appear attack the person. Should we not be careful about imputing the motives of members? (See also, U.S. Senate Rule XIX: "No senator in debate shall, directly or indirectly, by any form of words impute to another Senator or to other Senators any conduct or motive unworthy or unbecoming a Senator.")

the hook was designed to remind us to think about the accuracy of the Bible, given its history.

Actually, the "hook" was designed to cause you to read this idea..

"given its history"..... can we believe the accuracy of the bible'...

So, what that is, is a false projection that is suggesting that you believe that there are "accuracy errors" in the bible.

See that?

So, that is how you promote DOUBT against the bible, on a "christian forum" while pretending that you "love the Bible'.

Here is the reality.

The Devil's work, is to lead people to doubt the Bible, by teaching that there are "errors in it", or that "you can only trust the original Koine Greek".
See, once you doubt the bible, then all you have left as your final authority is your opinions or the commentary that is created by others who have no use for the word of God.
So, the devil has his ministers casting doubt on the bible. ....., just as he has his ministers promoting other lies, just as he has his ministers "covering up and shielding" those who would have you doubt the word of God.

To be honest. The Bible was always a "boring book" to me. And then when I studied a masters degree on it it was even a "heavy burden" to me. And then our "Abba Father/Daddy, Jehovah/Yahweh" changed it all. When He gave me the Godly Created Desire to Drink it as my Milk. When I was already preaching as a Reverend in the Dutch Reformed Church for 2 years. My mind highly educated but my Spiritual Life a "Baby of God".

1 Peter 2: 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
