Is 43:28 “So I will pollute the princes of the sanctuary,
And I will consign Jacob to the ban and Israel to revilement.
The fact is that God puts people in positions and in charge!
Jn 19:10,11 So Pilate *said to Him, “You do not speak to me? Do You not know that I have authority to release You, and I have authority to crucify You?”
Jesus answered, “You would have no authority over Me, unless it had been given you from above; for this reason he who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.”
1 Sam 12: 14,15 “If you will fear the LORD and serve Him, and listen to His voice and not rebel against the command of the LORD, then both you and also the king who reigns over you will follow the LORD your God.
“If you will not listen to the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the command of the LORD, then the hand of the LORD will be against you, as it was against your fathers.
So we read over and over how the Lord our God has control over who our leaders are: whether we like it or not!
And it is clear that the Lord out God makes the decision based upon whether we listen to Him or not!!!
Samuel told the Israelites, that if they "will fear the LORD and serve Him, and listen to His voice and not rebel against the command of the LORD", then their king/leader would also listen and follow the Lord. And if they didn't their leader would not either!
And we read above that Pilate also only had authority of Jesus Christ, when He was in the flesh, because His Father had given that authority to him. And we know that the Jews then were not listening to the voice of the Lord then!
Jn 5:37 “And the Father who sent Me, He has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His form.
And thought they did not hear His voice, they did read and study the Scriptures, and went to the temple where they had priests.
Jn 5:39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me;
and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.
So at that time the people did not listen to the Lord and hear what He told them, so their priests were polluted!
And we find this same thing be prophesied in Isaiah!
Is 43:22 “Yet you have not called on Me, O Jacob;
But you have become weary of Me, O Israel.
Now we have forgiveness of sins, and the promise that He will no longer remember them, right?
Heb 10:17 “AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS
I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.”
Christ did become the sacrifice, but there was a sacrifice back in Isaiah's time also, so a verse that reads:
Is 43: 25 “I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake,
And I will not remember your sins.
Even so, though He said through Isaiah then, "I will not remember your sins" back then it was still written:
Is 43:26 -28 “Put Me in remembrance, let us argue our case together;
State your cause, that you may be proved right.
“Your first forefather sinned,
And your spokesmen have transgressed against Me.
“So I will pollute the princes of the sanctuary,
And I will consign Jacob to the ban and Israel to revilement.
So even though we have a perfect sacrifice in Jesus Christ, that does not mean that He won't "pollute the princes of the sanctuary" if we " become weary", and don't call on Him to listen to Him.
Still, you do have an opportunity to "State your cause, that you may be proved right", but that doesn't really work to well, or does it?
Is 1: 18 “Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the LORD,
“Though your sins are as scarlet,
They will be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They will be like wool.
Now let me just be honest here: I have never ever won an argument with Him!!!!
Never-the-less, I have always been the winner when I do go and reason back and forth with Him!!
How else should a person learn from the Lord?
And ultimately, if I am the only person who reasons back and forth with Him, then He is my King and my Lord and all if fulfilled through Him!!! So indeed I am a great winner, simply because I talk and walk with Him - reasoning as I go. That doesn't mean that I am right. That is almost never the case, but it does mean I talk and learn from Him who is always right :)
Still, I would like to have the leaders ("princes of the sanctuary") at the Christian churches, and even our country, not polluted!!!
So I want, wish, and encourage, all Christians to actually listen to the Lord and do not get weary of Him. He is worth knowing, talking to, and reasoning with! To do that you have to actually seek His voice and listen!
I will say, that for the first time in years, it seems to be getting a little better. After all we didn't get the one who told those saying Jesus Christ is Lord, that they were in the wrong place.
Indeed, I want only those who consider those saying Jesus Christ is Lord, and who really mean it because they listen to Him, in front of Christian churches!! Which has not always been the case, as seen in the above example. What was not being done at the place/church, where they had someone who clearly told those saying 'Jesus Christ is Lord' that they were in the wrong place, in front of their "Christian" sanctuary?
So the question is - "are we calling on Him with the intent to listen to Him and obey, or are we getting weary of Him?"
It is not about "works" but it is about an honest relationship with our Lord God, Jesus Christ!! But is He your Lord if you have gotten tired and weary of simple walking and talking with Him?
And I will consign Jacob to the ban and Israel to revilement.
