Many unbelievers and unlearned cum unstable believers have the tendency to blame the devil for evil, even for sin.
The devil is a liar, deceiver and initiator to both unbelievers and believers. Both fall in the catergory of being tempted or tried by one's own carnal passions and desires.
But true believers have the every word of GOD which proceeded out of HIS mouth. Therefore they are able to say, 'no', to one's own carnal passions and desires. For it's fruit is evidence and is in enmity with GOD, and likewise wrestles against HIS Spirit.
So believers are to crucify the fruits of the flesh and focus on the things of the Holy Ghost.
