"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

The word used here is APERXOMAI and like many words, it has several meanings/usages. One meaning this word has is to "cease to exist." Think of it, all the things you wish you never did will cease to exist, no more will we be aware of them. In our glorified state, we will have no memory of the bad things we did in this life.

I’m not so sure we won’t be aware of them. Just my thoughts on it …he wipes away the tears, and there be no more death, mourning or crying for the old order of things has passed away. Can mean He brings beauty out of the ashes, He restores what was lost. To me to fully realize the magnitude of what God has accomplished, will I forget what I was without God? Remember when Jesus asked which do you think loves Me the most? I can’t find it now but I remember it is the one who sinned the most. Does that mean we should sin more? No, but in thanksgiving to Him who delivers those out of sin unto death, there will be great heights of reasons to rejoice in remembering exactly what God delivered us out of. Why put the creation through this, if the learning experience is forgotten? I don’t think Paul forgot Stephen and what Saul did to the body of Christ. But even more so Paul said “I must Preach Christ!” Is that “I must” Out of obligation or with great thanksgiving? Paul saying “you know what I did.” Also if Paul would have forgotten then there would have been an opportunity to deceive himself, but remembering what the Lord had delivered Paul out of, kept Paul humble and not lifting himself above others also coming to Christ. To me it’s wishful thinking God removes our memory. Instead to me there isn’t a one I’ve met yet that doesn’t give testimony to others of the greatness of God in telling others what God delivered them out of. We say …this was me prior to God, but God was full Grace and Mercy to forgive. Why is that a part of our Testimony of God’s Goodness. That could be what that passage is. God wipes the tears, mourning, grieving and lifts the heavy burden through granting (giving us cause) to rejoice in His work that overcome our death.

More on the topic
John 16:19-24 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do you enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and you shall not see me: and again, a little while, and you shall see me? [20] Verily, verily, I say unto you, That you shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and you shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow (weeping)shall be turned into joy. [21] A woman when she is in travail has sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembers no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. [22] And you now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man takes from you. [23] And in that day you shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. [24] Hitherto have you asked nothing in my name: ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Hello @KUWN

Is there some type of spiritual gleaning from this? Even now standing?

Hello @KUWN

The gleaning as I see it is that all the bad things in this world will cease to exist. For a father who has had his daughter raped, for example, this rape will cease to exist and he will not have to live any longer with that Pain. Our worst sin will cease to exist. I find this comforting to know.

[21] A woman when she is in travail has sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembers no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
But, if her baby is still born, she will have much anguish. This passage in Rev 21.4 let's her know that one day that memory and its associated pain will cease to exist. She will have no memory of such a traumatic experience.

Hello @KUWN,

Thoughts on overcomers who no longer see themselves as the victim? of course; that overcoming is helped initially by and through the Lord Yeshua/ seeking God in spirit and in truth?
