Matthew 28:1–4
1 Late on Sabbath mid-afternoon towards before the First Day
1 Ὀψὲ δὲ σαββάτων τῇ ἐπιφωσκούσῃ εἰς μίαν σαββάτων
set out Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to go have a look at the tomb;
ἦλθεν Μαριὰμ ἡ Μαγδαληνὴ καὶ ἡ ἄλλη Μαρία θεωρῆσαι τὸν τάφον.
2 at once a great earthquake occurred because of the angel of the Lord
2 καὶ ἰδοὺ σεισμὸς-ἐγένετο-μέγας ἄγγελος γὰρ-Κυρίου
(who) descending, approaching from heaven cast the stone away
-καταβὰς ἐξ οὐρανοῦ καὶ προσελθὼν ἀπεκύλισεν τὸν λίθον
then went and sat on it.
καὶ ἐκάθητο ἐπάνω αὐτοῦ.
3 His appearance was like lightning and his clothing white as snow,
3 ἦν δὲ ἡ εἰδέα αὐτοῦ ὡς ἀστραπὴ, καὶ τὸ ἔνδυμα αὐτοῦ λευκὸν ὡς χιών,
4 for fear of him the guards fell down,
4 ἀπὸ δὲ τοῦ φόβου αὐτοῦ ἐσείσθησαν οἱ τηροῦντες
unconscious, convulsing like dead.....
καὶ ἐγενήθησαν ὡς νεκροί…..
