Does being reborn, saved by Jesus, and receiving eternal life mean no more sin, particularly no more hidden roots of sin?
As the Lord renews your mind, you will be increasingly detached from the sinful desires of the flesh, increasingly desirous to serve Him. Being reborn releases us from the power of sin. Our minds are so ingrained with the old ways, there can be a struggle.

And the Lord works with each of us personally, as we are unique, and He knows each of us fully.

Much love!

Becomimg a Christian......releases you from the eternal penalty of sin, because Jesus has paid for all your sin, with His blood and death sacrifice.

But that is not all that frees you from the penalty of Sin.

Jesus has to deal with Moses Law and the 10 Commandments.......so, because He lived a sinless life, He fulfilled the Law, for us......and in doing this......the entire Law no longer has any dominion or power to define a CHRISTian , as a sinner.

The born again are here.......>>>"not under the LAW, but Under GRACE". = "where there is no LAW there is no Transgression (sin) found)."

Does this mean that you will never want what is wrong for you to have, that your conscience tells you is wrong?
NO.
But because we are "made free" from the Law, .. God's Grace will empower you to not just turn from carnality, but to have new desires in their place.

So, What is the KEY that we are to do........so that carnality has no way to put us into bondage to works of the Flesh?

A.) We are to recognize that we are become and always remain......"Made RIGHTEOUS"........based on Christ's finished work on THE Cross.

This is the "renewed mind"....and it will disagree with the old mind.....as the natural mind... the carnal mind......does not want to accept that we are "made righteous"..........but its TRUE..........and as we spiritually and theologically grow to believe this, completely, then "sin consciousness"......grows weaker and weaker, as we learn to only see ourselves as "made righteous">. as "the Righteousess of God, in Christ".

Only if one submits themselves to the Lord and resists the devil - James 4:7

Ephesians 4:24 - And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Romans 13:14 - But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Hebrews 9:14 - How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

It's too bad some think they will always be sinners and can't help it because they were falsely taught that God made all new born
babies to be sinners and there's nothing we can do about it.

Romans 6:4-6 - Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Colossians 3:5,6 - Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

As these scripture references indicate, those not accepting the calling of the Lord to be led by the Holy Ghost into walking after the new man are in disobedience... which will NOT end well for them unless they repent of their sin and get with the Lord's game plan!

As the Lord renews your mind

God doesn't teach in His Word that He is solely responsible for the renewing of the mind or understanding.
We are to be co-laborers with the Lord - 1 Corinthians 3:9

God instructs US to do that and it's something we do thru the Holy Spirit by submitting to His leading

Ephesians 4:23,24 - And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Galatians 5:16 - This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Romans 8:13 - For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

This is all done thru the power of the Holy Spirit thru God's Word.

Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengths me.

Which is the excuse many use to return to their sin

It's all good right?

After all they claim one can never lose their salvation even if they return to living in sin.

NO.

Hebrews 5:14 - But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

1 Thessalonians 4:4 - That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God;

2 Corinthians 10:4,5 - For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Those walking upright before the Lord will NOT want what is wrong and will follow the example Jesus gives us when the devil tried to get Him to engage in sinful behavior (you might want to go read about that in the Gospels)

James 4:17 - to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Ephesians 4:23,24 - And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
While I in no wise diminish our personal responsibility, I'd like to point out to you what the Lord says.

Here in Ephesians, this is a passive voice verb, meaning we receive the effect of the action, but we do not perform the action.

The same thing is true in Romans 12:2, "be transformed by the renewing of your mind", this is also passive voice, we receive the action.

In Philippians 2, work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to do what pleases Him, this is the operation of God. He works in us to both give us the ability and to repair our will, so we will choose rightly. We are to work out (katergadzomai) what He works in (ergon). This is like saying, we are to perform the things He's worked into us.

His part is to change us, our part is to live in that change, and not the old way.

(you might want to go read about that in the Gospels)
Yes! As I frequently do.

Why do you speak so to someone you have no idea of?

Rather then getting in your little personal digs, why not just talk Scripture?

Much love!

And WE must choose to walk in agreement with the leading of the Lord.

If we don't then we aren't being changed and the Lord does not force anybody to change.

Is everybody out to get you or something?

Sounds kinda paranoid to me

Who knows? People have all sorts of hidden agendas.

But I don't worry about it, it's nothing to me. But awareness is a good thing, including self-awareness.

You can find all sorts of information and truth about yourself in the Bible, you only need look, and God will show you.

Much love!

Didn't you make that choice when you repented? We're on the hook to do our part, but let's not get confused about your ability to reform yourself. God is going to be working in His children throughout their lives. Yes, it goes a lot better if you cooperate with Him. Even so, it's God who sanctifies you, it's God who transforms you, and renews your mind.

These Scriptures are just as important as the one's you've posted. We need the full teaching from God.

Much love!

ok, repentance includes rejection of sin nature. Then if some Christians are "more saved" because they were:

1. Sincere with repentance - rejecting themselves, nailing their flesh on the cross

2. Follow the Holy Spirit

what else?
How and where to find the Spirit?

I'd suggest beginning here, reading these parts carefully, and let me know what questions you may have. It will make all the difference if you truly want to understand these things, and ask God, in your heart, He hears you, to give you understanding.

John 1:1-14 EMTV (of Jesus)
1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2) He was in the beginning with God.
3) All things came to be through Him, and without Him nothing came to be which has come to be.
4) In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5) And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not apprehend it.
6) There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7) This man came for a testimony, so that he might testify concerning the Light, so that all through him might believe.
8) He was not that Light, but was sent so that he might testify concerning the Light.
9) That was the true Light which lightens every man coming into the world.
10) He was in the world, and the world came to be through Him, and the world did not know Him.
11) He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
12) But as many as received Him, He gave them the authority to become children of God, to those who believe in His name;
13) who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14) And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 3:3-19 EMTV
3) Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
4) Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born, being old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?"
5) Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and of Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7) Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'
8) "The wind blows where it wills, and you hear its sound, but you do not know from where it comes and where it goes. So is everyone who has been born of the Spirit."
9) Nicodemus answered and said to Him, "How can these things be?"
10) Jesus answered and said to him, "Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things?
11) Most assuredly I say to you, that which We know, We speak, and that which We have seen, We bear witness to, and you do not receive Our witness.
12) If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
13) And no one has gone up into heaven except He who came down out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.
14) And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
15) that everyone who believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
16) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17) For God did not send His Son into the world so that He might condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18) He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19) And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness more than the light, because their works were evil.
