Hi there,
So just thinking on spiritual things, for a little while, I learned something about Babylon (MYSTERY) that I want to share. Now God at some point says "come out of her, lest you share in her sins" but what is it that Babylon "sins"? The answer simply is: she conceals the cross. Why does she do this? For the sheer pleasure of getting away with sin. If you are in her midst and she can prevail upon you to sin more, she will. In the end, your sins and hers will be so numerous you can't function without more sin. This is ultimately death (even possibly the second death). But how does MYSTERY conceal the cross?
MYSTERY conceals the cross, saying three things "I sit as Queen" that's 'I murder everyone but me' "and am not alone" 'I don't acknowledge Christ' and "and I shall not see sorrow" 'nothing can stop me from getting away with sin". These three things are represented by Christ on the cross, with the murderer and the thief on either side of Him. Now the point is not to marvel at this, but rather understand that God punishes anyone who gets in the way of Salvation. The time will come when MYSTERY is overturned and no one will any more say "I thought my silence saved me". We will be judged by what we say, even if it is that "I am being silent". MYSTERY is not silent, but that doesn't mean you are not sharing in her sins, while being silent yourself.
The answer is to say something quietly to God, that you may have confidence in your Salvation. What you can't say quietly, you cannot believe. So does MYSTERY realise she is sinning? The problem there is that even if you are ignorant of the fact that you are sowing the seeds of corruption, you have done something worthy of stripes. God says you may be worthy of fewer stripes, but you will still be worthy of stripes. In Revelation God plainly says, "do unto her double, what she has done to you" so its not a sense in which God punishes her alone, but God invites every one she has hurt (that is by concealing the cross) to punish her with Him. God doesn't explicitly say "I am hurt by MYSTERY'S sin" for God alone is innocent, but it is evident that she blasphemes God, in as much as she shares in the Devil's sins (of which is blasphemy).
The power of understanding this, is that when you are sinned against (by MYSTERY and those with her) what you need to remember, is that the cross is still there. You may not see it in this life, but its power is still there. That means when you call out to God, that you are drowning in sin, the cross is still there to give you foundation. If you can stand with Christ for the cross, you are able to walk out of any amount of sin that is against you. This is power. I hope this has been of some encouragement to you.
God bless.
