Hi there,
So I am writing this for my own sake, if nothing else - I need to understand the Lord's strength. My understanding is that the Lord is strong, and there is no other. But He said "My Strength is made perfect in weakness", so there is a relationship to weakness that needs to be explored. Specifically, there are different types of weakness.
There is the weakness of the nerve, which governs what we believe and how we believe it; there is the weakness of the flesh, which governs how well we are able to follow instruction and meaning and receive power; and there is the weakness of the new body, which governs whether we will get to Heaven and how and where and for what and to what extent and so on and so forth. These three types of weakness are constitutionally hard (that is, the way the nerve, flesh and new body are arranged, is spiritually significant).
What do we do with weakness? Actually its more of a question "what does the Lord do with our weakness?" In the Holy Spirit we may suppose that God uses weakness, to disseminate conviction - that is throughout our being. Conviction in the nerve allows conscience, conviction in the flesh allows perception and discernment, conviction in the new body, allows application, following and trust.
There is also bringing together into One. If the whole of the Body of Christ is weak, we are weak toward one another, we receive each others words. That is a good thing, it allows for the edification of the body - mind, body, soul and spirit. This should expand our understanding and sensitivity to weakness.
So it is that God's Strength becomes all encompassing in weakness, how we function, why and so forth.
What is interesting is that the new body which we receive in Heaven, dwells in us, while we are yet on Earth - that creates the possibility of creating Heavenly conviction and powerful conscience.
I hope this has been of some encouragement.
God bless.
