One of the things I see brethren often do is failing to recall relevant Scripture when studying Bible prophecy. I know no one can be perfect in recalling everything they've read and studied in God's Word, but I see this happening with some even within the short space of a couple of verses in the same chapter. It makes me think those have a problem with the ability to concentrate, and instead allow their minds to wander too much.

2 Tim 2:15
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
(KJV)

According to Paul's advice to Timothy, we should study God's Word to become a "workman", learning how to rightly divide God's Word. That doesn't mean to just read God's Word, it means to actually study it.

Studying is different than a simple read, because with study that's how we get a subject to flow in our mind so it'll stick in our memory. A review of a study within a three day time period afterwards will also help keep it there. And there's another method that helps us to remember...

I'm a firm believer that if one studies all of God's Word line upon line, chapter by chapter, that The Holy Spirit will help you recall relevant Scripture spread out in various Books of God's Word. Obviously, that kind of working is beyond the level of mere brain mechanics, so it wouldn't matter with one who has a poor memory or not. The Holy Spirit can easily overcome limits of our brain. By line upon line Bible study, and learning to rightly divide (dissect) God's Word as written, I believe that's when God will consider us 'approved' as a 'workman' in His Word, and He will then aid our memory in it.

Do I speak this from experience? Yes. There's been days when I couldn't even recall people's names, but when speaking on matters of Scripture when asked, relevant verses would pop into my mind which amazed me at that working, and not just those around me listening. It's a working not of our brain or intellect, but speaking by unction of The Holy Spirit.
