How are we to understand the NT concepts heart, soul and mind?

Jesus is recorded in the gospels as using three words in one sentence:

"He answered, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and your neighbor as yourself.'” Luk 10:27 NRSVue

"And he answering said, 'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God out of all thy heart, and out of all thy soul, and out of all thy strength, and out of all thy understanding, and thy neighbour as thyself.' Luk 10:27 YLT

What are we to make of the distinctions which must have been in Jesus' mind? How are we to understand how all three are seen together, what it means to have all three seemingly to make up a whole concept?

The BDAG on the Greek behind "heart", "soul" and "mind/understanding" -

heart - kardia, the heart as "of inner awareness", "especially also of love"

soul - psuche, 2 c "of feelings and emotions"

mind - dianoia, 1 the faculty of thinking, comprehending, and reasoning, understanding, intelligence, mind

Does it describe our feelings and emotions(soul) brought about by a comprehending intelligence(mind), which two together refers to our inner awareness(the heart), as the complete person? Should we think our feelings and emotions should be derived from comprehending intelligence, our understanding; and that is how we see ourselves?

I've always wrestled with how to understand the three concepts as Jesus states them. People, give some other understandings as you see the three.

1.)
Genesis said that man "1st Adam" .... ""was made in OUR image"
I teach the "our" as "God the Father, Jesus THE Christ = (the Pre-incarnate Word), and The Holy Spirit.

= "3".


2.) Man is also, by "image", created as 3.

1. Body
2. Soul
3. Spirit

You live in a body
You have a soul
You are a Spirit

So, you are the Spirit. You live in a body, and have a mind (Soul) that are all living.

Are you thinking? Then your "soul realm" your Soul, is still alive.

3.)
The Soul realm, is not the Spirit or the body.

The Soul realm is :

1. MInd
2. Will
3. Emotions.

When you are born again, you are born again = Spiritually.
This is the REAL YOU, as "the new creation in Christ"...."one with God"
This REAL YOU is going to get a NEW Body.

Your. current body is not born again and your mind is not born again.
This is why the NT tells you that you are to RENEW your mind, or "by the Transforming of your mind".
Your Spirit IS born again, and this means that you have become a part of God's Holy Spirit. "Temple of THE Holy Spirit".
= "If a person has not the Holy Spirit, then they are none of God's."
To be born again, is to be born again INTO the Spirit of God, by The Holy Spirit of God.
You end up with Christ in you, and you "in Christ"..... "one with God".
Water baptism does not birth you as "born again".. so, if you were told this, and you believe it.. then you have believed a lie.

Christ Himself is our Righteousness. He is our Eternal Life...And our born again Spirit is now joined into and with His, and that is why we have become "IN Christ", and "Christ in you, the hope of Glory".
Its by becoming born again "In Christ" Spiritually..... that we become the same as Christ, literally, = as a Son/Daughter of God.
See that?
This is why the NT says ....regarding the born again..

A.) = "As Christ IS.....so are the born again, in this world".

This is what it means to literally be "made righteous", and become "the righteousness of God, IN Christ".
See it?

Now the way this is usually taught ....is that when Adam died, so he died Spiritually.
But that isn't really accurate.... as the "death" was not the death of Adam's Spirit.....but it was the separation of Adam's Spirit, from God's Spirit.
See, our spirit never dies, it just ends up as born again, or not.
Our Spirit ends up, as "One with God " "in Christ",.... or.... eternally separated from God after death, "2nd death) exactly as you find the Spiritual separation that currently exists between all unbelievers, and God's Spirit.. until they are born again.
If they are never, and they die, then that is the 1st death, become eternal, as the 2nd death.
This 1st death, is what happened to Adam, as this is to be separated from God's Spirit, which is how the NT defines "death", in this case.
The 2nd Adam, who is JESUS, came to restore our spirit as "born again" back into God's Spirit. This spiritual union restoration between man and God, is to become a "new Creation, in Christ". = Born ....again.

This is why Jesus tells us....."You MUST be born again", as if you are not, then you have not been restored to God, who is..
="A Spirit". (The Holy Spirit), and Eternal Life
You are not restored to spiritual union with God by water.
Salvation, is simply to be restored SPIRITUALLY to God. by being Born again...."spiritually", and that restored spiritual union between the BELIEVER and God, is to become "born again"...
Its simply to be returned to spiritual union with God, as Adam had it, before he sinned and lost it.
Christ restores this to you, if you do this..

"All that believe in Jesus, shall be saved".........or as Jesus explains it.. ."ALL who believe in me, I give unto you ETERNAL LIFE... and you shall never go to Hell (perish)""

The Cross of Christ, is the BLOOD Sacrifice that deals with all our sin, FIRST.... so that God can THEN birth us by His Holy Spirit into His Holy Spirit....Into HIMSELF, as BORN....again..... = "A New Creation... IN...Christ".

What does God require of you, to give you "the Gift of Salvation".

You give God your Faith, and God takes your faith, and applies to you forgiveness and eternal life, and this is to become born again.. as a "new creation" In Christ........as "one with God".

procreated from a human male seed which has fertilized a human female egg.

This LIFE, IS Gods Breath,

A living soul, will Depart OUT of a dead body, and such soul shall continue Living, (communicating)….
Such departed living soul…will leave the face of the Earth…and habitat, either IN heaven or hell…until Judgement Day.
The dead body will, know, feel nothing, rot and remain on Earth…until Judgement Day.
* The body AND soul will NATURALLY have the Same IDENTIFIERS…names, genders, pronouns, me, I, my, thought processes. etc.

Person- is defined as An Alive Body, With An Alive Soul IN the Body.

Living souls DEPART out of Dead Body’s.
A Dead Body, IS NO Longer …A PERSON.

The NATURAL Spirit of man…
IS the natural “truths” the growing babe into adulthood LEARNS (knowledge)…and TRUSTS (believes)…as NO DOUBT ABSOLUTE TRUTH.

The Carnal Mind of man.
A natural “processor (or sorts), of Knowledge” it receives (at a phenomenal rate of speed).
A continual bombardment of KNOWLEDGE…From, seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching, being touched…dissecting…pondering…ignoring…trusting…rejecting…believing…wondering…etc.
* can believe one minute then reject the next minute…vacillates continually…is “easily” manipulated…”easily” can deceive and be deceived.
* “such a NATURAL” Carnal Mind…IS AGAINST God…and has NO natural capability to “UNDERSTAND” Gods SPIRITUAL, understanding.

* Spoken and Written Spiritual “KNOWLEDGE”.
Spirital Knowledge, ie. Gods Approved knowledge.
Some men SPEAK on behalf of God, sharing Gods Knowledge.
Some men as well SPEAK on behalf of themselves, sharing “their” Knowledge.

* They were escorted pass the “TREE of Life”, which NOTHING…prevented them from seeing, reaching out taking, tasting, Eating, Before passing through the exit way of the Garden….But, they neither exercised their FREEWILL to take from THAT Tree.
And thereafter…every offspring human of a humans SEED is the same like manner…corrupt…

* common laws…traditions, rituals, remembrances, celebrations, clans, tribes, observed amongst themselves.
* precepts…Gods acceptable behaviors between and amongst “any” of manKIND.
* statutes…positive and negative (penal) laws God established for a particular people, to be “written”, copied, distributed, taught generationally, to such particular people…WHO all “agreed” to Obey.

** The New (better) Testament News.
Introductions and Offerings…
OF God revealed to the OT clans / tribes…Introduced to men of the Whole World, regardless of race or clan or tribe or gender or age.
* Offerings…to all of manKIND to EXERCISE their own FREEWILL, to hear, learn about God and His Offerings. And CHOICE to Be Curious, Listen, Taste, Spit Out, Reject, Walk Away, Believe, Continue Hearing, Trust, Accept, Eat, “Vow” Belief, or Not.

* Rejection…Living (life/blood)man, ie Person, alive Body, with living soul (Gods Life)…who rejects God … God Shall Reject that mans “alive body” and “alive soul”.
Every man’s Body Life (blood) SHALL Die, God requires that.
A living body that Rejects God… that dead lifeless body After Judgement shall be destroyed, burned up, in the Lake of Fire and Forgotten.
The Living soul of such man…The Life of the soul (Gods Breath) shall return to God. The lifeless soul also destroyed, burned up IN the Lake of Fire, Forgotten.
The Natural Spirit of that such man…(natural truth) dies with its body…

* Acceptance of Gods Offering..OT…absolute “Belief” in one’s HEART….AND “Obedience” to Gods Word / STATUTES!
Compliance?
God WITH THEM, THEY with God.
* Belief…but NON compliance…??
Non Compliance of “LAW”? Penal Law “punishment”…
…individuals of the First clans, tribes, can Raise, Care for, a new born animal, take the the yearling to Temple, Give to Priest For their Sin Offering, that that animals Life (blood) be given unto death, slayed young on the altar, for the forgiveness of their “years past” sins.
(Law has not been abolished…but no physical Temple Exists today).

* Forgives the Soul’s sin of having HAD rejected Gods Truth. Yes
* Spirit of God enters that mans Body? Yes

* Circumcises the mans Heart. (Cuts off the old Natural Truths About the Lord God)….Yes.
* Gives that man A NEW ( fleshy ) Heart? Yes.
* Gives that man a NEW Seed (Gods Seed)? Yes.
* That New Seed Births that man a NEW Spirit? Yes
*That new Seed Is Christ? Yes
* The Christ is the Power & Wisdom of God? Yes.
* The Spirit of Truth enters that new Born spirit of man? Yes

* IF that man is Diligent, learning Gods Word…that man IS being prepared TO…What?

Such a man…
Has received…a holy body ( ie Jesus’ risen body)to occupy…until his own body is raised up Glorified. Called “IN” Christ.
* Has received Forgiveness of his body, soul, spirit For His Sin AGAINST God “of having HAD unbelief”. Called Forgiven.
* Has received the POWER of God IN him, that that man can Sin…no more. Called Righteous….and Perfected IN CHRIST.
* Received “restoration” of His SOUL. Called having a SAVED “soul”.
* Received “quickening” ( birth of a spirit from Gods SEED . ) Called Born Again never again Able to Sin, nor Subject to Death. Yes.

* IF already Bodily Dead, (IN Christ) at the time commencing Gods Great Tribulation …
* that Body is Raised up by Christ Jesus…and his saved soul and quickened spirit returned to his body…and he rises up to the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.

IF still Bodily Alive, when Gods Tribulations from heaven is to commence…
Next (after the physically dead body’s rise up…)then do the Living Bodies, IN Christ; soul, spirit rise up to the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.

This is First time The Whole of Christ the Lord Jesus’ Church meet their Lord and Savior Face to Face…and never Again shall they be separated One from the Other.
Where the Lord IS so shall His Whole Church be….from henceforth.
* They (Wholly, glorified body, restored soul, quickened spirit) wait with their Lord…In the clouds / air …UNSEEN, by the by any natural men ON Earth.

* During the Trib…the Son of Man…(who can be SEEN…by all restored souls, by any departed souls, by any alive natural body’s eyes of men….)
Shall go and SIT on a White Cloud…expressly for ALL that were created humans….TO SEE and Observe Him Dividing the Remaining MEN ON EARTH.

* Dividing…Any who have come to believe… in their Heart…IN God.. IN Jesus…IN Christ …
And MADE made their True word confessions….before their bodily Death….Bodily Killed…souls saved, rise to Heaven…
• Dividing…Mortals who Believe, IN God, IN Jesus… but made No Confession…a Remnant for Repopulation, their bodily life remains naturally alive.…they Reproduce…live no loner than 120 years…build towns, cities, nations, during 1,000 yr reign of Jesus.
* Dividing…Mortals who rejected Belief IN the Lord God…killed, souls unsaved and sent to hell to wait for Judgement.

1,000 yr reign…Christ Jesus King of His Kingdom (Abraham’s promised Land)…(king Davids throne, Jerusalem)

They EXPRESSLY have the power of God WithIN them…For their “New spirit’s Thoughts, IN their new heart”….to OVER/RULE…oppress…diminish…supersede the “corrupt, ungodly, thoughts” that indiscriminately pop into their Carnal Minds.

Point advantage…(can’t stop corrupt things from entering the Carnal Mind…) BUT Can control such thoughts, with Gods Power….
* Every success to Control…IS called HAVING a MIND….Like Christ.
* This concept…is also referenced to “working out your own Salvation”
* Meaning … God does NOT give converted men a “new mind”…but Does give a converted man the “tools” Power to control his mind…
And Paul made a reference to this scenario … of having to deal with the thoughts of his mind…ie. The natural wretched man.
