Unfortunately many who believe in OSAS are ODAD:

Once Deceived Always Deceived
unfortunately that is true.

I never try and assure another person they are saved. There are to many warning passages in Scripture. There are things like strive to enter in the narrow gate, many who call Me Lord Lord shall not enter the kingdom, examine yourselves to see whether or not you are in the faith, its those who finish the race, those who endure until the end, those in the parables who remain faithful, finish what they started to build, have their lamps full, are ready in the middle of the night prepared for His coming at a time you do not know etc.......

There are genuine Christians and there are "nominal/pseudo" Christians. There are genuine believers and there are make believers mixed to gather in various churches (and on various Christian forum sites) hence, the warning passages in Scripture

Agreed and only God knows their hearts which is why I said the above. I know my heart but not theirs.

I like the idea of OSAS. My preacher preaches it at church. I don’t know if it is true or not. I sure would like to think that if someone accepts Jesus and they screw up and relapse or whatever there sin is, that Jesus wouldn’t say “well you screwed up that’s it, you’re out”. Because we all screw up, all the time. That being said I pray for my family and myself to be saved daily because I have no idea who is saved or not.

Must have missed your posts.

OSAS is salvation by faith alone for unrighteous christian sinners.
Straw man argument.. OSAS is Once Saved Always Saved or Preservation of the Saints. (Psalm 37:28; Jude 1:1)

ALL false religions and cults that teach salvation by works strongly oppose OSAS, which has always been a major red flag for me.

Right? If you repent and accept Jesus’ to forgive your sins I assume it means ALL of your sins. Not just the sins before you were saved as you will sin again. It is not Jesus plus works to be saved. Works come but that is not what saves you. Jesus died for us.

you will sin again

“Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings…Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: Which have forsaken the right way…” (2 Peter 2:13-15)

Are you saying you don’t sin?

The red flag is consistently lying about a teaching, in order to straw dog it away.

Justification is by works.

James does not teach a cult, so far as Jesus is concerned, though He did write for the sect of the Nazarenes now called Christianity.

There are those such as yourself that still call it a cult though.

Yes, and so does the Bible:

“Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.” (1 Peter 4:1-2)

So don’t live the rest of your time in the flesh to the lusts of men.

Though we are not promised tomorrow, the example of Manasseh shows that even cast away reprobates, whom God is giving up on today, can still be drawn by His mercy tomorrow to repent. (2 Chr 33)

In the case of OSAS, that means first repenting of the lie, that we can be sinning for the devil and be a born son of God at the same time.
