Sis, my friend says the cat owns her,LOL.

That’s incredible how they all turned up, I think someone else had a say in that don’t you?

I’m praying that I can have a fur baby, I wait on the Lord for one.

They are really good company. Some like to lay on your lap or snuggle beside you in bed.

Miss Kitty would come in every morning and lay down beside me. When I had Ginger, she would lay under the blanket with mom when mom first went to bed.

You mentioned your friend using a spray bottle....never spray them in the face. But I never sprayed any of my several cats. I'd just say "no, no." They learn fast.

Why don't you visit some cats at an animal rescue center? There are many lovely cats needing a home. Usually they are already spayed or neutered and have vaccinations.

Important: Male cats need to be neutered before six months old so they don't learn to spray (to mark territory). The spray will smell. Also, a male who isn't neutered will yowl terribly.

I've had all females and one male cat.

@Ritajanice I've heard of cats attacking burglars before.

The owner says her cat is declawed. Please don't declaw a cat...it affects their balance, etc. You need to buy them a tall scratching post to use.

This is funny how people end up with a cat.
see the kitty sitting in the back of that car .
about ten years back i was headed to work
and got into my car . it was dark for it was very early .
ALL of a sudden i hear nothing but nails scratching as a cat was running all over the place in that car .
I was doing everything i could to get the seat belt off and get out of the car .
It landed right down at the floor and i was still jumping about to try and get out and it flies out the window .
Man you would have thought a moutainlion was in that car . SEE i knew them nails i heard scratching ,
yes them same nails if they hit my skin and peeled out on me , HURT . oh i laughed later about it
but at the moment i was jumping , ducking , and doing all to unbuckle that seat belt . I was reminded
of that when i seen that kitty in the back of the car at the beginning of the video .

This is funny how people end up with a cat.
a few months before the car incident
i had been resting peacefully in the chair . I got up
to go to the front door , but i had not known the neighbors cat had come in through the open door .
That thing peeled out and when it did , right over my bare feet it ran with NAILS fully exposed .
SO when the car incident occured and i heard them nails scratching the surface as that cat exploded in fear
and was running all around the inside of the car , I KEPT THINKING, oh man dont let that cat peel out on me head ,back , neck or etc .

Oh i just remembered something funny that happened when i was about fourteen . THOUGH at the time
me nor my brothers nor grandaddy thought was funny .
Mama had wanted great grandmas beautiful solid brown cat .
Great grandma was coming to live with grandparents at the time .
SO we all went over to the house and got the cat and put it into a box .
NOBODY thought to think that cat can use them paws to pull DOWN the lid .
WHEN it exploded out of that box and was runnning round the inside of that truck
not a soul was wearing a shirt because it was summer . EVERYBODY was ducking and dodging like they head was on fire
and they rear catching flame . I still remember when grandaddy was telling daddy
that story . He was trying so hard not to laugh cause great grandma was over and nearby .
But man it was funny . AT that time it was . BUT NOT while it was going on in the truck .

@Ritajanice Another good story.

I wont live with cats. They always stink up the house. The cat pea has like twice the ammonia in it than dog pee so it stinks more. Nevertheless, I love cats! Wanna trade recipes?

Cute videos though. Maybe I should make a video about a cat horror story, because I got one!

When I was living in Colorado Springs and had a few years under my belt out there, one of my old friends from Columbus was wanting to move away from Columbus, and that was my friend and his family so I encouraged to come to Colorado and they could all land here until the get situated and get a place. And he jumped on it and thought great idea and he had watched me BBQ a cat one time (not really!) but he he remembered that I wasnt fond of cats and they had one so he asked, ok to bring our cat too?

I told him no because I dont want a cat inside the house, they stink. If you take that cat to a strange place where there's a dog at they'll spray and mark territory! And he said ok he would find it a home then. Thanks for asking Bro! So they get their stuff together and make the trip to land in in Colorful Colorado and they all came in and we made coffee all around and sandwighes for their kids and about 3 or 4 hours into them being there, my friend walks outside and didn't come right back in, so I wondered where he went and went out to see.

He was walking up the walk with an animal carrier kennel thing in his hand...and I just knew it was their Cat! I said no at the door and said dude don't take it inside! And then the kids were there and his wife (Grrr) so I knew I was stuck. Aaaggh! A cat in the house?!

So with all the women and kids against me I had to let him bring it in, against my better judgment. They sat the little cat kennel down and left it closed for a few so maybe the cat would calm down (and the kids! Lol). And it didn't with all them kids so they opened the door to the kennel and that cat bolted out of the cage and ran straight down the hallway to the kids room and went in. So all the kids naturally trailed it and went in behind it. I sat there for about 30 seconds and then I smelled it and it was getting stronger fast.

That cat did exactly what I said it would, it ran in there and sprayed. Not some easy to clean up pee, but the nasty stuff they spew out their glands, lol. It was terrible!

I couldn't really blame my friend, I knew he was cornered into it by his wife and kids when they couldn't find a home for it and they faced animal shelter where it would prolly be euthanized. I couldn't blame his kids, their kids. So I had to blame his wife. It was her cat. It took maybe 25 years to forgive her, lol. Oh did not like that girl! Luckily my friend divorced her after awhile and got him him a new better wife! So all's well than ends well.

When that cat sprayed in my house, ugh. I never wanted to BBQ a cat for real except that one! We had a pretty small place and it stunk up the whole house.

So cats can have their downside too.

That's a problem with the owner not the cat. Try changing the litter box from time to time. LOL

I've owned cats and dogs for 20 years. Cats are a much cleaner animal than dogs. Even though my cat goes outside, I still tend to change the litter box 1 per week. Never is there a cat urine smell in my house.

That could be and I would believe you that your house dont stink. I ran service for 30 years at 6-8 different houses every day, so I got in a Lot of house and seen people, at home. And I think there was two times that I went in somebody's house and, no cat smell...but a cat walks out at some point. So it can be done, it's just that 99% of people dont keep their house that well. You can smell it as soon as you walk into the door. Then they say the leak is in the bathroom, and the litter box is in there a lot!

I'll stick with dogs. Yeah he slobbers all over and he sheds sometimes but he's polite about his bathroom business. He has never peed in the house. He's got his let me out for quick pee bark and a lemme outside to play gruff. So far so good but most dogs I've ever had didn't pee in the house.

Has you cat ever tried to push you around? Like you're a member of it's Staff? I've seen cats do that!

I once owned a GSP and caught 5 mice that I remember! Better than any one cat I ever seen. He was a hunting dog though so it was in his blood. He kiiled all of them and brought them to me dead one at a time!

@Ritajanice fyi

I've had cats since 1989 and never had a smelly house. In the "old days", before scoopable litter, I changed the litter, washed the box weekly, and scooped daily.

Nowadays with Scoopable litter, it is so much easier!!! Just scoop the urine balls which clump and control any odor. The Scoopable litters are odor free.

About cat spraying....a male cat must be neutered before six months old or else they will start to spray to mark territory.

If you neuter a male cat before six months old, it will never learn that habit. I did own one male cat and he never sprayed.

It's lazy, irresponsible owners that are the problem.... simply spay, neuter and scoop your litter box daily.

Also, children shouldn't be allowed to harass a cat...teach them to be gentle and the cat will respond to them.
