Joining Alpha course!

Hi everyone,
So I joined the Alpha Christianity course this year and I went to a Alpha Day Together. It was fun. The host was so nice asking how I am doing and how did the pickleball game go and if I liked it and encouraged me when I was playing it, it was so nice and sweet. I also had a work-out playing the pickleball and they asked people who they saw playing it if we'd like to see it playing during the week at the church. I love my church! It so fun and practical! I am now volunteering at the church serving coffee at and between services. :) Also, as people know, my mom got into an accident so she's recovering and therefore, missed a lot of the Alpha course so next year she wants to go again to learn about God! I want to join the fun and learning next year with her and maybe it'll be different. I missed one class so far.

But : Is this church more than just a social club? Is there a special spiritual dimension?

Yes they have 3 services running every week on Sundays, it's more than just a social club but I think the social part is like fellowship which is really important!!! And the Alpha course has been helpful. I missed some points which I will pick up next year but other things that helped me was when they said that God answers our prayers in 3 ways with a red, green and yellow light (red meaning no, green meaning yes and yellow meaning wait). Also I learned that Satan is the accuser always comdemning us but that there is no more condemnation in those who are in Christ Jesus but God convicts us so that we may turn away from our sins and change so that is the difference. Also, there have been people whose lives and hearts have been changed in just one night because of God/Christ Jesus!

I missed another evening of Alpha this week because of the weather. It's towards the end of Alpha now in April (it started in late January and because of a storm we missed one week) and I haven't gotten so far as to get the answers I wanted to discuss but I did learn about some things with the videos and from our discussions.
