Agree.
But what does the church claim? Every word (which Bible?) is god-breathed.

Honestly, preachers and pastors nowadays skate to please, and do motivational speaking to inspire. They have to, to keep a job. The pastor puts up on the big screen a bible passage and preaches a little and tells a lot of personal stories and jokes.

Agree.
Additionally, denominations require them to sign a doctrinal agreement contract with them.
Pastors who stray from that are at risk of termination and blacklisting.

Regardless of certain discrepancies/differences, the Lord has seen fit to preserve the Truth. This is the reason the devil always works so hard in every generation to discredit and put out its God-breathed light. We have the Holy Spirit and discernment to see how the word of God does not lie and how the new testament writings are beautifully harmonious with the old testament.

People will believe and cherry-pick what "scholars" they want to listen to, and the Lord knows why they do. Just like they cherry-pick scriptures.
This is the expected response from those who refuse to face the facts.

Do you defend biblical inerrancy?

@St. SteVen ...some of the copyrights Of The Bible as you say may be corrupt.

But, there is no mistaking the voice of the Spirit to our spirit.....even if we never ever read a Bible again, we know in our heart/ spirit that we are the children of God.
The Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are Gods children....Spirit gives birth to spirit.....Flesh gave birth to flesh.
Praise His Holy Name!..

What was being said by @Rockerduck was that the "corrupted" Critical Text group of manuscripts were being used to create copyrightable Bible translations for the profits they will earn. This is business, of course. But has led to some 28 "updates" to the Bible in recent years.

I'm no expert on these things. But I do know that the short-sighted claims of most Christians about the bible are false.

Here's a definition of Critical Text.

The “Critical Text” Theory, aka “Reasoned Eclecticism”

Reasoned Eclecticism uses a set of rules to sift through all the Textual Variants and arrive at what they believe is original. Since the rules are so central to their philosophy, we’ll take some time to examine them. Further, understanding how these rules work and their place in Bible history will help you understand the modern Critical Text.

But, there is no mistaking the voice of the Spirit to our spirit.....even if we never ever read a Bible again, we know in our heart/ spirit that we are the children of God.

I believe God can use the imperfect Bibles we have, or whatever means he wishes to speak to us IF WE ARE LISTENING.

I love how you emphasis LISTENING!...excellent point.

We miss out on so much, when our pride and ego get in the way of Listening...thank you for that excellent reminder.

This is another good and interesting point, I see that you have certainly done your research.

Unfortunately, the Bible has become a crutch for believers. Many have lost, or never had, the ability to hear God's voice.
I know that my own intense involvement with the Bible has gotten in the way. I have had to work to regain this.

John 10:27 NIV
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

Thanks.
We'll never hear this information from the pulpit.
Good thing we have forums that allow free speech.

I agree....this forum has allowed us to grow ...or maybe it should read, God has allowed us to grow here....I can’t believe how much the Spirit has helped me grow, since joining this forum...Praise God for placing us here and keeping us here.....

Yes. And don't let's ever forget to test and discern what we are hearing....by the word of God.

There is NO mistaking the Living testimony of the Spirit...

The Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are the children of God.

As @St. SteVen will also testify...our spirit recognises our Father Gods Spirit in an instance.

Remember our spirit came from God and our spirit is reconciled back to God.

No one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Living Holy Spirit.....The Living Spirit gives birth to our spirit...there can be no mistaking that supernatural Living encounter...it blew my mind and still does.

We are being conformed into Jesus from the Spirit within our spirit...

Romans 8

King James Version

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Which of these is the word of God?
1) The Majority Text ?
2) The Critical Text ?
3) The Textus Receptus ?

Do you even know the difference?
Or are you so steeped in evangelical dogma as to not care?
Do we need to know the answers to those questions in order to be led by the Holy Spirit?

Do we need to know the answers in order to be finally saved by God?

What about simply seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and allowing Him to add to us everything else that is needed? Who is able to define certainly what is or is not needed? [see Matt 6:33]

Will the Holy Spirit ever lead a sincere heart the wrong way?
No he won’t....but, that darn enemy will....the closer we get to God, the more we seem to get under spiritual attack...mind you....God has been showing me his cunning ,scheming ways just lately..

The more we mature ,I believe ,the more we can recognise that evil tempter and trouble maker @amadeus .

My intense involvement in the scriptures has only enhanced my ability to hear God's voice...it part of my living relationship with Him. I approach the scriptures prayerfully as a living word and meditate on it the same way. In fact, He often speaks to me from His word, in a personal and living way, though that is not the only way He speaks to me. What used to get in the way of hearing from God was all the noise coming from other people and pulpits and ministries. Once I shut all that out, by God's leading and grace, I began to hear and receive so much more from the Lord than I ever used to. Healing as well as increased understanding of His word and showing things to come, as well as personal direction etc. Why settle for everything second hand (much of it fluffy filler, misleading or downright false) when we have a living relationship with the Living God and can be taught and receive directly from Him in these perilous and deceptive days? The flesh gets in the way and tries to keep people from "come to Me that ye might have life".

Ever wonder why Yahweh did not preserve the original manuscripts for us? Why, I wonder why it seems like knowing the truth now takes a diligent search and careful study. We have the resources now to dig deeper than our forefathers did, yet so few people ever do it.
To confound the wisdom of the wise by making interpretation with the Spirit a requirement. Furthermore, confusion caused by translation and popular interpretation only makes that requirement for spiritual interpretation more necessary to arrive at the truth.

Yes there is unfortunately. That is why we are told to test everything and test the spirits. People sometimes mistake the Holy Spirit for an evil spirit or mistake an evil spirit for the Holy Spirit.
