Jesus said his shed blood was for many. Who are the many?
[Isa 53:11 KJV] 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Isiah speaks of the many in the verse above. Only many are justified not all.
[Isa 53:5 KJV] 5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
The above verse says Christ was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. In Isiah 53:11 cited above Christ was said to bear their iniquities. Who is being spoken of? Whose transgressions and whose iniquities are in view?
[Isa 53:6 KJV] 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Who are those that are said to be like sheep had their iniquity laid on Christ?
[Jer 50:6 KJV] 6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away [on] the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.
[1Ki 22:17 KJV] 17 And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace.
[Jer 50:17 KJV] 17 Israel [is] a scattered sheep; the lions have driven [him] away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.
[Mat 10:6 KJV] 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
[1Pe 2:25 KJV] 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
Israel is the lost sheep.
[Jhn 10:15 KJV] 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
Jesus was laying down his life for the many; the lost sheep of Israel.
[Heb 9:15 KJV] 15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
The book of Hebrews also says Jesu died for the redemption of Israel's transgressions under the first testament. Jesus died for the many.
[1Ti 2:6 KJV] 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
In contrast Paul reveals that Jesus died for all.
We must rightly divide the Word. There is a difference between many and all.
